Hero's Journey

He hated the way everyone looked at him, fear and hatred in every glare or look, it'd been like that ever since the accident 3 years ago, but it was fine, once he became the #1 hero then they'd all stop looking at him like that, plus, saving people was also super cool in his opinion and this way he'd also be able to make his parents proud (AU, will only cover up to the anime)

1. Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Naruto's start line

A blond boy roughly 15 years old judging by his height dragged himself out of bed, he had yellow hair, cerulean blue eyes, and three whisker-like marks on both of his cheeks "guess I'd better get ready for the day 'ttebayo" the blond yawned out while taking off his nightcap.

A few minutes later the same teenager could be seen exiting a small apartment, he wore Konoha middle school's summer uniform which consisted of a short sleeve white dress shirt, black slacks, dress shoes of matching color, and a green tie that had a small flame pattern on it "I better hurry up and go to the train station, I'll get a run in after taking the exam 'ttebayo"

2 hours later: U. A. High School gates

Naruto was admiring the gates, he'd gotten here early because of the train's schedule, the school was massive, it looked more like the building where a large company would do business, they even had an elevated section connecting both of the other buildings!

"Man, this is gonna be so awesome 'ttebayo, I can't wait to go here!" The teenager said confidently as he approached the site where he'd need to take the written exam in….an hour, man trains sucked sometimes, but at least it gave him some time to look over the flashcards that Sakura-chan had lent him.

4 hours later: U.A. High School assembly hall

"I'm so fucked" Naruto tough as he sat down inside of the assembly hall whit his head down "I didn't even understand half of the questions, Sakura-chan's gonna kill me" the blond then raised his head as all of the murmuring and indistinct chatter around him stopped.

What he saw was a man in a leather jacket whit a large set of speakers around his neck, a pair of awesome orange shades, and blonde hair styled in a way that made it seem as if the man had a titanic cowlick, it was Present Mic, one of the world's many pro heroes and a teacher at U.A.

"Welcome everyone to my live show!" Present Mic shouted the moment the lights turned on, a large smile on his face as he thrusted both hands out to either side of him, jabbing his fingers at the waiting crowd of candidates, his voice sounding out loud and overly enthusiastic. "Everybody say HEY!"

"Hey!" Was the lone voice of Naruto, his already normally loud voice being amplified by the silence of everyone else around him, most of whom turned to look at the whiskered teen like he'd grown a second head Present Mic only smiled tough.

"Eyyyyy! Seems like at least one of you guys is excited," the blond man said, "now then, let's get this show on the road!" Present Mic finished saying while striking a pose.

"Okay now, I want you all to pay attention, as I'm only going to be saying this once!" Present Mic shouted, his voice amplified by the speakers around his neck as he struck yet another dramatic pose before continuing with his speech. "Now the physical part of the exams will be testing whether you have the skills to be a hero! After this briefing, you will be going to one of U.A.'s replica-city districts! You can take whatever equipment you want, just gather at your designated meeting area after my presentation!"

Naruto quickly fished out the registration card that also served as a visitor pass to allow him to enter the school, on it there was a picture of him, his name, his age, quirk name, blood type, and a large D that marked what district he'd be going to "heeeh, so I got D" his smile grew a bit "D for dattebayo" the teen snickered as he noticed the coincidence.

"There'll be loads of faux-villains spread all over the battlefields and each one will be rated as either a one, two, or three-pointer, depending on what type it is! Your job is to use your quirk to take out as many of them as you can and rack up a high score! But there are rules, you can't attack other competitors directly! That's nasty anti-hero stuff and will see any student doing it, disqualified!" Present Mic shouted out again, outlining the rules even as several large overhead screens powered up at his words, showing the dark outlines of three different robots, each of which had a number from one to three inside of the outlines.

Naruto just grinned even wider than before "so it's like an arcade game, in that case" he clenched his fist in determination, accidentally crushing his registration card "I'm going to get the top score 'ttebayo!"

"May I ask a question?" A firm voice said from whiting the crowd, a spotlight shining on the speaker after Present Mic gave the okay sign to one of the people in charge of lighting, revealing the speaker to be a very tall teenager whit dark blue hair, who was wearing a pair of glasses and a tan jacket that was part of his school uniform.

"On the printout, there are four types of villains," the young man said before continuing "if that is a misprint, then U.A., the most prominent school in Japan, should be ashamed of the foolish mistake."

"They had printouts?" Naruto wondered out loud to himself, where had they been, he'd been here longer than almost everyone but hadn't so much as noticed a place where he could get one….unless he left it at home.

"We examinees are here on this place because we wish to be moved into exemplary heroes." The blue-haired boy continued his speech, either unaware or uncaring of the weird looks some of the other students sent him, "In addition, you there whit the curly hair–" he said turning around and pointing at a rather plain-looking kid who had curly green hair "you've even muttering this whole time. It's distracting! If you're here on a pleasure trip, then you should leave immediately!" The ranting boy said, causing the plain-looking kid to muttered out an apology, before then pointing at Naruto "and you! Your constant talking is even worse than his muttering! I'll tell you the same thing that I told him, if you're here just to have fun then you should leave" he finished whit a cold glare.

Unfortunately for him however Naruto wasn't as shy as the other kid, and was more than willing to call the taller teen out "And who are you to say that I'm only here to have fun?!" The blond yelled out, a second spotlight shining on him, as he punched the palm of his hand, crumbling the paper registration card even more so than before "I've been training all of my life to get in here so I can become the number one hero!" Naruto continued yelling out, clearly quite mad at the moment, "so if anything I'm way more serious about this than most people here!" As proof, Naruto took off his tie, and thrusted it forwards "I even had to reject my sister school's test to come here, and Konoha high-school has is one of the top 10 best hero schools in the country, but I don't just want to be in the top ten, I want to be the best dattebayo!, and for that, I need to get into this school, so yeah, sorry for crushing whatever hope you had to scare me into leaving, but I'm more serious about this than you know!"

"Okay, okay, Examinees 7111, and 1267, both of you sit down," Present Mic said before either the bespectacled boy or the guy who was sitting next to the green-haired kid could say anything to the Konoha middle school student since he didn't want a fight to break out after both of the students sat down the pro hero continued "anyways, the fourth type of villain is worth zero points." The screen above the blonde man began to show another outline "That guy's an obstacle, so to speak. There's one of them in every battle center, it's not impossible to defeat, but there's no reason to do so either. I recommend that you all try to avoid it." The flashy hero finished explaining "now them, that's all from me, but first, I'll give everyone here a present–our school motto!" He said before preparing to strike another pose "The hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said: "A true hero is someone who overcomes life's misfortunes." Go beyond." He then took a deep breath before shouting the motto at the roof "PLUS ULTRA!" The screen behind him showing the motto in bold letters.

AN: Hello everyone, hope that yall enjoy this chapter of this new series, the second one will be coming out soon-ish, now then, I'll be telling you guys about a couple of the more major changes that are gonna be occurring: first and foremost Sato (sugar rush) is the unlucky student getting replaced by Naruto, yes, yes, I know, some of yall think it'd be better if I replaced him whit Mineta, but honestly, I'd rather write Mineta than I would Sato, the guy's just not got that much going for him apart from cooking as a hobby, and his quirk is pretty similar to the one I'm thinking about giving to Naruto, apart from that, the rivalry between Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki will now be including Naruto as he very much also wants to become the #1 hero, and lastly, just know that because Naruto is part of the class he won't necessarily be part of every arc (Stain arc for example) instead you'll be getting completely original stuff for what Naruto will be doing during those arcs, soooo yeah, thats it from me hope you guys enjoyed it and ill see yall on the next one.
