Bella knew that she wasn't pretty. She was average. She had an average nose and average brown eyes. Average brunette hair. And an average figure.

She knew all of this, yet she couldn't help but think maybe she was a little pretty. She didn't wear makeup. She didn't like how it felt. It made her skin itch. Her doctor told her that she was allergic to it.

Bella was a senior in high school, this was her last year, and she was ready for it. She had moved here from Arizona, Phoenix two years ago. She wanted to spend her last few years of school with her father. Charlie was ecstatic when he heard this, he had told everyone in town that Bella was coming to live with him. He even re-did her bedroom. From the child-like bedroom that she remembered to a very mature, even adult-like, bedroom; that she loves now.

Even though Bella wasn't that pretty, she had a boyfriend. Jacob Black. He told her she was pretty, even though she didn't believe it, which was kind of him. He was a shapeshifter, and he told her some animal drinkers were coming to the school today and to be careful. Her response was "You know me." He responded with, "Yeah, you just attract trouble." He didn't like how I would be around vampires, but it couldn't be helped.

Bella looked down at what she was doing currently, she was attempting to make fried chicken breasts. However, it wasn't going that well, because the breading kept coming off. She decided to just go with it, and serve them up how they were.

Bella called to Charlie that dinner was done, and they both sat down to eat.

"Sorry about the breading, it kept coming off."

"That's alright, sweetheart." Charlie ate a piece of chicken and then continued talking, "Are you excited to meet the Cullens? The father, Carlisle, has been here awhile, and I've had no problem with him."

Bella shook her head at him and answered him with a yes. But Bella was honestly more concerned with Jacob's reaction when she went to La Push after school tomorrow. Should she take a shower after school tomorrow? Bella sniffed herself subconsciously. She decided she smelled okay, but she would shower before school tomorrow.

Pretty soon dinner was done and Bella was getting ready for bed.

Bella woke up from a peaceful sleep. She looked at the time and noticed it was time to start getting ready. She got dressed, put everything in her backpack, got some coffee, then went out to the truck. She loved this truck but knew one day she would have to get another vehicle because it was going downhill and fast.

She quickly climbed into the driver's side of the cab of the truck and started it, then started headed towards the school. She noticed them straight away, after all, they're not the first vampires she's seen. They stuck out like a sore thumb. Once Bella parked she peeked a glance at them and noticed how many there were. This was a big coven, she noticed.

She noticed straight away the short spikey hair on top of a small vibrating body. She was vibrating in the same spot. Bella couldn't believe it. She let out a small chuckle at this.

She opened the door to get out of the truck and started heading into the school.

"Hey! Bella, Right?" The small pixie-like vampire said to Bella when she reached her.

"I'm Alice by the way. It's nice to meet you. We're going to be best friends." Bella thought that was a weird comment but she just nodded at her anyways.

"It's nice to meet you, too."

Bella smiled at the short girl, and then turned around and started walking towards the school again.

"What's your first class? Mine is geometry." Alice said.

"Algebra."

They were in the same hallway at least, Alice thought. Alice couldn't wait to get to know her new sister, she already loved Bella. Bella didn't know how she felt about Alice. Jacob said she could see the future. If that was the case then were they going to become best friends? How would Jacob react to that? Well, if Alice saw it then that means Jacob's not in Bella's future. That thought alone cut Bella to the core. While she didn't want to be with him any longer, she did love him dearly as a friend. She easily cleared her mind with exercises that Jacob had taught her.

Bella walked into Algebra, took her spot, and sat down.

She didn't know what the future held, but the longer she was with Jacob, it made her realize just how much she liked being single. She's been trying to break up with him, to no avail.

She listened as the teacher droned on and on about fractions and x equals y. It didn't interest Bella that much. The writing was where it was at for Bella.

After Algebra was History, Bella thought history was interesting. The thought of someone writing down everything happening as it's happening. And with as many wars that went on back then. Bella admired those people, they must have had hectic lives.

She walked into the room and took her seat. Bella Wondered what they would be doing today as she reached into her bag for the materials she would need for class today. When a familiar face sat beside her in Angela Weber's spot.

Bella looked at the figure beside her out of the corner of her eye. This person was male, blonde, and had caramel-colored eyes. Bella thought someone having caramel-colored eyes was a little different, but not for an animal-drinking vampire.

In the middle of the class, she received a note from him.

Bella,

Please come over to our house after school today. We have something we'd like to talk to you about.

Jasper

Bella looked at the note, then looked at it again for added clarity. Bella was supposed to go over to Jacob's house after school, he won't like this. But I did want to know what they wanted to talk to me about.

After History the rest of the school day went by in a blur, and before she knew it, it was time to go to the Cullens.
