The legacy of Fred Andrews…

Archie Andrews looked at the obituary Jughead Jones had written for his father, Fred. It was beautifully written. Archie could not imagine how the town of Riverdale would have turned out without Fred's help and involvement. Fred truly cared about the well-being of the town and most importantly, cared about his son. Fred truly wanted to stay in Riverdale and help out the town despite almost everyone else trying to leave. He had played as the center fielder for the Riverdale baseball team and had led the team to two consecutive state championships. Fred had to work much harder after his father's death and took over the family business at the age of 18. The death of his older brother, Oscar, had caused Fred even more grief and served as another catalyst and incentive to perform his duties diligently and efficiently. Fred truly looked out for the citizens in Riverdale, not just members of his own family. Fred cared about most of the people in that town, it was just a shame that so many people took that empathy for granted.

Fred had worked on and built many parts of that town. He truly was dedicated and passionate about the town's well-being. He had tried running for the mayor, because unlike his opponent, Fred wanted to improve the town and make it better. Though it didn't work out, Fred still quietly helped out the town quietly by offering a place for the Southside Serpents and by working extra shifts at his construction business.

Fred worried about his son's well being during his 11th grade year at Riverdale High School. Archie had been harassed and threatened by Hiram Lodge and his goons. After some time, Fred made it clear that if he harmed Archie in any way in the slightest, he would kill him. Fred wasn't afraid to stand up to anyone that had threatened his son. Archie only wished he could have had more time with Fred. None of this should have happened. Fred truly made a difference in Riverdale and he had so much more to offer to the town.

Fred was committed to his family business, Andrews Construction. It was something that he hesitated to take control of at first, but eventually became a passion for him. Fred's construction business wasn't consistently successful, but it did provide for he and his family. Fred's construction business did play a role in the foundation of Riverdale. Many building projects were successfully completed thanks to Fred's work. Fred truly wanted what was best for the town of Riverdale.

Ultimately, like Jughead had written, Fred had left Riverdale better than when he found it. That was his legacy. And Archie would make sure everyone knew that.

Fred Andrews would always be a part of Riverdale.
