"Hey, Lotus," Shayna said.
Lotus looked towards the cell door to see the prison guard standing there.
"Two police officers are here to see you," Shayna said.
"Why?" Lotus asked.
"How the hell should I know?" Shayna chuckled. "I can go tell them to kick rocks if you don't want to see them but I would advice you to go. They usually don't take no for an answer."
Lotus followed Shayna through the place. She was escorted into a room where two police officers were waiting. She remembered them. They had worked on her case. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. They looked shocked at how she looked.
"What the hell happened?" Roman asked.
"I slipped yesterday and hit my head," Lotus lied.
"Don't fucking bullshit us around like that," Seth said.
Lotus sighed and sat down. It didn't matter if they knew. There was nothing they could do about it.
"I have some issues with three women. Don't worry about it. It only happens about once a month," Lotus said.
"Once a month?" Roman's jaw dropped. "What the hell, Lotus?"
Lotus wasn't about to start explaining anything. She needed them to cut to the chase.
"Why are you here?" Lotus asked.
"Right, I nearly forgot," Roman chuckled. "It's happening again."
"What is?" Lotus asked.
"The weird killings in the hospital. Someone started doing it again," Roman said.
"It might be a copycat," Seth said.
Lotus wanted to reach across the table and slap the taste out of Seth's mouth for saying that. There was no copycat because she had never killed anyone. Whoever was doing it now had to be the same person doing it back then.
"I told you I was innocent," Lotus said.
"You gotta understand how it looked. The evidence was pointing at you. It always happened when you were at work. Those people were your patients," Roman said.
"And someone used that to frame me," Lotus said. "Someone who thought they could stop but clearly wasn't able to. How about you do your job right this time and actually catch who did it?"
"That's why we're here," Roman said. "We need your help."
Lotus looked over at Seth.
"I want him to say it," Lotus said.
"What?" Seth asked.
"Say it and I'll do it," Lotus said.
"Come on," Roman poked Seth with his elbow.
"Fine!" Seth said annoyed. "We need your help."
"Bring me the schedule of everyone working since it started happening. Both now but also back in the days. I'll see if I can see something that you missed," Lotus said.
"Are you saying we're bad at our work?" Seth asked.
"That's exactly what I'm saying because you fucking suck," Lotus stood up. "That's how I ended in here."
Lotus walked over to the door and knocked on it to tell the guards she needed to be let out. She looked back at Roman and Seth who kept sitting at the table.
"I'm also expecting an apology once you catch whoever did it," Lotus said. "Oh, and one of you better put ten dollars into my account right now. I need to call someone and let him know about this."
"Who?" Roman asked.
"The only person who seems to care about me these days," Lotus said.
"I'll do it right now," Roman said.
"Dude!" Seth hissed.
"Don't fucking read the rulebook to me right now," Roman said. "We need her help. Ten dollars is the least we can do."
Lotus left the room and waited about 30 minutes. She knew Baron's phone number by heart. He had sent it to her ages ago and told her to call if she ever felt like it. She had wanted to so many times but she never could find the courage. Now she suddenly needed to hear his voice. She finally picked up the phone and dialed his number. She kept looking at the clock on the wall, and then suddenly his voice came through.
"Hello?" He asked.
She held her breath. So many times she had wondered how his voice sounded. She knew how he looked. He had sent many pictures. But somehow he didn't truly become real until this moment where she heard his voice.
"Hello?" He asked again.
"Baron?" She asked lowly.
"Who is this?" He asked.
She was afraid how he would react knowing it was her. Mostly she was afraid he would either hang up or laugh at her and tell her it was all just a joke made out of boredom and that he never cared about her.
"It's me. It's Lotus," she answered.
"Lotus? Oh my god, it's really you?" He asked happily. "It's so good to finally hear your voice."
Her heart felt lighter and she couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah?" She asked.
"Hell yeah!" He laughed. "I never thought you'd actually call. I kept hoping for it but I didn't think you would."
"I have some news," she said.
"Tell me," he said.
"I just had a visit from the cops. It's happening again. Someone started killing patients again," she said.
"I fucking knew it!" He yelled. "I knew you were innocent! I always fucking knew it!"
