"Master chief!"
Master Chief John James Urgayle stood to attention. "Yes sir."
"You have some new instructors joining your crew next week."
"Yes sir. May I ask who sir?"
"Lieutenant commander O'Neil and I believe you know his fellow instructors Mccool, Cortex, and Solvik. Her other teammates Wickwire, Newberry, and Miller will join as instructors with the other group here at the base."
The master chief did not allow his shock to show on his face.
"Of course sir. When will they be arriving?"
"At 0800 hours.
The master chief nodded and his commanding officer left.
He knew that there had been lots of talk about new instructors coming on to the base, especially as they had expanded the base recently and needed new instructors but he wasn't expecting them, he wasn't expecting her.
…
"Hey, O'neil think this time around you can play nicely with the master chief?" McCool laughed as they waited for the bird to set down.
O'Neil shrugged. "I mean I did save his life last time I was here."
"Beginners luck," Slovnik called out, narrowly avoiding the kick that was sent his way by O'Neil.
"Slovnik, I like you better when you're sleeping."
"We-"
"Shut it Slovnik no one wants to hear you joke around about O'neil's bed, besides we all know it's been empty for months," Cortex interjected to cringe when Mccool elbowed him in the ribs.
"I heard a rumour that we are going to have a few female recruits in this lot," Newberry interjected before O'neil, Slovnik, and Cortex could get into their usual pissing match.
Mccool rolled his eyes at his squadmates. "You know after our last tour I thought you three would grow up." Newberry banged his head.
"Never," came the immediate response, causing all three to glare at each other before laughing and leaving the matter alone.
"Think these girls will have half the fire of our girl?" Slovnik asked, nodding towards O'Neil who looked like she was asleep.
Mccool, Newberry, Wickwire, and Miller shook their heads as Cortez snorted.
"There never has been and never will be another person fearless enough to tell the master chief to suck their dick."
All the men smirked and settled into sleep while they could. None of them knew what was expected of them once they got to the base and frankly they wanted to make the most of this time alone together while they could. Even though 6 months had passed, all were still pretty shaken up by their last mission and tended to stay close to each other.
…
"Instructor pyro, Instructor johns," the master chief said lazily that night at dinner. "Our new instructors are arriving tomorrow. They will be taking the last remaining instructor cabin as I have been informed they have asked to remain together. While they are familiar with the base they are unfamiliar with the instructor side of things so it will be your job to escort them around the base tomorrow. They arrive at 0800 hours. the chief has taken a particular interest in this crew and will personally assign us all, myself including a newbie instructor to supervise.``
The other men looked at each other in shock. They knew that they had new instructors coming but from the sound of things they were from the same seal team which was rare and rarer was the chief taking an interest in them.
"Who are they master chief?" Pyro asked.
The master chief smirked. "Oh trust me you'll hate for me to ruin the surprise."
..
Both John and Pyro were glad for the years of instructions recruits that required them to master their poker faces when they saw the new instructors coming off their bird the next morning. They all had kept tabs on their particular crew after they left training 4 years ago and had heard about what happened to their unit 6 months ago and could understand straight away why they had requested to bunk together and of course, why the chief had taken a special interest in them and personally they both believed that the master chief had a huge interest in this particular crew, after all, they had saved his life.
"Cortex, Mccool, Slovnik, Wickwire, Newberry, Miller, and O'neil good to see you all again,'' Johns said smirking, an idea forming in his head.
They gave them a tour of the base and sat down with them to inform them of their new duties and what was expected of them.
"The main thing to remember is we work as a team and we all answer to the master chief. He's in charge and his word is law, you also need to keep in mind our job is not to be their friend. To be a seal you need to be strong as you all well know. We foster teamwork amongst the recruits and teach them respect and we weed out the weak,'' Pyro reminded them all as they stood to leave.
"And now for the fun stuff, we are going out for a drink tonight and we expect you all to come along," Johns grinned at them all, putting them all at ease.
"Let's see if we can get the master chief to shout first round," Pyro asked and Johns smirked at him, glad he was thinking along the lines he was.
"O'Neil and McCool can tell him he still owes them a drink for saving his life."
O'Neil and McCool shook their heads as the others left and they left, the new instructors to put away their belongings and the old instructors to go see the master chief."
