Dandelionpaw felt her eyes flutter to an opening. She looked around the windclan apprentice den, it was mostly dark except for the smallest glow coming from the opening of the den.

She briefly considered going back to sleep, she wasn't sure if she could make it through another day in this stupid clan.

She turned over in her nest when she remembered her mentor, Rabbittail, had asked her to train early today. With a deep sense of dread she stood up, avoiding the sleeping cats, she ducked through the entrance and stepped out onto the soft snow.

It had stopped snowing then, but she knew it could start up again. just my luck.. thought dandelionpaw, why did she out of all cats have to train this early and with snow? For most of windclan this wouldn't be as much of a problem, but surprise! She wasn't like most of windclan. Her thick fur sticks to snow and makes it almost impossible to run.

She noticed Rabbittail waiting for her by the camp entrance. At least she waited for me and didn't go and wake me up, thought dandelionpaw. She carefully walked over there trying to avoid as much snow as possible.

Rabbittail looked down and said, "Oh! Dandelionpaw, you're awake! I was going to wake you but decided to give you a chance to get a bit more shut eye." Dandelionpaw nodded grateful for her mentor's patience.

"Let's get going," She said, turning and walking out. Dandelionpaw followed behind, trying to shake the sense of dread that's been following her, You'll do fine, it's fine. She was horrible at hunting and fighting, she could never do any of it right. As they made it to an open area Rabbittail looked at her apprentice and asked, "You ready?"

Dandelionpaw nodded, "as ready as i'll ever be.." With that her mentor started off reexplaining how to hunt for the hundredth time.

Barrowpaw POV:

Barrowpaw heard pawsteps next to his head. He was woken up enough to figure some cat had left the apprentice den early, but not awake enough to figure who.

He fell back into his sleep but was awoken by mudpaw, "Hey you're going on dawn patrol, bud" "okay, buddy." Barrowpaw was excited for the patrol. Even if it was cold outside he still enjoyed being out. He ducked through the den entrance and looked out across the camp.

He spotted Dandelionpaw across the camp looking down with her tail drooped, maybe I should cheer her up though Barrowpaw.

He walked over to her and said, "Hey, mousebrain, you catch anything?" He was Joking of course. This made her smile softly, "No, did you did you just wake up from hibernation, you dumb bear."

Barrowpaw wasn't offended by this comment,

that's just how they interact with each other. He then heard his mentor call his name.

"Sorry, Dandelionpaw I got to go, hope you don't horribly fail next time" "see you" She said, her smile fading. With that Barrowpaw turned to his mentor and ran off. He was greeted by Smokepaw and Eaglefeather, while Alligatorclaw and Duskweb stood off to the side.

He quietly noted that He was with his mentor, Alligatorclaw, Smokepaw was with his mentor, Eaglefeather, yet Duskweb was without an apprentice. Duskweb wasn't the most confident and she always struggled to stand out, but Barrowpaw personally thought she should have an appreciation by now.

He quickly was broken away from his thought by Alligatorclaw, "we should get going, the prey isn't going to hunt itself" "Of course" said Duskweb. As the patrol moved along, Barrowpaw couldn't stop thinking about the twoleg place.

I wonder what the kittypets eat, do they have to defend their territory, why can't the clans just live in peace instead of living on edge? Barrowpaw's gaze drifted as he saw a dashing black cat with a pink collar in the distance.

He tried to alert his clanmates but his words were in his throat as the she-cat noticed him with her golden eyes and ran off with a squirrel. Alligatorclaw cuffed his ear with his paw and hissed "Got eyes for a kittypet, huh?"

Dandelionpaw's POV

Dandelionpaw was sitting near the medicine den, eating a squirrel, when she saw Barrowpaw walk into camp. She called him over but he seemed to be in his head.

She called again and he was broken from his thoughts. He looked at her, quickly turning towards her. "How'd the patrol go mouse brain? Did you fail horribly?" She said with a smug expression.

He sat next to her, "I definitely didn't" he said with his head in the clouds. "What?" said Dandelionpaw, looking confused. She figured that she just shouldn't ask,

"Well I'm going on patrol by twoleg place so i'll add that to more bad luck" Barrowpaw quickly shot up, "You're going twoleg place? Can i come" Dandelionpaw stared for a second and said, "Squirrelwhiskers the one who organizes the patrols, if you want to go, ask him"

Barrowpaw looked around the camp, "where is he?" "out hunting!" she said with a purr, "guess you aren't coming." Barrowpaw rolled his eyes, "How is twoleg place bad luck?" "because they probably have a bunch of annoying kittypets!" groaned Dandelionpaw.

Barrowpaw hissed, "Your so closed minded" Dandelionpaw was about to open her mouth when Rabbittail walked over, "come on it's time to go" Dandelionpaw jumped up and after her.

As she followed her mentor, Sandhop and Dustfeather were waiting by the entrance. "Wheres spottedpaw" "She got sick so she had to go to the medicine den" Said Rabbittail. Sandhop nodded, "Looks like it's just us!" The patrol headed off to twoleg place. While they were on there way, Rabbittail slowed to walk with Dandelionpaw.

"Hey, I need you to train early tomorrow as well.." Dandelionpaw, to tired to argue, simply nodded. As they made it there They saw a black kittypet standing by the fence on windclan territory. "Hey what are you doing here?!" Dandelionpaw asked furiously.

The kittypet responded with, "I'm just standing here." "This is our territory you can't be here, you mousebrain" The kittypet simply rolled her eyes and said, "I don't see how you can own this land! There's no proof that this is yours!" Dandelionpaw growled, Rabbittail attempted to intervene,

"Dan-" "You dumb forest cats are so hostile!" Dandelionpaw, overcome with rage hissed and jumped at her when she heard, "Dandelionpaw stop!"

She froze and turned. Rabbittail was staring at her with disappointment. Dandelionpaw knew that this wouldn't end well.
