I have an idea to give Naruto a lot of skills but I need some more, read this and pass on your suggestions. One I have used a few times but it is the only one that makes sense.
Six months into the training trip, the Land of Rice, One of Orochimaru's labs.
"AHHH!" Naruto screamed as the creature before him bit him, something foul burning through his blood, leaving him unable to move.
"Naruto, duck!" He heard Jiraiya say, but he could not move as the man slammed home a rasengan into the beast's face, killing it instantly and sending Naruto flying. Jiraiya caught him, holding him fast.
Naruto wanted to claw at his throat, but before he could say a word, darkness took him...
And then the world came back, only he was looking at himself, small and in a crowd... he was wearing a tan shirt with a spiral on it.
"I was so alone..." He heard himself say, pained and crying. "They hated me for nothing... for breathing, for having the Fox. They wouldn't let me play with them... their kids. They wouldn't let me into shops, or they overcharged me..." His other one rubbed his face, and Naruto's older heart broke open, the gate he held in his chest unable to deal with the strain. "They hated me for something not my fault..."
Naruto, older Naruto, begged. "It's okay, life got better, we have people that care now! Like Pervy Sage, The Old Lady, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Iruka!"
The younger him sighed. "The man who threw us down a cliff and regularly abandons us to whore and drink, who has yet to teach us anything more than to rely on the Fox and the Rasengan? The Woman that hit us and hurt us. The boy who broke our neck, stabbed us with a chidori... the girl who abuses us and mocked us for being an orphan, the senseis who never taught us, one that favored Sasuke, the other we rarely saw? When did we have anyone...?"
Naruto gaped, the words searing his soul, unable to be denied as they came from within. "No! I... I can't... the Old Man, he loved us!"
"He left us alone at four years old, rarely saw us or helped us, never had us adopted or anything... how can that be love?" The younger him looked up, eyes cold as the Land of Snow. There was a yellow edge to his eyes. "No one helped us, no one deserves us... we deserve better, don't you agree?"
Naruto took a step back as the younger him stepped forward. "No, I ..."
Small hands grabbed his shirt and pulled him down. "WE WERE ALONE WITH NO ONE, WE STILL HAVE NO ONE! WHY DON'T GET THAT? EVEN YOUR DREAM TO BE HOKAGE IS A HALLOW ONE, BORN SOLELY OF THE URGE TO BE LOVED, BUT NO ONE WILL EVER LOVE US! WHY CAN'T YOU GET THAT?"
Naruto screamed right back. "CAUSE IF I DO THEN I WILL HAVE TO ADMIT THAT NOTHING HAS CHANGED, THAT I AM STILL A FAILURE, ALONE WITH NO ONE!"
The younger Naruto sighed. "Then be more... make yourself more... Naruto." The voice shifted, turning oddly familiar. "Be more and be greater, do not let the failings of others be your failings... grow and become more. Make yourself strong, make a dream that belongs only to you... make yourself a better path that is only yours... become more... and if people refuse to love you... then screw them. You deserve better."
And just that like, it all shattered and Naruto woke up, with a scowling Jiraiya looking at him from across a fire. "I wondered when you'd wake up, how do you feel?"
Naruto opened his mouth to tell the tale of his weird vision, only to remember how little Jiriaya really cared for him... "I am fine, sore but fine." He sat up and saw that he was mostly naked, only wearing his boxers. "What happened, I don't remember much?"
"We found a base of Orochimaru's, I presumed it was abandoned, you rushed in and caught up with a beast. It contained an unstable form of the Curse mark. The Fox purged the mark but you proved able to contain one, you had the Curse Mark of Earth, the exact opposite of Sasuke's mark."
Naruto nodded, his heart weary and darker than ever. Looking at Jiraiya used to bring joy, annoyance, but joy... now it just brought sorrow and hate and resentment a mile wide. Things, dark thoughts, he had buried for so long burned at his heart but he kept them contained.
"I am sorry, I shouldn't have rushed ahead." He said.
"You are an idiot, but I am glad you are alive. Get some more sleep, kid, we are behind a day of travel."
Naruto nodded and turned over, shivering with confused hate. 'I need more training, to be good, to be powerful, to be great. To have the power to make any dream a reality, I need to be safe from the Akatsuki... but how... how can I train? I cannot be away from Jiraiya, I hate him but he is protecting me. I need something, some way to learn.'
From deep within him, he heard the Fox's laughter. 'Why not go to the Monks, they are not far from here, and they have many scrolls that can be stolen for training... There is one, a minor and barely protected one, six miles east from here, you could steal from it and train in secret and no one would know the difference.'
Naruto frowned. 'I can't leave, the Pervy Sage would know?'
'Not if you use Shadow clones...'
Naruto should have said something to Jiraiya, reported the Fox and the hallucination... but he could not. He, through the visions he saw, lost any respect he once had for Jiraiya... the false veil of love had evaporated, leaving Naruto filled with hate and the desire to finally stand for himself...
Standing, he walked over. "I am going to Pee." He walked out, fifty paces and quickly summoned a clone with a whisper. "The Fox will lead you." he whispered and it vanished, rushing off while Naruto peed and returned to their campsite. He got into his sleeping bag and slowly pretended to fall asleep.
All the while, six miles away, his clone was sneaking past a set of walls and into the library of a Monastery. With skills produced from years of pranking, he easily stoles over a dozen scrolls and hurried away, only after stealing a few other random things at the Fox's suggestion to make it look like a bigger attack and focus his way back to the real Naruto, hiding the scrolls in a tree for the Real Naruto to get to when he woke up. Before he burst into nothing, the Fox said.
'Read a scroll, your real self will remember it when he wakes up...'
And so that is what the clone did, reading a scroll on Rice Country Monk style taijutsu... all the night long, so that when Naruto awoke, he had something to start training in...
Setting him on a path to greatness he would never quite be able to comprehend.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
