"Dot..."
"Dot. Wake Up..."
"Huh..?" Dot groaned as she opened her eyes to see Wakko looking over her.
"We need to help prepare for the village party tonight" Wakko said.
"What party?" Dot said half asleep, "OH! THE PARTY!" Dots sleepiness disapeared as she cheered and jumped out of bed, she got dressed and quickly went to eat breakfast
"Whoa calm down there Dot" a voice behind her said, she turned around and saw Scratchnsniff and Hello Nurse, their parents, standing by the door way "We know you're exited but we woudnt want you to choke"
Dot simply nodded and ate a bit slower
When she finished, she and Wakko rushed into the village square where people were setting up for the party tonight. Dot and Wakko happily walked around as they saw the decorations being diplayed all throughout the village. But one thing caught Dot's eye, a group of people were doing something around the village, it didint look like decorations for the party, so out of curosity she went up to the person that seemed to be their leader, a tall, dark skinned woman.
"Hello?" Dot said
"What do you want?" The woman said agitated, her expression changed when she saw the two, it looked like she was thinking. Dot was about to leave annoyed when the woman spoke again
"Well hello there little lady. What do you want?" The woman said with a smile
"What are you doing?" Dot truned around asking
"Oh, were just reinforcing our wall to protect our village tonight" The woman said
"Protect us from what?" Wakko said as he finally caught up to Dot
"Well you see, there are monsters in the woods"
"Monsters? Why do you think theres monsters in the woods?" Wakko asked nerviously
"Wait, you dont know about the Vampire that terrorizes the village every blood moon?" the woman said shocked
The two simply shook their head
"Well, let me tell you the story about a vampire tha-"
"Maam!" a worker shouted while running to them
"What?" The woman said
"The villagefolk said that they think they saw a werewolf around last full moon" The worker said panting
"A WHAT??!!" The Woman shouted, "As if a vampire wasnt hard enough to keep track of, now we have another monster to look out for and kill" the woman groaned
"Pshhh, but monsters arent real, right Wak-" Dot stopped talking as she saw Wakko wide eyed with fear and sweating hard.
"Umm.. Right, Wakko?" Dot muttered
Wakko then snapped out of his trance like state and gulped.
"Huh? Y-yeah, those arent real, especially the werewolf, how ridiculous would that be?" he said as he let out a nervous chuckle.
"Oh, but they are" the woman said in an ominous tone "But thats a story I'll tell you another day, because I have to inform the others of the new threat. Oh, Iam sorry, I forgot to ask, what are your names?"
"I-Iam Wakko..." he muttered
"And Iam Princess Angelina Contessa lousia Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca The Third, but you can call me Dot, call me Dottie and you die"
The woman chuckled "My name is Nora Rita Norita, but you kids can just call me Nora"
"Nice to meet you Nora" Dot said smiling
"Yeah... Nice to meet you..." Wakko said under his breath
They waved at each other as Nora went to talk to some people. They walked towards the villagesquare and they took in the scenery, not just the decorations, but the nature surrounding them, the cool breeze, the blue sky, and the greenery that surrounded them, they felt so free, like they could do anything.
Dot's eyes then fell onto the forest and she grinned
"I know what that smile means, I know that means you're planning something" Wakko said noticing this
"Oh!" Dot said while wiping her grin off her face "Its nothing! Just admiring the decorations."
"Riiight.." Wakko said roling his eyes
They continued to walk around the town to greet friends, help with the decorations and to just have fun. They went home for a bit to get ready for tonight, Wakko had grabbed a snack from the pantry and Dot was getting dressed.
They went to the party and Dot greeted their friends while Wakko had his eyes set on the buffet.
They chatted and danced for a bit under the moon light, Dot looked around and admired the scenery around them, the people dancing, the band playing music, the star filled sky, everything was perfect.
She got tired and sat down on a bench watching as Wakko went to the buffet to eat, she was relaxing when she heard rustling of tree behind her, she turned around and saw a dark figure in the trees. She was curious and went to investigate but was disappointed when she it was just an owl. She looked around and saw Wakko scarfing down food at the table and she decided to go to the entrance of the forest, she needed to know if the stories are true. Wakko noticed this and decided to follow her.
