Kingless Hero Chapter 3

Naoto's POV

I woke up and decided to make breakfast for my family. I slowly got out of bed and got dressed and went downstairs. To my surprise breakfast was done all of them were waiting for me including Naruto and mom. I sat with all of them and began eating and talking with them.

''Good morning everyone. So what is the plan for the day.'' I asked as Claudia began talking.

''Well, some of us still doing stuff here but sadly you can't get a job since the legal age is sixteen and they don't hire students since it is illegal apparently to go to school and work at the same time in this country,'' Claudia said as Alicia said her piece on the matter.

''I'll say. This is just stupid. Is this another scheme of the devils since long ago since their peerage can give teens money?'' Alicia asked as Kaguya said her piece on the matter as well.

''Scheme or not...this is counterproductive. This is way more insular and anti opinion and even back home in Eostia my kingdom wasn't this strict.'' Kaguya said as the mention of Eostia still left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. Naruto decided to lighten the mood.

''Oh well, we could simply do odd jobs for the yokai. It earns money from Naoto and I don't they like to let you go after mom and I heard from what the devils did to them.'' Naruto said.

''You mean the Nekoshou Massacre right?'' Chloe asked as Naruto nodded. Celestine then said what Lady Yasaka had told them earlier.

''Speaking of darling, that Rias girl and her peerage forsaken her family for your sake. I know we are all upset but what is your plan? You duped the devils so the Fallen Angels and Heaven will want you to right?'' Celestine asked most people became stiff as I thought about what she said. The girl that enslaved me abdicated her status as heir after hearing the truth and threw everything just to earn my trust. On one hand, it could be a scheme but on the other, she is genuinely trying to fix her mistake. I couldn't really fault her since she was raised that way and with these Evil Pieces systems so she didn't see what she did wrong until it was too late. There were also the two remaining factions to consider. Humiliating the devils publicly in front of all other pantheons or groups was a big enough target on my back but both the Angels and Fallen who want to have me, especially since they all lost members during the great war. I took a good five minutes to think on the matter before I answered them.

''Let's give her a chance. She WILL be on probation but it's only because she threw away her privileges and seems to be the only devil so far to try and fix this. As for the others well I have to go see Yasaka about that mission so I'm afraid I must be off. But if I hear that angel can't feel lust at the same time as love then no dice. The other races don't exist to be turned into them just because they don't want to fix their daddy's broken system.'' I said as I left to see Lady Yaska. She was currently outside playing with her daughter Kunou. I then waved and began talking to them.

''Good Morning Lady Yasaka. I heard from Celestine and I came to discuss these turns if you don't mind.'' I asked her as she nodded and we sat on a bench all three of us before she began talking.

''Naoto-san, I assume you made your decision then?'' She asked as I nodded and told her my decision.

''Yes. For Rias and her peerage, it would benefit us greatly. She seems to be trying to fix her mistake and that can't be ignored. So I propose a trial run of sorts where she can earn the Yokai's trust before they become officially part of us. The same could be said with me since I wanna do odd jobs to make sure my family lacks anything so I can also tell them before so if they agree we all get turned to stay together.'' I said as she nodded and I continued my explanation.

''As for the other I'll confront them but chances are high of saying no to them. I also heard you had a mission for me?'' I asked after explaining to her my plan. She nodded as she began explaining it to me.

''Yes, one of my subordinates found that Asia Argento is currently arriving in Kuoh in two days. She is an excommunicated nun who possesses the Sacred Gear of Twilight Healing. After looking into this my subordinates also found that a devil by the name of Diodora Astaroth had a fetish to break nuns and get them exiled from the church.'' Yasaka said as this Diodora began to remind me of Volt as Yasaka kept explaining the mission.

''I also heard of the possessor of the Boosted Gear attacking women with his powers. He is a human who awakened his Sacred Gear and seems to be using it for nefarious means on women. Your mission is to bring Asia Argento here and make her join us. If you encounter the wielder of Boosted Gear or this Diordora, I give you permission to kill them both. I also give permission to wound, incapacitate, or kill anyone trying to prevent you from recruiting Asia Argento.'' She said as I asked her some questions since I was still lacking information on this world.

''Pardon me for asking these obvious questions but, Why would they excommunicate a Sacred Gear as important as hers? Shouldn't they just you know, forgive and keep the gear? How about the devils? Isn't this their territory too?'' I asked these questions as Yasaka nodded and answered my questions.

''Because they ALWAYS know where the next user of Twilight Healing is and born. So excommunicating her is a small loss in their eyes. As for the devils with what happened yesterday, it is now our territory. After the Nekoushou Massacre, we loan them this part of the territory as a sign of peace after what they did but it was always our territory. So don't worry and just do your job Naoto-San.'' She said as I nodded. I slowly began making my way outside the Yokai territory. I was now in a shrine and I saw Akeno waving at me and asking me a question.

''Naoto-san can we talk?'' Akeno said as I nodded to her and gave my answer to her.

''Yasaka gave me the rundown, you guys are forgiven right now but are also on probation if you wanna stay. You are all gonna need to prove and earn all our trust but I think we can start anew.'' I said as she nodded and told me to wait. I waited and Rias and her peerage arrived and Rias began talking to me.

''Sorry about all I did. Your power was so enticing and I wanted to avoid marrying that scum Rizer. Can we start anew?'' Rias asked me with hopeful eyes and I nodded and kneeled in front of them and apologized to them all.

''We can Rias-Chan. I would like to apologize for my brutal actions toward you guys too. Even though I had every right to do so it wasn't ok regardless. I can only hope that after hearing what I went through you'll understand why I acted like this.'' I said to them and we all agreed. Kiba then asked me what was the mission I was doing right now.

''I'm trying to recruit Asia Argento, the current bearer of Twilight Healing. She was excommunicated by Diodora Astaroth and the Yokai want her. They told me the ok to kill Diodora since the territory is now fully back to Yasaka. The second mission is about the wielder of the Boosted Gear attacking women and abusing them as you know what.'' I said as Rias looked a bit nervous and began explaining to me something.

''The Boosted Gear wielder is Issei Hyoudou, a normal human and a massive pervert. He was always bullied by the kendo club and always publicly masturbated and painted the walls where he and his buddies peeped on the girls.'' Rias as I nodded and told her the rest.

''Well it is our mission should you join. Can I count on you all?'' I asked as they nodded and we went on our way. We had three objectives and failure wasn't an option.
