I have written a few of these stories but none stuck... I think I have cracked the code, but who knows?

Naruto, the moment he fell asleep, exactly one month after going on his trip with Jiraiya, fell into that weird place in his head with the Kyuubi sealed within. Looking for the Fox, he saw him looking angrily but not at him... at a woman with the most beautiful red hair, dressed in a ANBU looking clothes with her hair hair in a ponytail. She oozed power and beauty, like Tsunade did only this woman seemed scarier for some reason and so familiar it hurt.

"Hello, Naruto." She said, walking towards him, smiling warmly. "Do you know who I am?"

"YOU ARE THE KYUUBI IN HUMAN FORM!" He barked out, only to get wacked on the head.

"I AM YOUR OTHER, YOU KNOW! BELIEVE IT!"

Something in Naruto's chest cracked. "You said you know... believe it..."

She smiled more and nodded. "It's a family trait, your grandpa did that too." She easily accepted it when Naruto threw himself at her, crying into her chest.

"I've always wanted to meet you, Mom."

She petted his head, kissing his forehead softly. "And I you, Naruto... but now is not the time for tears. I have some dark news, some good news and some scolding to do." She turned and clicked her fingers, the seal holding the Fox shimmered into pure energy that wrapped around the Fox's neck. The Fox looked at her with shock. "That the best I can do until Naruto is better at mental jutsu and sealing. It will allow you more freedom, or well less restriction. With that, please listen. You are affected by this tale too."

To Naruto's shock, the Fox sat down, looking at Naruto and his mom with curiosity. " I will listen, Kushina."

A wave of energy washed through the place and Naruto realized they were no longer seeing a basement-like place covered in water but a library with a lot of empty looking bookshelves.

Naruto was sitting on a chair, next to his mother. "We have so little time, but since I am not repressing Kyuubi's chakra, I can give you about ten minutes... I will be fast. You are in danger, not just because of the Akatsuki, but because of a man that attacked when you were born and pulled Kyuubi out of me the day you were born. He forced the Fox to attack the Leaf."

Naruto gaped. "You had the Fox too?"

"The Fox has been a prisoner to the Leaf for over a century... a slave. It was only through watching your life that I realized how much of a victim he was, not just us... it is why I hold no grudge for him taking my or your father's lives. We were sealing him into you, but who would want to be sealed away into an infant after eighty-five years of imprisonment." Naruto opened his mouth to interrupt, but she stopped him with a glare. "I don't have much time, let me speak.

Now, the man that attacked had a powerful Time space ninjutsu that could slip past a powerful barrier your father the Fourth Hokage, and I set up. It should have been hard but he managed it without effort. He killed the Third's wife, your midwife actually. and kidnapped me through that same powerful time space ninjutsu. He tore the Fox from me and controlled him. That takes skill, power and experience. A mastery of Genjutsu as well...

As you are, Naruto, you have no chance of fighting him. As you will be, relying on the Fox and Jiraiya who is not teaching you shit, you are going to die. I will not let that happen. You will live a long, old life happily! So, you need to get stronger, but in secret. Train in secret under Jiraiya for the next few years, do not let him discover your true path. He will stop you, force you to rely on the Fox.

Now, you need to learn a lot. You'll need to increase your speed, strength, reflexes and all of it, but especially our chakra control and genjutsu resistance and sealing. Your father and I prepared about a hundred scrolls for you, well I did most of it, to be honest. I am one of the last of our clan, the Uzumaki, and there was a real good chance I would die giving birth. So I prepared scrolls for you to read and master, they are in the village but I can summon them. To be honest, I never fully trusted the village to not steal my secrets, they were not very good to me either due to being a foreigner. It will take the rest of my chakra to summon the scrolls, but with it you will be prepared...

I wish I could spend more time with you, but I do not have the luxury. I must arm you with the tools you need to fight, not be your mom and for that I am eternally sorry... " She turned teary-eyed to the Fox. "Can you help him, give him the help and guidance he needs to help himself and you? If you do this, my scrolls will give him the means to one day free you."

The Fox blinked, eyes wide with disbelief. "You would free me?"

"If it means saving my son, there is little I would not do."

"I can sense your truth... boy, will you fulfill your mother's oath?"

Naruto nodded, slowly, with confidence. "If my mom says I should then I will, Believe it!"

They all laughed, even the Fox. " Then we have a partnership... Kushina, Naruto."

Kushina stood and grabbed Naruto, pulling him into a warm hug. "I need to take over your body for a moment, but you will have the means to grow soon."

"Okay."

A Fireplace, to their right, erupted into vast flames as Kushina vanished. Naruto saw himself wake up and rush out of the room with a drunken Jiraiya. She reached a random clearing and bit his fingers. She wrote a seal that he could not understand, on his right pectoral. "Only we will see this, Naruto, it is bound by blood and chakra. Now... with the last of my chakra... " She slammed her hand onto the ground and five massive scrolls appeared. Each one numbered one to five. "Each one has twenty scrolls, containing a training regimen that I created and cultivated from my Uzumaki upbringing and experience as a Leaf Ninja. Minato added his speed training, some sealing stuff and wind chakra training. He would have added more but he became Hokage and was far too busy... it also contains a training blade, you will need to buy a real blade once you are ready. I love you Naruto, now and forever... follow the scrolls in order... and please, restudy history and ninja rules, all of the academy stuff, you are so behind baby. If you want to be Hokage, like your Father, then you need to be smart not just powerful. Wise not just strong. Please, make your goals come true and do not rely on just one thing... eat your vegetables, study hard and do not whine. I have seen your past, you whined a lot, you need to grow Naruto. The world is not friendly... if you are to survive... you have to be better... grow and be amazing...

I love you..."

And with that, Naruto's body collapsed as his mother's chakra vanished, leaving him alone with just the Fox and the scrolls.

Sniffing, Naruto started to seal all but the first scroll away. "So what now?"

"Start your training, brat... with scroll one and move on from there..." The Fox said. "What your mother did, even I respect it... we do not have much time, two and a half years until you are no longer under Jiraiya's protection. You need every second to get strong enough to overcome those that seeks to destroy you and control my power. We need to train every second we can. When you are not training with the scrolls, come to my prison and we will work on your academic pursuits and spar. That should help you. Now... as I said, start with the first scroll."

Naruto opened the massive scroll and saw twenty seals, numbered one to twenty. Above it he saw his mother had a message.

Start with scrolls one to five for the first three months. They are scrolls on conditioning, taijutsu, kenjutsu, Seal basics and chakra control.

He opened the first one with his chakra and saw it was a scroll on conditioning. Opening the rest, he saw his mother's words were right. The scroll on taijutsu came with weights, the scroll on Kenjutsu came with a training blade, dull but weighted well. He could not help but smile, bright and broad.

"With this, I can be strong... with this I will be awesome!"

The Fox sighed. "Have your clones read the scrolls while you work on your conditioning. Have a few clones be on the look out for Jiraiya."

"Good idea... mom didn't want him to find out about my training... wonder why?"

"He only wants you to rely on my power, he is not to be trusted. Besides, he tossed you down a cliff, do you really trust him?"

Naruto frowned. "No... I guess not."

"Now get started, put on your weights and start your training."

If I were Kushina, the last Uzumaki and likely to die Kunoichi, I would have written those scrolls... I mean the last of a major clan, an entire way of life? Why wouldn't she make those scrolls...
