Chapter 5

A Talk to the Past, then a Calling to the Future

As Charlie Team and Jacob waited for Evac. Jacob dozed off to his past when he was younger when the war was finished between the Humans and Covenant.

"Hey Jacob, what are you looking at?" Asked Sofia

"Oh this?" Then Jacob showed the thing to his sister; it was a photo of him, Sofia, Martha, and another boy during their middle school days.

"Oh that, I remember that time" Sofia replied

"Yeah, remember the first time we met in a long time during class?" Jacob asked

"Of course I remember that, you made a giant ruckus in class"

"Yeah I remember that, that was very embarrassing to be honest"

"Yeah, also remember when you met Martha for the first time?"Sofia asked

"That, was something I actually don't remember sadly" Jacob replied disappointedly

"That's okay I guess, but I'm pretty sure Martha remembers it though, very clearly too"

As Jacob and Sofia recall memories from the past they knew they could never get it back because they were part of a hellish nightmare they could never forget.

They were 13 when they got abducted then replaced with their own Doppelgangers, they were the person but they degraded at a faster rate only to fake that person's death. The only thing they can remember before they were taken away was only going home then a blank after.

When Jacob awoke he was scared, he was helpless, but more than not he was afraid. So after he calmed down he slowly searched his room and didn't find anything of use but what made these room special was that it was a small room with gray colored walls and door, no windows, 3 cameras in each corner of the room except the bathroom, and in the bathroom with a low hanging shower head, a sink, and a toilet. That's all he could see from his room. Then the door opened, outside the door were five military-looking personnel waiting outside of the door, then one of them told Jacob to follow them and so he did. As he was following them he noticed something strange was going on with him. He felt like he was being watched somehow but as it was getting stronger, it stopped when he got to his destination. There was a big metal door in front of him then one of the military personnel put his hand in front of his uniform then pulled out an ID card out of his uniform then put it in front of what looked like a scanner then the door opened.

What was inside was about 10 people in the room. As Jacob kept looking around then he estimated the other people around him the same age or a bit younger. Then Jacob looked around then found a table with three other people sitting near it. There were two girls on the opposite side of the table from each other and a single boy sitting on the left from one of the girls, from what it seems like they don't know each other but from what it looks like they are wondering why they are here as well.

Before Jacob sat down he asked his table mates their names then at that moment Jacob snapped back to reality from a disturbance.

Jacob woke up to the sound of a Pelican's engines roaring next to him then Charlie 2-1 came up to him

"Hey Jacob! Enough snoozing around time to head out!" Yelled 2-1 over the Engine noises

"Yeah, alright," Jacob responded back

Jacob got up off near a tree stump though he doesn't remember being moved but that didn't bother him too much. As Jacob was getting on the Pelican he could barely hear the sounds of footsteps getting close but from the Pelican's engines they were muffled, so he grabbed an assault rifle from one of the compartments in the pelican then proceeded to guard the ship and told everyone to get in the ship

"Hey! Hurry up and get in the pelican!" yelled Jacob

"Jacob, the fuck are you doing?" Asked 2-1

"Look at your motion sensors and you'll see what I mean!" Said Jacob

They didn't believe Jacob and thought he was paranoid from waking up but they still looked and saw small red dots on the motion sensor almost surrounding them, then they started to haul ass in the pelican. As they all entered and Jacob the last on one on the ship, then the as pelican started to take off people started to emerge from the bushes and trees that was around them and from what it seems they were wielding swords from tiny one-handed swords to two-handed broad swords and spears they also had armor like leather including metal breastplates, wrist guards, and leg guards and all that sorts of stuff and none of them had any type of firearm like a musket or self-loading rifles so their technology must be in the medieval age of some sort.
