(After two years of wedded bliss, Darryl and Sheila continued to expand their lives together. Darryl continued his work as a cop while Sheila was a successful hair stylist with her own salon, Sandra's Hair Care. They had even started a family with their first born son Mikey They had an open and honest relationship…Well almost honest. Darryl had discovered that they sisters were witches and he had kept their secret as Andy had, but that also meant keeping it from Sheila. At first, he thought it was for her own protection, but as time went on, it was getting a little more difficult to hide the truth. It had taken Darryl quite some time to be open to the world of the supernatural and he couldn't decide whether it was better for Sheila to know or not. But the events of May 17th, 2001 had changed everything. Prue Halliwell was dead, and if something that horrible could happen to one of the bravest people that he had known, it could happen to him or worse to Sheila. Sheila was playing with Mikey, when Darryl came home for the evening)
Sheila: Oh look who's home! Daddy's home. (bouncing the baby on her leg)
Darryl: Hey little man. (kissing his forehead) Hey Babe. (kissing her on the cheek)
Shelia: Are you okay? (looking at his face and sensing that something was off)
Darryl: No I'm not.
(Normally, Darryl did his best to not take the job home. One of the few ways to stay sane as a cop is having that separate home life, but this unbearable. Darryl couldn't hide this)
Sheila: Rough day? (putting the baby down in his crib)
Darryl: One of the worse. There was a murder today. And it was someone that I knew.
Sheila: Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Who was it?
Darryl: You remember my old partner Andy right?
Sheila: Of course.
Darryl: It was his ex-girlfriend, Prue Halliwell.
Sheila: Prue Halliwell? Why is that name familiar to me?
(Sheila walked out of the nursery and into the living room grabbing a magazine off of the table. Shelia began flipping the pages in front of Darryl)
Sheila: I thought so, photographer Prue Halliwell. (pointing to the credits on a page) The women at the salon are always reading this. 415 Magazine. I pick it up from time to time and Prue's photos are always so beautiful. What happened to her?
Darryl: It's a long story. And that's what I want to talk to you about. Shelia baby, I haven't been totally honest with you. I always felt it was better that you don't know. There are things…How do I explain this?
Sheila: Just talk Darryl. You're starting to scare me.
Darryl: You know how there are people out there who believe in ghosts and UFO's and that kind of stuff?
Sheila: Sure, we've always said those people were crazy.
Darryl: I used to, but not anymore. This is going to be difficult for you to understand but try and be open. Sheila, magic exists in the world. I'm not talking Siegfried & Roy kind of stuff. I mean real magic. Specifically witchcraft.
Sheila: I'm confused, what does this have to do with the Halliwell girl?
Darryl: She was a witch. Her and her two other sisters are witches. And she was murdered today by a demon.
(As Sheila struggled to take everything in, it only invented more questions)
Sheila: How long have you known about all of this? Witches? Demons?
Darryl: It wasn't until after Andy died. I had my suspicions and then seeing one too many unexplainable things on the job, soon I learned that it was all connected to the Halliwell's. The demons in this world, I pray that you never have to see. But with their powers, the sisters have put a stop to a lot of evil in this world. Today, it caused them to lose their sister.
(Sheila could see just how affected Darryl was by this loss. It was similar to when Andy died)
Sheila: They sound like good people.
Darryl: They really are.
Sheila: Witches! You know what, that's not so hard to believe. People with special abilities, using it to help others. But demons…wow! So is that what happened to Andy? A demon?
Darryl: Yeah. A different one than the one that killed Prue. I don't know when he found out or how long he believed…actually, I think a part of him always believed. But the day he died, he knew something was going to happen to him. And he told me to tell Prue that it wouldn't be her fault. She blamed herself anyway. They really loved each other…Fate had other plans I guess.
Sheila: At least they're together now.
Dattyl: So, you're okay with all of this?
Sheila: Surprisingly, yeah. I'm just sorry you've had to carry this burden by yourself for this long. Of all of the things I thought I had to worry about with you on the job, this was nowhere on the list.
Darryl: I just felt it was time you knew. And Baby I promise, I 'm going to do everything in my power to keep us safe from all of this.
Sheila: I know you will. I don't doubt for a second that you'll protect us. I know the man that I married. And I'm guessing that means protecting the sisters as well?
Darryl: Yeah. You can't tell a soul any of this.
Sheila: I won't. If you trust them then I trust them too.
Darryl: You are taking this a whole lot better than I did.
Sheila: I have always been a little more open minded than you.
Darryl: This is true. I knewI married the right woman.
Sheila: So tell me, have you seen demons before?
Darryl: A couple of them actually.
Sheila: Really?
Darryl: Yeah. And they wouldn't look how you think they would look. They look like completely normal people. There was this one woman with this freaky tongue thing and then another that was all white, bald heads, it was like they were choking the life out of me. And I went blind for a minute. But Leo, their whitelighter…he's a whole other story and one of the sister's husband's. He has powers too. He can heal people. He healed my eyesight.
(As Darryl continued on his tangent of his encounters with the supernatural, he was relieved at how good it felt to finally share these things with his wife. Although he couldn't help but worry what danger this might put them in)
