Hello everyone, Dbs10830 here. This is my second fanfic, an idea I was fiddling around for a long time. So, here it is. An MHA x Street Fighter fanfic. Actually, there are going to be a few more crossovers in it. But all of it will be revealed as we further continue. I hope everyone enjoys the chapter. Now without further adeu.

Disclaimer: I do not own any franchise used in this fic. They are owned by their respective owners and any extra information added does not affect the original series. I am not doing this to make a profit out of this and the story writing is done for the sake of doing it for pleasure.

Chapter 1: A New Start

[Musutafu City: Aldera Middle School]

'Take a swan dive off the roof and pray for a quirk in the next life.'

A young boy around 14 years of age sniffled as recalled the words of his best friends/bully from before.

'Seriously Kacchan? Do you not understand how much problem it can get you into if I followed your advice!' the boy thought.

The boy in question was a little short for his age. With a scrawny body, green fluffy hair which can be described as an international mess, a set of emerald green eyes. And four symmetrical freckles adorning either side of his slightly chubby cheeks.

He wore a middle school gakuran, which looked a little burnt on his left shoulder, holding a notebook on his chest as he sniffled a bit trying to control his emotions.

This is Midoriya Izuku, the hero of our story.

'Why does he always single me out. All I want is to be a hero. Does he really hate me that much? What did I even do wrong?'

These were the thoughts in the mind of our young hero.

Ever since his childhood best friend, Bakugou Katsuki awakened his quirk, he started to change for worse. All the praise he got from his peers and adults alike got in his head, cementing that he is going to be the no. 1 hero.

'Well, they are not wrong about that. With that quirk and Kacchan's genius he'll definitely make a top hero. Even some of his actions are… no no no no! Don't think like that! Kacchan is going to be the best hero possible. I mean he has a strong and versatile quirk. He is a genius when using it. I shouldn't question him, even if he does rough house me a little bit… he must be having a rough day or is he…' Izuku trailed off in his thoughts, fully aware that what his friend turned/bully is doing is wrong, yet for some reason he is unable to fully come in terms to it.

In a world where 80% of the population is born with a superpower called quirk. He was born with none. He thought of the day, when he was declared as quirkless, how everything crashed around him. Teachers slowly started to favour the kids with the quirk, he was most of the times ignored. The kids started teasing him for being quirkless, granted it started as harmless one. His dad went missing, his mom started to blame herself to blame for his quirklesness.

Soon, as we started getting older, those harmless teasing turned into harassment and bullying. With his childhood friend/bully Bakugou Katsuki in the centre of this.

"A MESSAGE IS HERE! A MESSAGE IS HERE!"

He shook his head as he noticed a message from his mom.

MOM

Izuku dear, I sent you a list of ingredients for dinner. I have some urgent work to do, so I hope you don't have a problem with it.

Love you dear

And please be careful when coming home.

He smiled at the message. His mother has been a constant support in his life. He shook his head as he saw a tunnel in front of him.

"If I take the tunnel, it might take me a bit too long to get home." He then looked around and noticed, "I'll take a shortcut."

He went into a nearby alleyway, not knowing this might change his life entirely.

{Time-skip: Midoriya Household}

Izuku arrived at his apartment as he finished the shopping.

"Oh God! I got the final box of Hero Flakes, from the special edition. Wonder which trading card I'll get." Izuku thought all giddy at the prospect of getting a card with top 10 pros.

He entered his home as heard his mother humming and singing a familiar song.

Habata itara modoranai to ittte
Mezashita no wa aoi aoi ano sora

Kanashimi wa mada oboerarezu
Setsunasa wa ima tsukami hajimeta
Anata e to daku kono kanjou mo
Ima kotoba ni kawatte iku

Michi naru sekai no yume kara mezamete
Kono hane wo hiroge tobitatsu

Habata itara modoranai to itte
Mezashita no wa shiroi shiroi ano kumo
Tsukinuketara mitsukaru to shitte

Aoi aoi ano sora
Aoi aoi ano sora

He snorted a bit as he listened to the tune. Apparently, his mom loved the anime and manga from the pre-quirk era, not that he blames her, they were just really that good.

"I'm home Mom!" Izuku called out.

He then heard some footsteps towards him, as he saw his mother getting out of the kitchen.

