He felt cold which wasn't the worst feeling he had experienced lately, but this was limb-numbing cold. Then there was also the awful feeling of liquid in his ears muffling all the sounds around him like being underwater. He knew that he wasn't underwater, because he was still able to breathe, and as far as he could remember he couldn't breathe underwater. He could hear voices, but he couldn't understand what they were saying, which would be more concerning if a stabbing pain in his chest had suddenly become his main concern.
"Idiot…alive….too…far."
"Back up….body…mind.."
He picked up pieces of sentences that made absolutely no sense, and attempted to move his arms to alleviate the horrible feeling spreading up and down his chest. Then panic set in at the inability to move an inch, finally opening his eyes remembering what happened. His wrists were held by metal bands and he was stuck on an operation table. Heart rate speeding up the pain increased again causing him to gasp.
They weren't going to kill him, but this was sooo much worse. He didn't know what these nutzos wanted with him, but he knew it wasn't anything good.
"Let..go…" He muttered words slurred and his felt a slimy hand grab his arm before a sharp needle was inserted into one of his veins.
"Hold still, don't worry now we can't kill you, our master would be displeased. He wants to talk to you." The slimy alien said with an evil grin with sharp teeth, and before a burning sensation traveled down his arm and his insides felt like they were melting. God he preferred the freezing metal he was laying on, because this was so much worse. He wasn't even aware when he started screaming and that he couldn't get it to stop until the darkness of unconsciousness welcomed him with open arms.
The slimy alien grinned at the passed out Guardian glad to see the mixture seemed to be doing it's job perfectly if the grimaces of pain on his victim's face were a good indication. He thrived on his ability to cause pain there was a reason his master entrusted him to this task. Of course with how frail a typical human was they might very well have to go with their back-up plan at some point. They only needed him alive, but damaged was exactly what their boss had intended. He couldn't wait to get to the more fun stuff and he looked at his table of tools with a toothy grin he just had to decide what to try first.
