Prompt: If it's not so much trouble could please create a fanfic about " Yellow Jack" where Deeks gets injected with the virus while he's cuffing him.

A/N: It's difficult to write these ones sometimes because I often feel it requires more than a simple one-shot. I changed the events considerably from the canon events to fit the prompt.

Also, if this might be an uncomfortable topic for you, please avoid it.

"Get down!" Deeks ordered at the same time Kensi shouted, "Federal Agents. Of course, Fadel Ali didn't comply, seeking unfazed by them or their weapons pointed directly at him.

He inched back a few steps, dragging the terrified civilian with him. She whimpered slightly, catching Deeks' eyes, begging him to do something. He gave the barest nod of his head, hoping it would be enough to reassure her.

Kensi put her free hand out in a calming gesture.

"Stay back, or I will inject her," Fadel threatened, moving the needle closer to her neck. The woman made another sound of distress as the

people around them looked for cover and screamed.

"Fadel, we don't want to hurt you or anyone else," Kensi said.

"But we will if you don't put that syringe down," Deeks continued in a tone that left no doubt that he meant every word.

Ali crept back another step, glancing around furtive. There was desperation on his face, but Deeks sensed he wasn't about to give in.

"Fadel, we know that you've been infected." Fadel's expression twisted at Kensi's words. "We can help you. You don't have to die this way."

"Please, don't hurt me," the woman begged, tears starting to leak onto her cheeks. Fadel's jaw clenched and the hand with the needle twitched again. Kensi shifted forward on her toes, steadying her weapon, looking for an opening.

Before she could act, Fadel shoved the woman towards Kensi and darted to the side between two crouching bystanders, making everyone else around them scatter.

Cursing under his breath, Deeks headed after him, knowing Kensi would ensure everyone else was safe. Fadel was several yards ahead, leaving a path of destruction behind him in the form of pedestrians and thrown chairs.

Deeks didn't think he'd grab another person; Fadel was too concerned about escaping at this point. However, he could still inject someone by mistake or in a desperate attempt to spread the disease as far as he could.

Careening around two unsuspecting patients, Fadel reached the edge of the hospital courtyard which was relatively clear. Deeks lengthened his stride and dove, landing firmly against Fadel's back. They crashed to the ground, Fadel taking the brunt of the impact.

Deeks quickly straightened up and grabbed his arms, digging his knees into Fadel's back.

"Stay down," Deeks ordered sharply when the man jerked beneath him and cuffed his wrist tightly. He glanced around the area for the syringe but didn't see it in the immediate vicinity. "Everyone keep your distance," he added to the people who had started to gather closer now.

He grabbed Fadel by his linked arm, pulling him up to his knees. As he patted his pockets to check for weapons, a sharp pain shot through his wrist, and he lifted his hand, frowning at the small piece of glass he saw jutting from his skin. There were more small pieces surrounding the spot where Fadel had landed, and Deeks saw what looked like a shiny metal cap.

He stared at it for a full 10 seconds before he remembered that he needed to notify Nell and Fatima. After dragging Fadel out of the main pathway he pressed his finger to his ear, flexing his other hand as it began to burn more intensely.

"Hey, Nell, I've got Fadel Ali."

"Thank goodness," Nell said, letting out an audible sigh.

"We'll need someone in to handle crowd control," he added,

"Got it. I'll let Sam, Callen, and LAPD to join you at the hospital."

"Thanks." As he turned, he saw Kensi hurrying towards him, her relief obvious.

"Everyone ok?" he asked, and she nodded quickly.

"Yeah, he didn't stick her, and I don't think he had a chance to infect anyone else," Kensi replied quickly. "I have the hospital guards keeping everyone around just in case-Deeks, you're bleeding."

Kensi's voice rose sharply, and she made a move towards him. Deeks stepped back before she made contact, displaying his wrist briefly. Blood was beginning to run down his hand now; he pressed it to his shirt, not wanting to spread it anywhere else.

"Yeah, I, uh, I'm pretty sure he had a vial in his pocket, and it broke when I tackled him," Deeks explained, surprised how calm he sounded. "We need to call the CDC."

A/N: Perhaps this is a wee bit dramatic and unrealistic.
