I do not own Kickin It or any of it's characters

This story is kinda sloppy and rushed but I wrote it for someone so my heart wasn't in it I guess

Enjoy!(:

A wintery wind penetrated Kims insufficient coat that she shivered beneath. It was a cold Seaford saturday, colder than normal and of course she got there just in time to watch the early bus drive away. Kim walked along the sad gray sidewalk towards the mall that was a mile or so away. It wouldnt have felt so far if she hadnt already walked from her house to the bus stop and she was getting annoyed at the sound of her own chattering teeth.

Finally she could see the dojo that her stiff legs walked towards. Her mind was focused on the locker room showers and the warm water washing away the shivers.

Finally she opened the door to what was basically her second home. It was empty but for Rudy who was punching the vending machine.

"Hey Rudy.", chuckled Kim.

"Oh hey Kim. Stupid vending machine stole my corn nuts...", mumbled Rudy as he hit it a couple more times.

She just chuckled and shook her head as she went into the locker room.

She quickly got into the shower and turned the handle to hot.

Nothing but ice cold water covered her head to toe. She quickly turned it off though she was already soaked to the bone with what felt like glacier water.

"Oh Kim I forgot to tell you the hot water pipes are frozen.", yelled an unaware Rudy.

Normally she'd yell back in her normal angry way, but she felt more like balling her eyes out. Tears were climbing up her throat until she heard the sound of ruckus which could only mean the boys had arrived.

Kim swallowed her much needed cry and quickly dried her hair with a towel and put on her gi.

She walked out slightly dreading the energetic bunch. Luckily they were pretty distracted by some silly debate that she was too tired to figure out.

"Hey Kim!", said Jack with a sweet cheerful grin.

"Hi!", she replied with as much energy as she could muster.

He cocked his head ever so slightly with his smile fading. "You doin' okay today hon?", he asked gently.

He noticed the shade of white that replaced her normally rosy cheeks, and a weary look in her eye she tried to hide.

Before she had a chance to reply Rudys voice boomed above the others.

"That is absurd! If I hear 'Nanna was a Ninja was better than Kung Fu Flight' one more time I am going to flip you so hard you wont remember that Nanna was ever a Ninja!".

"Okay okay calm down Rudy. Come on Milton lets spar.", said Jack with an amused smile.

The gang broke off with Milton sparring Jack, Jerry sparring with Rudy and Kim practicing on the dummy. She prayed her unresolved shivers would stop but she had no relief. She knew if she didn't give her all today like she normally did than they would notice. So she kicked and punched with energy she didnt have. And with every excertion of weakened energy the dummy in front of her got a little blurrier.

She had no choice but to stop before she realized the boys had left. She sighed with relief as she surprisingly found the wall that she greatfully slid down. The boys usually went to Phalafel Phils every morning for breakfast while Kim stayed back for extra practice. Her relief was interupted by the thought of their return. Though after a while her anxiety seemed less important than how she felt. Exhaustion didnt quite describe it as she held her cold arms that wished for warmth.

The boys walked through the courtyard feeling delightfully full. Turns out the answer to their previous debate was Phalafel balls.

They laughed over a remark Jerry had made about Phils disgusting yet irresistable hummus when they opened the dojo door.

They all looked curiously worried at the sleeping Kim that leaned against the wall.

Jack approached as he leaned down to her level. "Kim?", he said softly.

She didnt move as he put his hand on her cheek. His hand felt the cold eminating before their skin ever met. He looked at the group with a worried expression.

Jack quickly put his arms under her delicate form and picked her up holding her shivering body close. He quickly thought up a plan as he raced into Rudys office.

"Jerry grab me your extra sweatshirt please.", he said quickly and calmly.

Jerry did so as Jack turned the radiator up putting it right next to Kim on the couch where he'd placed her ever so gently. Only now did he notice her hair was wet.

"Why is her hair wet? Does anyone know what she did this morning?", asked Jack.

"She must've taken a shower here. I warned her about the hot water pipes being frozen but I guess it was too late. Oh and she was later than usual.", said Rudy.

"She must've missed the bus.", suggested Jerry as he and Jack slid her into the sweatshirt.

Their hearts panged thinking how awful that all must've been and how it lead to this.

Milton brought the box of hand warmers he kept in his locker which they were all greatful to see. They put many of them under her sweatshirt and took a few for themselves.

Jack held her tightly as he rubbed his hands up and down her arms.

The boys hung around all day worried for their girl. Though she was getting warmer, it was slow and her body was working too hard to keep her warm it didn't have the energy to keep her awake.

It was dark out now and they did everything they could before heading home.

Jack stayed with Kim in his arms as he started to feel her shuffle.

Her eyes opened against moonlight that came in through the office window.

She looked up at Jack too tired to be surprised. She could easily guess what had happened. And for some reason she didn't care.

He smiled at her with love and worry.

She found his hand as their fingers naturally interlocked. Her head leaned on his chest as he stroked her arm up and down now becoming habit.

His hand caressed her cheek happy to find warmth. His touch whispered safety. It told her he would always be there. He would always keep her warm.
