Desmond was reading some books at the library, it was the weekend and he just wanted to relax and read. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, with the library being pretty empty since no one enjoyed doing homework and getting books on the weekends. Something he didn't understand the reasoning for, because to him doing homework was fun. In fact, at the moment he was doing next week's homework in advance.
Suddenly, he heard someone enter the library. It was Amber, and she seemed to be looking for books frantically.
"Huh, I didn't know Amber liked studying over the weekends!" Desmond said to himself. He decided to walk up to her. "Um, Amber, can I help you with anything?" he questioned, "I didn't know you enjoyed studying over the weekend."
"Oh, about that.." Amber started, "I actually might've forgotten to finish some homework I needed to have ready by monday… and I can't let anyone know that I'm late, It'll ruin my reputation!" Amber said with a guilty look on her face.
Now Desmond understood, Amber hadn't gone to the library to study for fun, she just didn't want to be late with her work and ruin her reputation.
Desmond felt bad seeing Amber so worried, so he offered his help with finding the books she needed.
"You mean it?! Thanks a lot Desmond, you're a lifesaver!" Amber said enthusiastically and relieved. "Could you maybe help me with my homework too? Oh and don't forget to keep this between you and me." she added.
Desmond agreed to help her get her books, and to help her with her homework. Amber immediately began handing him some books. Next thing he knew, his hands were getting piled on with books, books and more books! He knew that doing Amber's homework didn't actually mean he'd be doing her homework. Unlike with James, helping Amber with homework just meant he'd be there for her in case she needed to find something in a book, it didn't mean he'd literally do it for her. Anyway, he couldn't just pass up an opportunity to help Amber, so his own work would have to be put off for later.
"And here's the last one!" Amber said placing the last book on the tall heavy stack of books Desmond was carrying.
Seven books in total; she must've really had a lot of homework piled up, Desmond thought to himself. Though, for Amber, he was more than happy to do it.
The two of them worked on all her homework assignments together, with Amber taking over, as a matter of fact, she ended up doing it herself, with Desmond just helping her find the right material she needed from the books. After a few hours they finally finished the last bit of homework.
"Thanks again Desmond, you're always there for me!" After saying this Amber walked out of the library and left Desmond alone with his books. He was so happy, he had been able to spend all day with Amber, and she thanked him for it. Best Saturday ever!
The End.
