Well Disney, you've done it again. Once again, you've created a sitcom so amazing that I have no choice but to write for it. That's right, today its time for Good Luck Charlie!

And shockingly, its not a Spendy story ( I know, brave right? ) Instead I'm doing a PJ x Skylar story. Now keep in mind that I just started season 2 so this is like 80-98% AU.

One more thing, any and all businesses in this story are entirely fictitious and are in no way real. The same goes for most streets.

Enjoy!

PJ Duncan wasn't a planner or controlling like his mother. He wasn't as lazy as his father, smart and driven like Teddy or…evil like Gabe. In the eyes of most of the people he knew, he was the kid that got left behind. His grades were admittedly average, C+++'s being seen by Bob and Amy as more of a divine miracle than anything else.

Nevertheless, despite what people thought about him, friends and family included. He had managed to graduate high school, without having to sleep with any of his teachers nor having to bribe any of them. Gabe still found this to be way too suspicious and was convinced that PJ had bribed his way through, although deep down he was proud of his big brother.

After his narrow passing of secondary education, he, along with his best friend Emmet Heglin had opened a food truck in the South High parking lot called P&E's perfect eats, primarily serving classic American dishes with weird names at what Amy referred to as '' first house-level prices.''

Unfortunately for PJ, he began to notice that Emmet had begun to lose interest in the business, he would show up to the truck 2 hours late, refused to help with food preparation and took way too many breaks to justify his working hours. Naturally, PJ's first instinct was to fire Emmet, but he couldn't. Emmet was his best friend, they'd been through everything together, how do you fire the guy who raced babies with you? It also didn't help that he needed Emmet's odd brand of creativity to make up menu items. The kid could cook but he was definitely no Edgar Alan Poe. Thankfully though, he didn't have to have the awkward conversation of terminating Emmet's employment since the former drummer had quit! He claimed that he didn't want to work with Gordon Ramsay Jnr and had decided to follow his true calling…teaching music.

With his best friend now gone, PJ soon realized that besides ideas, he also needed Emmet's help with the costs of running the truck itself, somehow the new batch of South High kids found him irresistible. So sadly, P&E's perfect eats had to close up, leaving PJ destitute.

But all wasn't lost for the out of work teenager, at a hospital function, Amy had forced PJ to cater, claiming it would be good for his self-confidence as well as allow him to make some quick cash as well. Not being one to pass up an offer like that, PJ catered, soon catching the eye of one of the hospital's biggest donor; Morgan LeMonte. He was a huge deal in the culinary world, owning restaurants from the northern tundra of frigid Canada to the blazing sands of Tangiers. He was looking to open a new one in Denver but was short one entry-level chef, all it took was one of PJ's pastas for him to get the job.

From then on, to seemed as though everything was going his way, except for one thing, well, one person; Skylar Phoenix. She had moved to New York a few years ago and had been forced to break up with him, that wound hadn't healed. She would've loved the restaurant he worked at. None of the items on the menu were too wordy and anyone who PJ knew got a 5% discount on anything they wanted, plus free appetizers.

His love for Skylar had in fact been resurfacing lately, the most recent of which being last Tuesday. A celebration dinner for Teddy and Spencer tying the knot. A knot that Charlie passionately hated. Even though she wasn't even 2 when it happened, she still remembered what Spencer had done to Teddy, those video diaries didn't lie. Those tears were real.

'' Alright, we need 3 beef wellingtons, all well done, according to the waitress who gave this order, if there's any pink on the meat she's sending it back!'' a tall, portly chef yelled to his kitchen staff.

'' So she hates flavor basically?'' came a snarky response, a laugh being earnt quite quickly.

'' PJ, I love your jokes kid, but these are some high end customers, you should know, the Duncans are your family after all.''

'' Wait? So, you're PJ Duncan, as in, pop sensation Teddy Duncan's brother?'' another, much scrawnier and shorter chef added.

'' Yes? Why?''

'' I was at her last concert in Boulder, there's a video of me on the internet, its called Fan has episode of manic excitement and faints in 30 seconds. I think you were there too, crying.''

'' What? Mitchell you really need to wake up my friend.''

'' No, I remember know, she sang Desperate, you were two rows ahead of me, crying like a little girl.''

'' Nope, not me'' PJ denied, gathering ingredients from nearby pantries.

