The Next morning
Mar'I was not used to sleeping on the bed she tossed and turned all night, it was unfamiliar to her so she got up early in the morning and decided to explore the Titans Tower
She explored the rooftop where she saw the lake and the roads leading to tower, she found the computer room( A.k.a the command Centre), an the garage where all the vehicles are parked
While she was outside at the Court examining the training Center's weapons, someone threw a throwing star that missed her right eye by inches.
Mar'i turned around and saw Damian, she glared at him and shouted"what was that for!"
He only smirked and said "Heh let's see what you got new girl.."
"and no using your powers" Damian said reaching for the bostaff at the end of the court
Mar'i did the same at the opposite end of the court
The sparring session between Mar'i and Damian lasted much longer to Damian Suprise.
" you are good who taught you how to fight like that" Damian asked panting trying to block and attack
" my aunt" Mar'i responded her face darkened
" how about you"
Knowing what kory had said about her sister and what she did Damian can only imagine
" my mother and grandfather they were assassins, people who kill others for political or religious reasons" Damian explained
" I see, so you are no different than me" Mar'I reasoned
The spar ended with both of them wearing each other out
Beunknownist to both of them Dick Grayson was watching their conversation in the shadowed Conner of the Titans training Center
"AGAIN" they both said in Unison
So they sparred again
It ended close to Breakfast time by then Gar, Tim and Wally walked in and shouted " hey Damian it's breakfast kon el and Cassie ordered-" but stopped in theirs tracks for a moment
As Damian was pinned with his hands and feet by Mar'i who was on top
Gar who was on his phone saw this at the entrance took a snap shot of the scene before morphing into a cheetah and running away.
Wally zoomed away saying "sorry for interrupting"
Tim likewise said the same thing but assured them that he would leave some breakfast for them before scurrying away.
"GET OFF" Damian yelled
Just great.. now the team will be bugging him constantly about this.. Damian thought to himself.
"So same time tomorrow" Mar'i asked
" we will see.. Now let's head down for some breakfast" Damian replied
Mar'i followed Damian to dining room area where the Titans were having breakfast and much to the annoyance of Damian. Gar had taken the awkward position Damian and Mar'i was in earlier and posted it on his Twitter page.
Nightwing had dropped by and was at the table
"I have called a Favor from Batman to have him open up a bank account under the name or alias of ' Mary Anders'. Just like for 'Koriand'r her alias is Kory Anders I Had transferred some of Kory's money to your bank account here's your card"
Dick explained handing to her credit cards, Passport, IC and Driver's License
" I'll show you how to use them" Dick said once dick help Mar'i set up the necessary PIN number for her cards he asked Cassie and Rachel to help Mar'i get her necessary garments and clothes.
"Driving License?Why would I need to learn how to Drive when I could Fly?" Mar'i questioned waving the card at Dick
"Well…as much as you love to Fly.. you will stick up like a sore thumb if people see you flying, only in emergencies or when in Battle " Dick explained
"Hmpff.." Mar'i pouted
"You are not the only one That feels that way Supergirl, Superman and even the Flash Once Felt that way too" (for the Barry's case was his Speed but the same Concept still applies)
Gar and Wally tagged along to check out the new Pizza place nearby, Victor went to visit his father to get a tune up, Tim went on a date with Stephanie brown, Kon el went to spend time with Clark and lastly Damian went to back to the see Batman hoping he would spend some quality time with him.
After showing Mar'i the places in San Francisco that both Rachel and Cassie shop, Dick's hands became loaded with bags full of garments, tops and bottom and off course shoes. Dick didn't know whose clothes were whose but all he did know that the girls were having fun even if it came at the cost of his arms
Afternoon
When they came back it was late in the afternoon Dick was tired despite being trained at an early age by Batman his arms couldn't take it any longer.. so he dump the bags on the couch and got on his car headed home.
Mar'i's POV
Wow this thing called shopping is fun and tiring, I grabbed the black and purple garments that I bought in a bag and I grabbed the bags filled with clothes, shorts and pants that I picked with Cassie and some Soap and towels that I picked with Rachel. I also bought some sneakers the rest were Rachel's and Cassie's Clothing I am very grateful to them. Now that I have these new bags of clothing I can return Damian,Cassie and Rachel the clothing I have borrowed.
All the girls were tired despite having showered and changed so they decided to skip dinner and went straight to bed.
The next day
Mar'I woke up very early again having gone to bed very early the night before she went to training center to see if Damian was there but no, when she turned she saw him sitting on the rooftop of Titans Tower so she flew up there.
" I thought you wanted to spar"
" I said we will see"
" what's with your attitude"
" not your problem"
"Did something happen to you yesterday " Mar'i said eyebrows raised
"Again not your problem!" Damian barked
" I'm right.. aren't I " Mar'I said as she sat down next to him
Damian sighed in defeat " it's my father, he doesn't appreciate the skills or talent that I have and that my Way is always the wrong way "
" what is your way.." Mar'i asked curiously
" my way is that whoever is the bad guy deserves to die, at least that what I was taught by mother and grandfather who is the leader of the assassin group. for father he goes by the law and his Moral Code and doesn't kill despite all odds." Damian explained
" you know I was trained at a young age to kill too" Mar'i replied
" but what about Kory! Starfire I mean..I have met your mother a few times long enough to know that Starfire doesn't kill! " Damian said
"Did you forget, I was raised by my Aunt" Mar'i responded depanded
" it all started because my aunt was desperate to restore her body's ability to fly but that resulted in a number of experiments made on her body by tameran scientists and the Psyions Scientist Combined at the cost of these experiments the damage made her body infertile, it was at that time my mother returned to Tameran to take the throne but because of her pregnancy it made her weak during the battle and she was taken prisoner. My aunt found out I was growing inside of her and decided to take me away from her as soon as I am born" Mar'i said recalling her memories
" everytime I was ordered to kill my own people Torture my own mother who I believe was the enemy, members of the rebellion my aunt who I thought was my mother" Mar'i mumbled
" so what happened if you didn't or hesitated?" Damian asked curiously eyeing the girl
" I would be strapped to this machine that the Psion used on aunt and mother that emits ultra violet lights to amplify the tameran blood and see how much ultraviolet my body can take" Mar'I said reminiscing
" how did you know that your aunt wasn't your mother" Damian asked
" it was my uncle Ryand'r ,he was the leader of rebellion forces, he freed my mother and explained to me who my aunt really is and who I really am" Mar'i answered
" why didn't Kory come with you?" Damian asked
" my mother felt indebted and grateful to my Uncle Ryand'r, helping him win the war and support his claim to Throne of Tameran and to get me out of my Aunt Komand'r 's reach" Mar'i replied.
" your childhood is as harsh as mine well enough of this harsh bedtime story let's get down for some breakfast and then we will spar" Damian said patting her on the shoulder
Unknown to the both of them Nightwing was standing at entrance of the shadows eavesdropping on their conversation. He clenched his fists in and hid his face in the shadows as anger swell up in him as he felt useless that he couldn't protect the woman he loved and their child, when he saw that they were getting up he walked away.
