Hello, I started writing this short text that will be no more than two chapters some time ago and had not published it. I decided to publish it today. Remembering that I don't own the characters, it is just a fan to fan story. Thanks for reading.

Steve was determined to travel the world and leave everything behind, but before he embarked on new adventures, or sank himself into loneliness, he went to the doctor.

"You will continue to take the same medications and come back in two months for a new appointment."

"I'm going on a trip and I don't know when I'll be back," Steve told the doctor.

"I don't recommend that you travel now, Mr. McGarrett. Surely you've heard about this new virus that is spreading across the planet. Many countries are thinking about closing their borders and soon it will be our turn. You are a transplanted patient and I recommend you to be very careful. Avoid exposure to the virus as much as possible and this includes avoiding contact with other people. It is all very new and we still don't know how the disease acts in each person. "

"Really? You don't think I could resist this disease?"

"Like I said, we don't know," the doctor replied.

Steve left the doctor's office and was worried. "My life can't end like this. I still have so much to live for. "

Danny thought Steve was worried when he saw Steve enter the house. "Is something wrong?"

Steve sighed before answering. "I went to the doctor and he has me worried about this new virus. He thinks I'm classified as a risk group because of the transplant."

"I think he may be right. You'd better not travel now, Steve. There are no cases in Hawaii yet, so there's no reason to leave here."

"Maybe you're right," Steve replied.

"Maybe? I'm sure I'm right."

A few minutes later Danny observed Steve who was standing at the edge of the ocean and looking at the horizon.

"I wonder where she is at this very moment. She needs to take care of herself," Steve thought.

The next day Steve announced to the team that he would no longer be traveling. The team was happy but frustrated when he said that he would not be returning to the task force at that time. "The doctor has directed me to stay isolated," he said.

"Danny and I are going to have to leave your house. We can't risk contaminating you," Junior told Steve

Steve wanted to protest but Danny agreed with Junior. "Junior is right, Steve. We're going to be working and it will be better for you if we get out of your house."

"You can count on me if you need to buy anything, I can do that for you," Lincoln told Steve.

"Thanks guys. I know I can count on your friendship and help." Steve said goodbye to them and went home with Danny. The team realized that he was very frustrated. He would now be feeling much more unhappy and lonely.

Catherine was lying down and waiting for Lincoln's call. She quickly got out of bed when her phone rang on the small table in the hotel room. "Lincoln?"

"Hi Catherine. Unfortunately I don't have good news for you. Steve will no longer be traveling."

"Why?" she asked.

"His doctor advised him not to travel at this time."

Catherine bit her lip lightly. "His doctor is right."

Lincoln felt the frustration in her voice. "You can go see him anyway."

"I won't go if he doesn't call me, Lincoln."

"But wouldn't you meet him on the plane?" Lincoln didn't understand her hesitation.

"Yes, I would. On the plane it would be just me and him, without the influence of anyone else. It's different when we're alone, with no one to judge me or to judge him for being with me."

"Are you talking about Danny?" Lincoln asked.

"Yeah, but I'm not just talking about him."

Lincoln tried to encourage her. "Well, I don't think you should care what other people think. The Catherine Rollins I know wouldn't care."

"Thanks for trying Lincoln. May I call from time to time to see how he is doing?"

"Of course you can, Catherine. I'm sorry you made that decision and I think you make a beautiful couple and that the feeling between the two of you is reciprocated."

Catherine smiled, although it was a sad smile, "Thank you again."

Two days later...

Lincoln went to Steve's house. Danny had returned home and Junior was at Tani's house. Steve opened the door and Lincoln stood distantly on the porch of the house. "Hi. I just came to see how you are doing."

"You can come in, Lincoln. You don't have to stand there on the porch," Steve told him.

"Can we talk on the beach then? I think the outdoors is a little less dangerous."

"That's fine. No cases have been reported here in Hawaii yet, and that's making me a little less nervous."

"But don't relax in your care," Linncoln warned him. They sat on the beach chairs and talked for a while.

"She's here," Lincoln told Steve at the end of the conversation.

"She?" Steve asked a little confused. "Catherine?" He felt his heart flutter knowing that she was on the island again.

"Yes," Lincoln replied and waited for Steve's reaction.

Steve soon realized that Lincoln had called her. "She was the one who helped us..."

"Yes, and when I told her you were leaving with no return date she came to the island."

"And why didn't she come here?" Steve asked.

"Her plan was to meet you on the plane and leave with you. She won't come if you don't call her."

"Really?" Steve was surprised by Lincoln's revelation.

"Yes, and I came here to tell you that she is leaving tonight. The flight leaves at 9:00 p.m." Lincoln stood up. "I just thought you'd like to know that. Take care."

Lincoln left and Steve remained seated in his chair as he watched the waves come and go. "Everything comes and goes just like the waves of the sea..."