She is a slightly short chubby lady, with green hair done in a pony tail with green eyes akin to her son.

"Welcome home Izuku." Inko smiled at her son.

"Here Mom, the groceries." Izuku handed the bag to Inko as he flopped on the sofa nearby.

"Sorry dear for making you go for the shopping." Inko said as she took the bag from her son.

Izuku shook his head, "It's alright Mom, I can at least do this much."

"Alright dear. How about you go and take a bath while I prepare some snacks for you." Inko suggested.

"Sure Mom!" Izuku then left to his room.

As she watched her son's retreating figure, her expression changed to worry. While Izuku may try and hide it, she definitely noticed his uniform a little burned on his shoulder. And it's not the first time it happened. But for some reason her son never confided to her. She had an inkling to what was happening to her son. She went to his school to demand the answers, only for them to dismiss her claims saying she was overreacting.

She sighed and went to her chores.

{With Izuku}

Izuku hissed in pain as he poured water on his shoulder, where a small burn mark was present. He was used to things like these, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt any less. After washing himself properly he sighed as he entered his room, filled with All Might posters.

He blushed as he remembered when his mother joked how he is more interested in All Might rather than a girl. It's not like he is not interested in girls, it's just… who would befriend someone like him, a quirkless. He snapped himself out of that, not wanting to be anywhere near that depressing train of thoughts.

He again looked at his room, filled with hero merchandise with the most prominent one being of All Might, his idol. Someone he aspired to be like. He wanted to be a hero, just like him.

'Ha! Someone like you a hero? Get real Deku.'

He a heard a familiar voice of a blonde-haired boy, taunting him in his head.

'You are nothing more than a quirkless, pathetic waste of space!' the voice again rang in his head.

'No! I am not!' Izuku denied mentally.

'What? Got hurt that I told the truth.' The voice rang again.

'It's not the truth!' Izuku denied.

'Well, it is. That is all you are. A freak of nature, who shouldn't even be dreaming of something.' The voice sneered in his head.

At this point Izuku's chest started hurting, 'I'm not useless!' he screamed mentally.

'Oh, you are. Think Deku think! All you are good at is being creepy with those stalkerish notebook of yours.' The voice kept mocking him in his head.

'They are not creepy!' Izuku started breathing heavily.

'Keep telling that to yourself. Remember Deku, whatever you try, all what you are is a pathetic, useless loser, who will never amount to anything in his life.' The voice scoffed in his head.

Tears started sprouting of Izuku's eyes, as he saw multiple shadows possessing red eyes jeering at him. He started remembering all those verbal jabs, mocking and beatings given to him all these years.

'Ha! Deku getting all confident. What a joke!'

'He is still living a fantasy.'

'Midoriya, you can never become a hero.'

'Honestly, I don't really think anyone will give him any job with how useless he is.'

'I know right, stupid Deku being the useless freak.'

'I-I a-am not u-useless. S-So shut u-up!' Izuku mentally screamed as tears poured down his cheeks. But the mocking voices never went away.

'I sometimes pity his mother. To be tied down by such a freak.'

'Yeah, she should just abandon him.'

'She must be with him out of guilt.'

'Maybe he should just die. Might as well give her some relief.'

'S-Shut up! Shut up! I said SHUT UP!' Izuku screamed as he hit his head on corner of the bed, falling on the ground. He clutched his head in pain, as he noticed his heavy breathing as sweat formed on his forehead and tears on his face.

He again went into the bathroom washing his face. He looked in the mirror and said in a very small voice, "I am not useless, I am not useless…"

He then composed himself, trying to get his breathing even, his heart still hammering against his chest as he left for the living room. Arriving he saw his mother with snacks watching news on TV.

"Oh my! I hope the girl is alright. Poor girl." Inko said as she looked worried at the TV.

"W-What happened Mom?" Izuku asked, still shaken a little bit from his previous panic attack.

Inko looked at him, "Oh! you arrived. Here have some." Inko gestured at the seat beside her as she offered him some rice crackers.

"It's just a villain appeared near the market street near your school. Apparently got hold of some poor girl, thank fully All might arrived in time and saved her."

"Huh!" Izuku snapped in pleasant surprise as he said, "All Might is in town!" He then looked at the newsfeed as he saw some of the heroes not being able to rescue a blonde-haired girl. At the end All Might came in and punched the villain so hard that it changed the weather.

