This idea came to me recently in regards to fixing a flaw from "Obi-Wan Kenobi".
I haven't properly watched the series but did watch plenty of clips and read comments on YouTube and put together I've found it to be a well written, solid, and almost excellent series but perhaps with minimal amounts of both flaws and woke. And as for flaws but this one I'm referring to is when Vader gently set Reva onto her feet after berating her seeming failure.
Originally I was alright with it but them others pointed out, among other issues, how being gentle with Reva doesn't make sense when he threw his own pregnant wife to the side after attacking her on Mustafar.
I'll admit that was perhaps a bit woke and I don't know if anyone has already written a correction but I'm going to try my own hand at it.
Disclaimer: I don't own "Obi-Wan Kenobi" or the wider "Star Wars" franchise or any related dialogue.
Setting: Fortress Inquisitorious
Location: Inquisitor Meeting Room
The powerful energies of the Dark Side of the Force emitted in waves across the room as Reva and her two fellow Inquisitors watched as Darth Vader came storming through the corridor towards them, flanked by stormtroopers and his rage and fury evident without the 3 present Inquisitors having to sense it. Marching forwards towards Reva, he quickly thrusted out his hand and tightened his fingers as she suddenly found herself flying in the air and her throat in the grip of an invisible chokehold while her two colleagues quickly backed away in fear of the enraged Sith Lord.
"You were warned, what defeat, would bring," Vader boomed emotionally and his anger more than palpable while exerting his invisible grip and tightening it in a show of strength before his voice became colder.
"I will tolerate no weakness, no longer," he added while continuing to strangle Reva as she gasped for breath and struggled to breathe. She was barely able to speak and struggled with her words due to the chokehold but was finally able to form them out albeit barely.
"I let them go," she choked out and Vader, intrigued, opened his fingers and loosened his grip upon her throat, allowing her to speak.
"I put a tracker on the ship. Soon the location of the network, and Kenobi will be ours," she further explained to him.
Vader found himself impressed by Reva's ingenuity but maintained his grasp upon her as she still dangled in the air.
"It seems, I have underestimated you," the dark lord replied to her and immediately after which the Fifth Brother spoke up.
"But my lord, the base was almost destroyed," he protested to which Vader found himself annoyed at that tidbit and in response he flicked his wrist and flung Reva hard against the side of the conference table upon which her back made impact with the table before she collapsed to the floor in an undignified heap, groaning in pain. Before she could lift herself up, Vader strode forwards and lifting up his leg placed his boot onto her side, pinning her down.
"There can be no mistakes. You're certain the tracker is with him?" he coldly warned then asked her.
"Yes milord. Where he goes, it will follow," she softly assured him while feeling trepidation as to what he'd do to her next and could only hope she survived.
"Thank you. Keep me informed Third Sister and remember. No mistakes!" he finally said to her before removing his leg from her body and turning around, stormed away with the stormtroopers quickly following behind him and leaving Reva grateful he'd spared her this time. Her latest encounter with him reminding and further reinforcing that Lord Vader was not someone to be trifled with and that she'd best remember it.
The End
A/N I hope everyone enjoyed this.
Regarding "Obi-Wan Kenobi" but from what I'd read it might've been even better due to so many Darth Vader scenes having been filmed that it would've felt more like a Vader than a Kenobi series along with Cody being in the original script. But they were all cut.
I suspect what might've happened was while Deborah Chow, who respects the franchise and directed some "The Mandalorian" episodes, had majority control over the project Kathleen Kennedy might've interfered for her own agenda and that's why there were a few flaws and woke such as the original scene that inspired this one shot.
Except her interference, if it happened, was apparently minimal or kept in check while Chow had primary control and that's why the issues weren't as bad as they could've been while I think Vader was given respect.
Have a blessed day.
