"Them cop boys are back," Shayna said. "Care to tell me what's it all about?"
"You'll know when the rest of the world is being told," Lotus said.

Shayna smirked and clicked her tongue.

"You really are innocent, aren't you?" Shayna asked.

Lotus smirked back as her only answer. Shayna turned around and escorted Lotus to the same room. Roman and Seth were waiting there. They looked pleased to see Lotus' bruises fading and that new ones hadn't been added.

"Please, sit," Roman said.

Lotus sat down, and Seth pushed a pile of papers over to her.

"We know there's a lot but it's everything you asked for," Roman said.
"Is it possible to get a soda?" Lotus asked.
"That should be doable," Roman answered. "Seth, go see if you can find something."
"What flavor?" Seth asked.
"Cola if they have it," Lotus said.
"If they have soda, of course they have cola. Who doesn't have cola?" Seth asked.
"I see your attitude is as shitty as always," Lotus said.
"Do you want a soda or not?" Seth asked.
"Seth!" Roman said firmly. "Go find a cola for Lotus."

Seth left the room and Lotus started looking at the papers. It hurt to see her old coworkers' names. Their lives had gone on as if nothing had happened. She was locked away while they continued living. She stopped when she saw her ex boyfriend's name. A shiver went through her entire body.

"Are you okay?" Roman asked.
"Matt Riddle," she pointed at the name. "He's my ex. We lived together. I didn't know he had been hired at the hospital. He was a nurse at the hospice back then."
"Did it fall apart when you went to prison?" He asked.
"Yeah," she sighed. "You know, I don't blame him for it. I got life. There was nothing for him to wait around for. I'm not even sad anymore. I don't love him anymore. If anything, I'm angry with him. Not angry for leaving but the reason why. He actually believed I did it. My own boyfriend left me because he thought I was a murderer. That part hurts the most."
"I can imagine," he said.

The door opened and Seth came back with a cola in his hand. He placed it down in front of Lotus and sat down again.

"What did I miss?" Seth asked.
"Her ex works there now," Roman said.
"Matt Riddle," Lotus pointed at the name again. "It's not him. He's an idiot but not a murderer."

She went through several pages and crossed out names. Everyone who hadn't worked there back then couldn't be the one, just like the ones not working there anymore weren't the one either. She only needed the names of those she knew and worked with back then who were still working there.

"This is gonna take a long time," Seth said.
"Maybe we should think about lunch," Roman said.
"I can go to McDonalds," Seth offered.
"I don't eat that crap," Lotus said.
"Do you honestly think you're in any position to get a choice?" Seth asked.

Lotus pushed the papers away and stood up.

"Good luck," Lotus said.
"What? You think you're smart? We can just drop the case and leave you to rot in here," Seth said.
"And the killings will continue," Lotus said.
"Stop it. You're acting like kids," Roman said. "What would you like for lunch, Lotus?"
"Something with chili and beans. Other than that, I'm open to anything. I just can't stand McDonalds food," Lotus said.
"I'll make sure that will happen," Roman held out his hand. "Please, sit down and help us."

Lotus sat back down, took a sip of her cola, and started looking through papers again. She sat there for hours, crossing out things, writing little notes, eventually eating lunch, emptying another bottle of cola, and then she suddenly snapped for air when realization hit her.

"No way," she said lowly. "No fucking way."
"What?" Seth asked.
"No wonder you couldn't figure it out. You're not looking for one person. There's two of them," Lotus said.
"Huh?" Roman leaned over the table. "Who?"
"The twins," Lotus pointed at their names. "Nikki and Brie Bella. I was always at work with at least one of them when someone died, and it only ever happened when the other one had a shift right before us. The twin working before us would stay, and they would work together on killing people. It's the only thing that makes sense. There's no other pattern here but those two, and they were always acting weird."
"Weird how?" Roman asked.
"It's hard to explain. The way they looked at each other and would keep to themselves. They had their own little world that no one else was invited to join. They creeped out a lot of people. I remember a few patients scared of them as well. Funny how those patients ended up dead," Lotus said.

Roman and Seth both turned all the papers around and started looking through them. Lotus was right. Those two names showed up in the pattern she had pointed out.

"We can't be sure yet," Seth said.
"Set up extra cameras in the rooms for old people," Lotus said. "Catch them in the act."
"We can't allow them to kill someone else just to prove a point," Roman said.
"Place an extra camera at the medicine cabinet without telling anyone. Somehow the one that was placed there always stopped working. You know whoever is doing it is stealing drugs to pump into people. You thought I was experimenting to see what would kill the fastest," Lotus said.
"Or most painful," Seth smirked. "I always took you for a sadist."
"I still want that apology," Lotus looked from Seth to Roman. "I'm telling you, it's them. Put up those cameras and see for yourself. Catch them before they kill again."

Lotus stood up and walked over to the door.

"Anything else you need?" Roman asked.
"No, I still got some money left on my card from last time. I'm saving the rest to call Baron again once you catch those two," Lotus said.
"Who's Baron?" Seth asked.
"My penpal," Lotus answered. "He's the only one who's cared about me while I was in here. I honestly don't care if he doesn't want to ever meet me. I just want to be able to tell him when I'm being released."
"I can wire some more money," Roman offered.
"I don't want your money," Lotus said. "I just want my freedom."

Lotus looked from Roman to Seth. There was a little smile on Seth's face. Seth might act tough but she could see he admired her somewhere.

"And an apology," Lotus added.
"We'll see," Seth said. "If you're right about those twins, you'll get your apology and another soda."
"Hold him to that promise, Roman," Lotus said.
"Oh, I will," Roman chuckled. "Stay out of trouble until we meet again."