"Mannn… I totally missed the chance to see All Might." Izuku whined. He then sighed and said, "At least the girl is safe. Hope she alright."

"Yeah, I hope so too." Inko agreed with her son.

Izuku too nodded his head as he started geeking out, "But still, All Might is so cool. He just changed weather in a single punch. What an incredible amount of force he must have generated to do that. I have to write it in my notebook so I can calculate the force behind that punch…." He trailed off with his muttering.

Inko sweatdropped at his usual antics, "Dear, how about you finish your snacks and then get into your theory." She told him.

"Sure mom." Izuku said as he started eating. Inko just looked at her son and smiled.

After a while Izuku stood up and started moving towards the door.

"Mom! I going out for a walk." Izuku said putting his shoes on.

"Dear, can you bring some miso sauce while you're out. I forgot to mention them in the list." Inko said.

"Sure Mom!" Izuku said as he went outside.

Sometime later Izuku can be seen getting out of a general store.

"Ok, I got all the things I needed." Izuku murmured.

He decided to take a different route than his usual one, getting some time for himself. He always enjoyed these walks, as it always makes him feel a bit good. Though they also make him feel lonely, which in hindsight is true. Afterall, he doesn't have a single friend, or more like no one wants to be friends with him.

He walked around seeing people engaging in their day today life, some college students talking about their career and so on.

'Career huh? Maybe I should also start to put some thought into it. U.A. entrance exam is still 4 years from now. It might give me an ample amount of time to train, but where should I even start. Maybe I should check up on those forums who give instructions about things like these.' Izuku thought

U.A. University, a big name when it comes to train heroes. And his dream university. There was a time when most of these hero universities were actually high school at a certain point of time. But due to high death rates of the graduates upon their graduation made the HPSC and the Hero schools to change their education system and turn the Hero schools into universities.

Deep in his thoughts, he didn't notice that he arrived at a certain place.

"Huh… When did I arrive here?" he questioned. He moved his gaze to the side and saw a huge pile of garbage dumped several meters along the shore. There was also an old sign board with "Dagobah Beach Park" written on it.

"It would've been such a good place to relax in their free time." Izuku said with a thoughtful frown. He didn't really understand some of the things, and dumping waste irresponsibly was one of them. Granted, his mom gave him a very strict lesson in those regards. But they were for good reasons, and seeing things like these made him understand why his mom was so adamant on those lesson.

"You're not wrong in that regards, young one." A deep, old and wise sounding voice spoke from his side, surprising him.

"Eeekkkkk!" he gasped a little as he took a step backwards, fumbling a little as he tried to maintain his balance.

"Ah, My apologies young one. It was not my intention to startle you." The same voice now apologised.

Izuku looked at the source of the voice and saw an elderly man sitting on a bench just besides him, with muscles as big as All Might. With a long white beard coming slightly up to his chest, with his hair done in a single braid. He also had an X shaped scar on his forehead. He wore a single sleeved grey coloured karate gi, showing most of his torso and prayer beads around his neck.

'Man, he looks scary.' Izuku thought, a bit scared of the man. His entire posture just screamed power. Yet at the same time, it also felt a sense peace around him. Someone you could feel safe with.

"… young one." He is brought out of his musings as he heard the elderly man calling him.

"Huh?" Izuku said.

"I asked are you alright, young one?" The elderly man asked, with concern written all over his face.

Realising he was just staring at the man without even answering him. It caused him to turn red, embarrassed at his behaviour.

"I-I a-am sorry for being rude a-and n-not answering y-you sir." Izuku hurriedly bowed in apology.

The elderly man just waved his apology with a hearty laugh, "Hahaha! no need to bow young one. As long as you're fine. I just got a bit concerned as you were just staring in space."

The reminder caused him to turn red, causing the old man to laugh harder.

"Though you are not wrong as you said. It was a good place to relax back in my day." The old man said with a nostalgic expression on his face.

"Really?" Izuku asked.

"Why yes, it was a beautiful place. A good place for meditation. I returned here after a very long time, so seeing this really made me sad." The old man said.

