(Here is Part 3. Sorry if it's getting too cutesy hehe. I hope you enjoy! I own nothing but my OC.)
...
Right!...Left!...Right! Right!...Left! Ah!
Naomi winced when her last jab landed wrong and the wood of the practice beam splintered a bit under the impact of her punch.
She paused in her hand-to-hand combination practice to check her hand when someone shouted her name across the practice field.
"Hey!...Naomi! May I join you for training?" Lee asked in between pants as he ran up to where his friend stood.
Naomi turned and offered Lee a half smile while still holding her hand. "S-sure Lee, but...aren't you tired from your own training?" Shaking his head, Lee beamed back, pausing to catch his breath when he reached her.
"Nah! I always have energy enough to train with you, Naomi-Chan! So! Shall we start with a punch repetition contest? Whoever completes the least amount of repetitions in one minute has to do 20 kick repetitions with each leg on that beam." Lee proposed excitedly, pointing at the pole that Naomi had been training on before.
Naomi nodded, eager to follow her friend's suggestion as there was no one else she enjoyed competing and training with more in her whole class.
"Yes! And then we should have one sparring match to practice the substitution jutsu together." She clapped her hands together to express her own excitement only to whimper when the action caused an unexpected sting on her hand.
Lee's face immediately shifted from happy enthusiasm to concern. "Are you all right?"
"H-hai!" Naomi nodded sheepishly. "It's just a scratch I forgot I had." She started to hide her left hand behind her back when Lee swiftly grabbed her arm, stopping her.
"You have a splinter, Naomi. We should take it out before we continue training." Lee started to reach for the tiny piece of wood that was lodged in his friend's skin, pausing and looking back up at her as if to ask for permission to continue.
Biting her lip, Naomi nodded and squeezed her eyes shut, gasping when she felt the splinter being yanked from her wound.
"Got it!" Lee triumphantly lifted the offending bit of wood in the air before tossing it over his shoulder. Naomi gave him a shy smile. "Thanks Lee. Sh-shall we start the competition now?" She asked.
Lee nodded in response. "No problem! And yes! After we bandage your hand." He reached towards his tool pouch and produced a small roll of linen bandaging.
"I always keep some with me since I'm always scraping myself while training. Everyone says I try too hard." He chuckled sheepishly before holding the roll out to her. Naomi chuckled with him.
"May I?" Lee asked. Naomi shrugged and looked back down at her hand where only a little blood seeped from the little cut. "Sure. Thank you." She thanked Lee again as he quickly set to work wrapping the cut. When he finished, he beamed back at her.
"You're welcome, Naomi-Chan. Now!" He gently clasped her hand between his before letting go and dropping into the push up position on the ground. "Let us begin! Ready?" He looked up at Naomi expectantly and she slowly dropped down next to him in the same position.
"One!...Two!...Three!..."
