The rain poured heavily from the very gloomy clouds. Thunder rumbled lowly and each drop of rain that fell on each roof of a house made pattering noise. The temperature dropped a little to hard that even inside the Shinonome household started to get colder.
In the living room, there laid a blanket-covered Sakamoto, close to Yuuko and Hakase who were sorting and folding the clothes and then putting them in another basket. Another thunder rumbled so low that it made the ground shake a little as if a god fell out from the sky.
The feline whimpered and kept on rolling around and burying himself into the blanket aggressively to keep warming himself. The air conditioners and fans were not even switched on since the beginning of the day and it wasn't enough to prevent the house from freezing, "I hate this weather," complained Sakamoto, "It sucks!"
The girls giggled at how cute the black cat was throwing a fit over the weather.
"You know Sakamoto-san, it's not as bad as it is," Yuuko told him, trying to lift his spirits. "If the rain keeps up until the whole night, you could actually fall asleep peacefully to the sound of the rain."
"Funny, hearing you say that kind of makes me feel sleepy now," Sakamoto muttered with a tone of half sarcasm.
"And the best part," Hakase said as she embraced herself with her long sleeves of the uniform. "You can get warm and cozy in a nice comfortable blanket without breaking a sweat."
Yuuko and Hakase let out a breath of satisfaction at the thought of getting cozy in a blanket.
"Honestly," Sakamoto thought to himself. "My previous owner never pampered me with such things. Yet I didn't notice the comfy blanket the kids gave me because I was busy throwing my tantrum." He relaxed and settled himself properly into his blanket and put his frustrations aside. He laid there a little longer to get used to the sounds of pouring rain. "You know what, this isn't so bad," the feline sighed with content and let his eyelids shut on their own and sweet dreams overtook him.
"Aw, Sakamoto-san is asleep," Hakase said softly, trying not to wake the feline.
Yuuko hummed with agreement as she placed the last of the clothes in the basket. "All right, Hakase. Wanna let me to put these in your bedroom?"
The eight year old child nodded enthusiastically. "Yep!" She stood up and ran down the hallway giggling playfully. "Follow me!"
"Wait, Hakase! Don't run in the hallway!" Yuuko called out, catching up behind Hakase.
"I wanna fluffy blueberry pancake~" Sakamoto muttered sleepily.