"W-Well, it was due to the ocean currents carrying the wastes dumped into them, slowly they gathered, seeing as no one ever cared to clean the beach, the residents around dump their own garbage here as well." Izuku iterated as he remembered reading an article about this.

"So, it turned into an illegal dump, huh?" the old man said with a sad sigh.

"You really liked this place." Izuku answered, somehow feeling calm around the elderly man.

"Hmm… yes, I have a few memories tied down to this place, good ones as well as a few bad ones." The old man's face turns nostalgic, he then shook his head, "Look at me babbling like a senile old fellow. But really bought me a nice change of pace when I needed one. It has been more than 10 years since I last visited this place, only to find this. It is really unfortunate people do not appreciate nature's beauty. To them it is just a way to get rid of their useless waste." The old man said.

"Useless waste…" Izuku said, as he recalled some unpleasant memories.

The old man saw the downcast expression of our young hero as he gestured Izuku to sit beside him.

"Young one, how about you sit here and tell me what got you so worried." The old man offered.

Izuku immediately denied, "N-No sir. It's alright. I don't want to impose."

"You are not imposing on anyone. I just want to help you out of my own free will. I might not be knowledgeable in things you youngsters are interested in, but I might be able to give some insight on your problem." The old man kindly offered once again.

Izuku wanted to deny his help, saying that he didn't know him well enough. He just met the man. While, he is looks like a good person despite his intimidating appearance, he just can't give his life story to him. Plus, a part of him was also a bit surprised. Since no one apart from his mother ever helped him, so seeing a complete stranger offer him some help, even in form of advice felt nice to him. And for some reason his instinct said that he could completely trust the elderly.

So, in the end he trusted his instinct, as he took the seat beside him and started speaking, "I-I want to be a… a h-hero." He looked at the old man who just listened, feeling relieved he continued, "I was around 4 years old when I was introduced to the world of heroes." Izuku gulped as he started reminiscing the feelings his introduction to hero world gave him, "I was fascinated by them, how they helped around, how they smiled. Their costumes and the way they used their quirks. It was all so interesting to me. I mean it still is… it's just the wonder they inspired was amazing. And then one day, when my mom was surfing on internet, she clicked open a video. It was an old one."

A small smile formed on his face as he remembered how his mother didn't want him to see the video at first, but he started being a little gremlin and latched on her legs and refused to go until she let him watch that video.

He shook his head and continued with his speech, "As I said it was an old one, debut of a hero. As I watched the video, I vividly remember how I felt."

"You sure have a good memory if you can remember things back when you were 4, huh." The old man commented

"I too am surprised with this. But maybe it just imprinted onto me because of how much it affected me as a person… So, the thing is, as I saw the video, it was a disaster scene. With multiple people crying for help, I wasn't really able to understand anything back then. But to me it all looked very scary."

He took a pause and then continued, "It was then a hero arrived, rescuing everyone. Making sure everyone was safe. And he did all this with a big smile on his face, laughing and making sure no one felt fear. I saw how people looked when he arrived, they felt elated, relieved. It was debut of All Might, the one who inspired me to become a hero. I usually pandered around with neighbourhood kids, playing hero agency games." He laughed as he remembered those time.

But soon it changed into a pained expression, "But it all stopped when I was declared quirkless. People around…, I guess they didn't really like it. It all started from harmless teasing and jokes. But soon it evolved into bullying and harassment. People around me didn't like that I still dreamed to become a hero. Yes, I want to be a hero even if I am quirkless. To me, it is the coolest thing you can do, to save someone. I too want to be one. A hero who saves everyone, just like All Might. To bring a smile to their face. But I am berated for it. They say that it is impossible, and I can't amount to anything in my life, that'll I'll be a useless "Deku". All because I don't have a quirk. My entire existence's worth was decided based on the fact that I don't have a quirk. I-I… huh."

By the end of his rant, Izuku tried his best to control his emotion, to not break down in front of the old man.

During Izuku's entire speech, the elderly man looked at him, deep in thought. He came back to this place as he wanted to revisit some of the memories, only to find the state this place was in, which led to his meeting with this youngling. Seeing his troubled expression and offering help as he usually does gave him an idea of what kind of a person this young man is.

To him, he looked like someone lost in the stars and sparkles of the modern heroes. He also sensed some lingering resentment and a lot of self-hate and doubt.

