(Darryl had a lot on his mind as he drove away from Andy's funeral. He knew Andy was a good cop. He knew that Andy was a good friend. He also knew that Andy had some secrets that he was trying to protect him from and those secrets involved Prue Halliwell. Darryl kept replaying his last conversation with Andy over in his head)
(Having finished his interrogation with Inspector Rodriguez, Andy had gone to meet with Prue and learned about the demon as well as the time loop. Andy knew what he had to do. He knew Roguiez was a demon and that he was after couldn't let that happen. He had to warn Darryl. Having recently turned in his shield, Andy had asked Darryl to meet him at a nearby park from the station)
Darryl: How did your talk go with Prue? Everything alright?
Andy: I'm not sure yet. Listen Morris, I'm going to ask you for a favor and I need you to promise me that you're going to do it and that you're not going to ask a lot of questions.
Darryl: Andy what…?
Andy: Dammit Darryl! Promise me!
Darryl: Okay, of course. What is it?
Andy: I need you to deliver a message for me to Prue.
Darryl: Weren't you just with her…
Andy: I mean later. After. I need you to tell her that if anything happens to me, it is not her fault. You tell her that she is not to blame herself, no matter what.
Darryl: What does she have you involved in, man? Why won't you tell me?
Andy: Trust me, it's safer if you don't know. I'm not not telling you because I don't want to or because I don't trust you, you've been an incredible partner. I'm not telling you because honestly, I don't think you would believe me anyway.
Darryl: Try me.
Andy: Just know that she is connected to all of our unsolved cases and she and her sisters helped stop the killers. She's a good one Morris. One of the best people I've ever known.
Darryl: You still love her, don't you?
Andy: A part of me always will. Promise me that you will tell her.
Darryl: You have my word.
(Darryl continued to drive home. He couldn't help but wonder what was the big secret? How did Andy know something was going to happen to him? In death, one can't help but think about life. Darryl still had one to live and that life involved his girlfriend Sheila. Darryl and Sheila had met two years prior when Darryl desperately needed his hair cut and his barber had canceled last minute. In a jam, he hit up a friend who suggested that he go see up-and-coming stylist Sheila and let her take care of him. Darryl found Sheila to be very attractive with her milk chocolate skin, her pixie styled hair, her soft touch with the chippers, and she was talented as she had not only fixed his hair to his liking, but made it even better)
Darryl: You got skills girl, this is amazing. (admiring his look in the mirror)
Sheila: I'm glad you like it.
Darryl: How about as a thank you…you let me take you to dinner? (shooting his shout)
Sheila: I don't date clients.
Darryl: Oh come on, a gorgeous woman, beautiful smile, I'm not looking too bad. What have you got to lose?
Sheila: Darryl just know if we don't work out, I won't do your hair again.
Darryl: I'll take my chances.
Sheila: And I guess so will I. So where are you taking me Darryl?
Darryl: Have you ever been to a restaurant named Quake?
(Darryl arrived early in a nice purple shirt and some dress pants. Sheila arrived a bit later in a short blue metallic dress. Darryl and Sheila are in the middle of dinner when Darryl's cell phone goes off)
Darryl: I'm sorry, I have to take this.
Sheila: No problem. Go ahead.
Darryl: Morris…yeah I did hear about it…I know…we'll talk about it tomorrow, Trudeau. Good night (hanging up the phone) I'm sorry about that. Work.
Sheila: And what do you do?
Darryl:I'm a cop with the San Francisco Police Department.
Sheila: A cop wow! Impressive. What made you want to be a cop?
Darryl: It runs in the family. My father got into some legal trouble in the 60's, turned his life around and has been a cop ever since. I admire the hell out of the man, and here I am. Plus I like protecting people and catching the bad guys. So what about you? How did you get into hair?
Sheila: My Grandmother, she was phenomenal with a hot comb and I adored everything that she did. Plus you make people feel great about themselves with the right cut or right look. I like spreading that feeling. So for right now, I'm just building up my portfolio.
Darryl: That's very nice. Do you want work in a salon one day or something?
Sheila: I'm not just going to work in a salon, I'm going to own one and name it after my grandmother Sandra.
(Darryl and Sheila continue their dinner with good conversation and Darryl escorts Sheila home)
Darryl: So, what are your thoughts about tonight?
Sheila: I had a really good time.
Darryl: Chances that you want to see each other again? I'm feeling something here.
Sheila: Well, I mean, you're attractive, thanks to me. You hold good conversation. You have a good job and a strong sense of pride.
Darryl: We both care about family and legacy. And I think we look good together. I would really like to see you again.
Sheila: Would you like to come in?
(They continue to talk inside and get closer. Drawn together, Darryl and Sheila couldn't help but feel an intimacy growing between them. As they kissed on the couch, the intimacy only grew more intense)
Darryl: Should we stop? (not wanting to get ahead of himself)
Sheila: Don't you dare.
(Neither Darryl or Sheila were "sleep on the first date kind of people", but the attraction between them was undeniable. They continue to see each other. Darryl was there to encourage Sheila in her dreams and Sheila was there for Darryl whenever things got rough on the job. Darryl and Sheila hadn't been apart since that night.)
(Finally reaching his apartment, he parked his car and took something out of the glove compartment. He headed inside. Sheila was waiting for him)
Sheila: There you are.
Darryl: Hey.
Sheila: I'm so sorry. (wrapping her arms around him in a long hug to express her sorrow and support for his loss) How are you doing? Are you okay?
Darryl: Yeah, I'm alright. (sitting down on the couch)
Sheila: You didn't eat breakfast this morning. Are you hungry? I fixed you a plate.
Darryl: Yeah that would be great.
(As Sheila went to heat up his food, Darryl took out a box from his pocket, opened it and placed it on the table)
Sheila: Okay, we have some eggs over easy, some grits, some biscuits and gravy….
(As Sheila walked back into the room she was stunned by what she saw sitting on the table. A diamond ring in a blue box)
Shelia: Darryl…What is that? (putting down the plate and joining him on the couch)
Darryl: Sheila baby, we have been together for a while now. You have seen me through some things on this job. You've always been my constant in the storm. You are a remarkable woman of beauty and grace. And with everything that has happened, life is too short. And I don't want to live another day without making you my wife. (getting down on one knee) Sheila, please say you'll marry me.
Sheila: Oh My God Darryl! (wiping tears from her eyes) Baby Yes! Of course!
(Getting off of his knee, Darryl grabbed Sheila into a kiss. He placed the ring on her finger)
Sheila: I was starting to worry if you were ever going to.
Darryl: I would be a fool to not.
Sheila: I didn't think it was going to be today. Especially given the circumstances.
Darryl: It's like I said, life is short. I don't know if Andy ever wanted to get married again but I do know that he loved someone and they never got the chance I'm sure he wanted. We have to live for today because tomorrow is not promised.
Sheila: Amen to that. Mrs. Sheila Morris. I like the sound of that. (glancing at her ring)
Darryl: So do I. (kissing her)
