Chapter 6

Worlds Collides

As Jacob and the rest of Charlie team is on the pelican, Charlie Team gives Jacob a spare pilot jumpsuit for space travel since the UNSC Constant a Light Frigate is in the thermosphere so the travel will be a bit long but the astrosphere and sheer pressure will kill Jacob in a mere seconds before he can even board the Consent. So Jacob grabs the jumpsuit then he puts on the jumpsuit including gear that came with it then he sits down on one of the Pelican's seats. As they are ready to ascend to basically space they strapped themselves in then the pelican starts to ascend at a fast rate.

The pelican is 16km(16000m) off the ground, barely from where they were from but it's a start. The pelican is climbing at a 75 degree angle. Soon the pelican is going to lose speed. but as it is still gaining altitude they were still okay. Almost half an hour later the pelican is 24km up in the ozone layer, so since the pelican is taking too slow to reach the Constant, Charlie's team leader contacts the UNSC Constant captain.

"This is Charlie 2-1 come in UNSC Constant, Over,"

"This is the UNSC Constant, we read you loud and clear, over,"

"Copy, can you transfer me to the captain of the ship, over,"

"Copy, … here you go Charlie 2-1," then the audio transfers to the bridge to the captain

"This is Charlie 2-1, how do you read?"

"This is Captain Jackson, captain of the UNSC Constant we can read you loud and clear"

"Copy, Constant can you come down a few Kilometers? Over,"

Then the captain thought about it for a few seconds then said,

"Sorry that's a negative 2-1, you have to travel for another hour or so, I have my men and extra cargo on this ship and that we are in unknown territory so I can't take that risk I hope you understand,"

"Copy that, 2-1 heading out" then the call ends.

As another few hours pass by they enter the thermosphere. As they entered the thermosphere they could see the sun over the horizon which they thought was beautiful seeing the sun coming out of the horizon. As they are in the thermosphere to look for the UNSC Constant, they see a speck in the horizon in front of the sun so they suspected to be the Constant but as they are getting closer they realize that it was debris from a ship but the thing is it's not a ship in any of the catalogs from the UNSC or Covenant, so that meant it was a ship that was somehow abandoned or their slip-space drive broke so they try contact the ships comms/radio. As they were looking for the radio channel then they get a static voice over their radio,

"Bzzzzt~ Anyone~PSHHH~ Anyone come in"

They hear a female voice over their radio's so they responded back,

"This is Pelican 24768, who is this and how did you get on this channel?" Answered the pilot

"This is Iris Conrad, part of the Human Galactic Empire; a Galaxy-class ship called the 'Iris Conrad', and how I got on this channel was easy, it only took me a few seconds to get your channel,"

"Okay then, so my what are you doing here out of all places and what is the Human Galactic empire thing anyways" asked Charlie 2-1

"The reason I got here is because I was maintaining the ship with my captain during warping. The ship got hit by something, then the ship warped out and we were stranded in space until my captain came back conscious from the explosion from the ship," cutting mid-sentence 2-1 says,

"Okay then that's enough, but we are going to need to get close to make sure that your correct on the ship getting hit by something during warp"

"Okay then, if that's helps to increase our trust then okay," as they exchange their talk a familiar voice comes over the comms as well,

"This is UNSC Constant, where is your position Pelican 24768, Over"

"This is Pelican 24768, we are in orbit and we are going boarding an unidentified ship, also I'll patch in our coordinates, over," the pilot responded

"Wait what? What is this unidentified ship you speak of?" questioned the radio operator

"There was this ship just sitting in orbit on this planet so we tried to contact it and we did, but from the looks of it seems like they are from a different universe and or planet we are not sure, but we are approaching the ship,"

"Alright then, I'll believe you but I need to tell this to the captain first alright? Ah got your coordinates"

As the radio operator is talking to the captain and as for the rest of the crew on the pelican they float to the Iris Conrad since they used up so much fuel from exiting the atmosphere, so they try to slowly consume fuel by using as little as possible. As they are nearing the ship they take a look at the ship through the pilot's cockpit and they saw this small little ship with some debris left but from the looks of it was just the front of the ship but the back of it was missing like it was torn off or should they say exploded off but as they got a closer look at the back of the ship the radio turned back on then the captain of the UNSC Constant spoke,

"Hello, do you read me, Charlie team, Jacob, and pilot? We know about the ship now but please for the love of god don't board it just yet, wait till we get there then we'll find out what and who they are. Do you guys copy?"

"This is Charlie Team, we read you and yeah alright we'll wait for you guys, also it seems like the ship we said well it's not exactly a hole but it seems like it was exploded off instead"

"Oh, okay then? So how does that help us or what?"

"I don't know I just felt I should just reference that"

As Charlie team waits for the Constant they kept looking at the ship while theorizing what happened to the ship because if they were in warp it would be impossible to hit it unless you had a very advanced targeting system that can track very fast moving targets or someone or something on the ship made the explosion because it would be logical and would make sense, but sense they don't know the ship layout it would be quite impossible.

What felt like few minutes pass by the Constant is in view distance from the ship then the radio from the pelican gets a transmission from the Iris Conrad

"This is Iris Conrad, I believe you took a look at the damages on the ships?"

"Yeah we took a look and from the looks of it and a discussion from our crew in here, it seems like one of your crew in the Conrad caused the explosion either accidental or purposely," replied 2-1

"Hmm, that is interesting to say the least, but did any of you contact any ships of sorts?" Asked Iris

"Yes we did, it's our ship a Charon-class Frigate,"

"Oh okay because I sense a ship on my radar,"

A few minutes later the Constant was near so it slowed down to park near the Conrad the recon team from the Constant and Charlie team from the pelican entered the Conrad while Jacob got inside the Constant then he was sent to infirmary for a quick check up.