At first, someone like him would be easily to manipulated to the wrong side of the spectrum. God knows how much trouble they gave him. But an emotion overpowered all those negative emotions by a large margin. It was selflessness and righteousness. A combination he has rarely seen in people nowadays.

After a while, as he composed himself as he felt a bit light. He rarely ever talked to someone about how he feels, not even his mother. So, confiding to someone felt very good. He turned to the old man as he wiped his tears and said, "Sorry for wasting your time like this, I didn't really want to speak that much." He rubbed the back of his head.

The elderly looked at him, trying to get a rain check on the young man, "It's alright young one. My time is not wasted if I can help a youngster in his dilemma. Afterall this is what we old fools are for. Hahaha!" He laughed stroking his beard.

He then looked at Izuku, his expression turning extremely serious "Though I hope you can answer some questions young man if you don't mind."

Izuku was taken aback by this change in expression. From the small time he knew him, the old man talked like a grandfather talking to his grandchild. He thought for a bit and then nodded his head, thinking that at least he can answer the question.

The old man then asked, "Why do you want to be a hero? All Might inspired you for sure… But what is the reason for you to chase after that dream."

Izuku opened his mouth to answer, only to stop at the last moment. Yes, his inspiration to become a hero was just to be like All Might but like the old man said, he was his inspiration not his reason to become a hero. He never really thought beyond his own motives to become a hero.

The old man then spoke, "Let me rephrase it. Do you want to be a hero for the fame it brings or the riches it offers? Or you want it for your own satisfaction."

Izuku mulled over a bit as he gave his answer, "I wasn't really thinking about the money of fame when I decided to be a hero. I just want to help people."

"Will you ever kill someone. Even if it means you can save millions of people?" the old man asked again.

"NO! I would never do that!" Izuku answered.

"Even if the person is an absolute evil? Or beyond saving? Even then?" the old man asked again.

Izuku firmly replied, "Yes, even if the person is beyond saving, I will not kill him. I'll find a way to save him."

The old man shifted his gaze towards the garbage dumps as he thought of something.

"Uhm… a-ano…?" the old man turned his attention towards the boy.

"D-Do y-you think… t-that…" 'Come on! Don't get cold feet now. Just ask!' "D-Do you think that… I-I… can become a h-hero?" Izuku asked with a hopeful tone.

The old man pondered for a bit then answered, "I don't know."

"Huh?" that was a new one for Izuku. Usually, he is met by jeers and mocking or sometimes a look of pity from people. So, an answer like this was a first one for him.

"The answer is young man is that I don't know. That is something only you can decide." The old man said firmly.

"But-But how? How can I decide something like that?" Izuku aske d desperate for an answer.

The old man then spoke, "Sometimes, you have to take an unknown path, in order you expand your horizon. This is what leads to discovery. The path you wish to take is one such path, an unknown. It is for you to decide how you want to walk on it. It will be filled with obstacles unknown to most of the people, you will feel like giving up on it. Sometimes due to other people's opinions, sometimes due to your own self-doubt. But ultimately the decision rests on your shoulder, do you want to carve out your own path or just give up. Because what you will do will also become an example for the future generation."

Izuku felt like he understood what he was trying to say. He then said, "I already knew that my journey to become a hero will be much difficult than others. But I am not giving up."

He then looked at the ground and said, "But just where should I start from?"

Silence ensued between them for a while. As they both just sat there, feeling the breeze. A few moments later the old man spoke, "Young one?"

"Yes?" Izuku replied.

"Are you free tomorrow?" the old man asked.

"Uhm hm." Izuku nodded, not really knowing what to say.

"I know it might sound a bit suspicious, but can you come here tomorrow morning?" the old man said.

"Heh?"

"Tomorrow morning. At 6'o clock. I am offering you a chance to achieve your dream. But for that you have to be present there. I hope to see you there young one. I won't wait for too long." The old man stated, as he stood up to leave.

"Sir, what is your name?" Izuku called out.

"I'll tell you my name after hearing your answer, young one." With that the old man left leaving Izuku in his thoughts.

{Time skip: Midoriya Household, 10:00 pm}

'I am offering you a chance to achieve your dream. But for that you have to be present there.'