'' Yes it was, you were there with some weirdo, kind of looked like a loser version of Sam Jackson in the right light. You kept yelling out the name Skylar and you went into the fetal position for the next hour and a half.''

'' Yeah…ok'' PJ breathed, ignoring the voice nagging at him as he began slicing steak. Yet it was done in a very odd way, they were all cut into the shape of the letter s.''

'' Nice work PJ, surgeon-precise as always-hey, what's with the new style?'' the obese chef asked.

'' Rodney, what're you talking about, this is the usual way I-oh, that's odd'' PJ looked at the food in front of him.

'' What's with the slicing kiddo? You've been weird for a few weeks now, your moods go from happy to sad faster than my ex-wife goes from man to man.''

'' Its nothing Rodney honestly. In fact, I'm fine.''

'' Kid, don't you lie to me now, I may be your friend, but I'm also your boss, now tell what's going on or…'' Rodney picked up a nearby cleaver and launched in into a hanging cutting board. ''…That'll be you.''

'' Fine, I miss my ex girlfriend.''

'' So do I, she was kind, rich, beautiful and owned seven different cars, why Brenda why?!''

'' Brenda? I thought we were talking about my problems?''

'' Huh, oh yeah, why do you miss her so much, was the sex that good?''

'' What, ew, no! We just connected on an emotional level, the only reason we even split up is because she had to move to New York. If not, I was going to give her this'' PJ dug in his jeans pocket and produced a golden ring.

'' Promise ring? Kind of old school, I respect that.''

'' Thanks, only thing is, I have no idea where in New York she is, I don't have the cash to afford a ticket there and with that new Italian place opening up across the street, Morgan's riding us harder than ever. I even got a text from him saying that from now on we get bathroom breaks ever 5 hours, apparently the UTIs will be motivation.''

'' Ah jeez, I can't believe I'm even doing this. PJ listen, you got some serious culinary skills, so hold on'' Rodney made the boy follow him into his office, where he gave PJ a pamphlet.''

'' What is this?''

'' That my friend is a winter internship program at a new seafood restaurant in Manhattan, guess who its run by?''

'' Morgan?''

'' Nope. Gordon Ramsay himself.''

'' Seriously?''

'' Yep. LeMonte told me to give this to whichever of my chefs was the most promising, so guess who I picked?''

'' Mitchell. His spaghettini is to die for.''

'' First of all, I'm picking you. Secondly, its noteworthy at best- hey where are you going?'' Rodney asked.

'' To tell my family, this is awesome!''

'' Who would've thought that 10 years ago, I'd have met my future fiancée?'' Spencer asked, his arm around Teddy.

'' Not me'' Charlie murmured.

'' Hey, good one'' Gabe complimented.

'' Gabe, Charlie, enough.

'' Its fine, after what happened I kind of deserve it'' Spencer said meekly.

'' Kind of'' the youngest Duncan daughter rolled her eyes.

'' Hey! Great news!'' PJ shouted, dashing to his family's table, narrowly knocking down a nearby busboy.

'' You'll be checking that guy for a concussion?'' Teddy asked.

'' What-oh. Nah, he'll be fine. Anyway guess what?'' PJ said, his smile big enough to crack his face.

'' MENSA called back?'' Gabe said sarcastically.

'' Hilarious little brother, hilarious. Anyway, the restaurant's owner Morgan LeMonte gave the head chef an internship in New York at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants. Long story short, the head chef Rodney got to pick one of his chefs to go and he picked me! I'm going to be spending winter in New York!''

'' That's amazing'' the family said, followed by rounds of applause.

'' Congratulations PJ, who knows, maybe you'll be a head chef yourself someday'' Teddy smiled as she made her brother follow her outside.

'' What gives? Its 9.8 degrees out here!'' PJ said, shivering.

'' I know why you're taking that internship.''

'' Oh yeah? Why?''

'' You're going so you can find Skylar aren't you?''

'' What? No, why would you think that-ok maybe a little bit'' PJ stammered. '' But can you blame me, we went together like peanut butter and jelly.''

'' Of course not, she was so into you that the battle of the bands almost ended. So, I have something for you'' Teddy grabbed her brother's phone and typed something in it.

'' 42, Arnott Street. Manhattan?''

'' You'll see what it is big brother'' Teddy smirked.

Ooh, what is it? Thanks for reading everybody, as usual, stay safe and stay awesome!
