.: Her Castle in the Air :.

There dwells a castle in the sky,
Unseen by jets or passers-by.
The moon and stars witnessed its birth,
Half-step of Heaven and the Earth.

As guards depart the mortal plane
To one day walk the world again,
They rest upon the stone-spun walls
And hear the small birds' honeyed calls.

And time has no such meaning there;
I pass the days without much care
In this air castle in my mind,
A place no other soul should find.

The keep of hope, of dreams, of love,
Where sunlight raindrops dwell above,
Where I, in sadness and dismay,
May seek upon to hide away,

Where love's an everlasting spark,
To warm me in the lonely dark,
Where rains pure diamonds, once or twice,
Where imperfection will suffice.

There's no such thing as hate or tears,
And no one jests me for my fears.
This castle living in my head
Lives only while I'm in my bed.

Before I pass into my dreams
Before I wake to warm sunbeams,
This fire in the darksome night
Remains the lantern for my light.

For this dream castle is, you see,
My only form of sanctity,
So when the waves are rushing, crashing
And the winds of life are thrashing,

Have no doubt that you will find
Me in my castle in my mind.