Those words kept ringing in Izuku's head. A chance to achieve my dream. To become a hero. He felt conflicted. By all means he should ignore the offer and do something else. But for some reason, he is unable to get these words out of his head.

'A chance to become a hero. But how? Should I go there in the morning. But what if it is a trap? Like those trafficking ring news talked about. Maybe I should just ignore it.' Izuku thought.

'I am offering you a chance to achieve your dream. But for that you have to be present there.'

"Ugh!" Izuku started rolling on his bed as he muffled his mouth with a pillow and screamed.

"What should I do?" his rational side told him to ignore it. For some reason he felt if he didn't go, he might miss his only chance to become a hero.

"Whatever I'll just decide in morning." Izuku said as he switched off his lights and went into a slumber.

Or so he thought. 'I can't even sleep!'

{Time skip: Dagobah Beach Park, 6:05 am}

In the trash filled scenery of the beach a familiar old man can be seen meditating. Suddenly, he hears fast paced footsteps, approaching him.

"So, you came huh? I thought you would have dismissed it." The old man opened a singular eye as he gazed at the arrival.

"I wasn't really going to come. But for some reason I felt I would've missed something big." The newcomer, Izuku answered taking deep breaths.

The old man stood and took a stance, creating shockwave, knocking Izuku off his feet.

"Ugh!" Izuku groaned as he nursed his back. He then looked at the old man in wonder, "Is that your quirk? Can you create shockwaves with your quirk or does your quirk manipulate winds…" he went on with his muttering, which made the old man sweatdrop.

'He sure can speak fast.' He thought as he cleared his throat to get his attention. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

"… by creating smaller concentrated shockwaves, it can deal heavy damages to the opponent…" Izuku was still muttering.

The old man shook his head, as he picked up a marble sized rubble and threw it on Izuku's forehead.

"Ow!"

"I hope I got your attention, young one." The old man said stroking his beard.

"…Sorry…" Izuku turned red while squeaking out an apology.

'This is going to be tough.' The old man shook his head as he started to speak, "So, do you have any question?"

"Was that your quirk?" Izuku asked a bit hesitant. Though the answer he received shocked him.

"No, it was not a quirk." The old man replied.

"Heh! What do you mean it was not a quirk? It has to be. I mean you created a shockwave." Izuku spoke in a stunned manner.

The old man then spoke, "How about we go for a walk. There is a small spot on the seashore not filled with trash." He started walking, with Izuku on his tow.

The old man then continued to speak, "How much do you know about the martial arts?"

Izuku answered, not really knowledgeable in that area, "Is it the fighting styles, with which people compete in tournaments. Right?"

The old man nodded, "You're right about that. Martial arts are the tools of self defence or maybe a way of life. Honestly that depends on a person's view. You asked me if that shockwave was because of quirk or not. Yes, it was not a quirk. Because I don't have one."

Izuku was stumped at the revelation. A strong shockwave created so effortlessly, and it was not due to a quirk. "How?" he asked.

"It was a martial arts technique I performed." The old man informed.

Izuku soaked in every bit of information at this point. He was surprised, that this was result of a trained atrial arts technique rather than a quirk. He started feeling something in his chest. Soon, they arrived at the empty part of the beach. As the old man turned towards him and said, "That is the reason I called you here today. I have a proposition for you. Though only if you accept, otherwise we won't be anything more than strangers from here on young one."

Izuku nodded, not wanting to interrupt the old man.

"I want to teach you these techniques, this martial art I worked on for my entire life. I want to make you, my disciple." The old man then, walked towards one of pile of trash and put his hand on it. Suddenly another strong shockwave is formed, blowing away the heap of trash.

"Do you, Midoriya Izuku accept this proposition? Let me tell you something. If you accept it, it will be extremely hard. You'll have to work much harder than anyone if you want to achieve your goal. So, do you accept it?" the old man asked.

Izuku felt hope, that if what this old man is saying is true. Then, maybe he can become a hero.

'What do I even have to lose at this point? It's not like I have any other choice. This might be my only choice.' Izuku then made a decision as he went on his knees and said, "I accept! Please teach me."

The old man smiled as he stroked his beard, "Very well, Izuku. My name is Gouken and I will teach you a martial arts name Shotokan."

So, here is the end of the first chapter of this series. I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Please comment and tell me if you have to say anything. Criticism is appreciated as always.