"Dot!" Wakko shouted
Dot yet out a yelp as she got startled and turned around to face Wakko
"Wakko, shhhh" Dot said nerviously
"I wanna come with you" Wakko whispered "But were gonna be seen if we go through here"
"Really?" Dot asked
"Yes" Wakko replied "Now follow me"
Dot smiled as she followed Wakko. They successfully snuck past the drinking guards who were talking about the ways they would catch the monsters. Dot didint mind it but Wakko listened closely to their conversation.
They had made it to the path that leads into the forest, it was dark, the only thing illuminating it was the moon and the lamp they brought. It was almost silent, the distant party behind them was the only thing they could hear and the cold wind blowing on the trees.
As they were walking through the forest, Wakkos heart was pounding and his eyes were looking all over the place, he regreted his decision of coming here almost instantly, he didnt know if the Vampire was real or not, they might be walking straight into danger. He then saw a figure in the trees that quickly moved out of sight and got a shiver up his spine, he didn't feel good about this.
They went pretty far into the forest when they reached a clearing, fully illuminated by the moon.
"Lets take a break here" Wakko suggested
"Good idea, Iam getting a bit tired" Dot said while sitting down. She admired the scenery around them, she had never been in the forest at night before, it was relaxing to say the least.
Wakko sat down aswell leaning on one of the trees, his eyes were looking at the scenery but it didint seem like he was enjoying it, it looked like he was looking for something, he calmed down as his eyes began to stop looking for something and he became more relaxed. He lied down on the grass and felt the light of the moon on his body, he started to roll on the field and he had never felt more alive, he started to laugh and roll faster.
He stopped rolling when he almost hit dot.
"Looks like someones having fun" Dot said smirking.
Wakko sat up and dusted his sweater that was full of dirt now "Yeah, I am"
There was a silence as they took in the scenery, the forest was beautiful at night. The moonlight illuminating the field they were in as well as the forest, the cool breeze blowing on their fur, and the earthy smell.
"Wanna look for the vampire?" Dot said breaking the silence
"No" Wakko said instantly
"Awww, come on" Dot said
"I said no, if we try to to look for the vampire, its the same as looking for death" Wakko replied
"Fine" Dot said crossing her arms
"Now come on, we need to get back to the party, Iam hungry" Wakko said reaching an arm out to her
"Youre always hungry" Dot replied
They both laughed for a bit before Wakko saw a figure in the trees
"Umm.. Whats that?" Wakko said pointing to the figure
Dot turned around to see the figure staring at them with glowing red eyes
"I guess it found us instead" Dot yelped
"We need to go, now" Wakko said holding her sister tight , grabbing the lamp, and quickly heading out the forest
As they were making their way through the forest, they saw it again, but this time it was closer. Their walk broke into a jog in which the figure matched, their jog turned into a run, in which the figure matched again.
"Dot" Wakko said panting "Get on my back, now"
Dot did as he said and Wakko managed to run faster than before. But it wasn't enough, the figure had almost caught up with them, Dot turned around to see the figure face to face, she was terrified, the Vampire was real. He had glowing red eyes and sharp fangs sticking out of his mouth, but one big detail stuck out to Dot, he looked like her and Wakko. It could've killed them already since they were in arms reach but didn't, all this puzzled Dot before it smiled.
Dots eyes widened as the creature smiled. He was planning something. She then remembered that she had garlic so she reached into her pockets and flung it at the figure.
"Hey!" The figure said dodging the garlic "What was that fo-" the figure was interrupted by Wakko shouting
"WERE ALMOST THERE!"
Wakko started to run faster
"Wakko! Slow down!" Dot shouted
"What do you mean slow down?! Its right behind us and you want m-" Wakko suddenly tripped that sent them both rolling on the floor and hitting their heads.
Dot got knocked out instantly but Wakko managed to open his eyes a bit to see the figure put out the fire that came from the lamp and walk up to Dot.
"Dot..." Wakko tried his best to stand up and get to Dot but ultimately passed out from exhaustion and the pain.
Authors Note: This is gonna be my first time doing a longer story with multple chapters so any review, positive or negative, will be very much appreciated and helpful.
