chapter 5 Barbecue Story: Extended Ending.

Summary: We know that Angelica got away Scot-free for throwing Tommy's over the fence out of spite, the grown-ups none the wiser. When Spike hears Tommy is in trouble, what if karma manages to catch Angelica off guard the moment Spike runs off to the rescue?

Just as the bulldog is drawing closer, despite still being chained to its kennel, Tommy begins to scream. Back at the Pickles' backyard, none of the adults can hear him. No one but Spike, who was on the verge of getting an unattended burger. Abandoning the burgers, Spike dashes off and leaps onto the picnic table, knocking over several contents set up for the barbecue. Unknown to the dog, he accidentally knocked over a huge bowl of fruit punch, spilling over the contents all over Angelica, who just so happens to be next to the table at the worst timing. Angelica squeals in alarm as the punch splashed all over her, drenching her from head to toe in pinkish-red, fruity droplets. She stares down at herself in shock and disgust before she runs off in tears.)

Angelica cried WAAAAH!

(Back with Spike, he skids to the edge of the table and spots Tommy at the other side of the fence, still screaming as the bulldog menacingly advances on him. Angered and worried that his young master and best friend is in danger, Spike leaps into action. As he scrambles over the fence, he gets his head caught in the large tiki head decorations thst were set up for the occasion. Spike dashes through the next yard and heroically leaps over the chain fence, putting himself between Tommy and the mean dog. As Spike growls at it in warning, the bulldog looked both stunned and nervous as it was unnerved more by the tiki head covering him. Spike barks at the bulldog, promptly scaring it. Terrified by the tiki-headed Spike, the bulldog frantically retreats back to its doghouse, whining in fright and the moment it back inside, it's doghouse comically tips backwards and falls upside down onto its roof, dog and all.)

Tommy said Spike!

(Tommy, with ball in hand, and Chuckie mount Spike and ride him back to the safety of the Pickles' backyard. As the relieved grown-ups rejoiced that the babies are all safe and sound thanks to Spike, Drew noticed a pouting Angelica still drenched in fruit punch.)

Drew said Angelica? Honey, what happened? Why are you all wet? (He sniffs) Are you covered in fruit punch?

Angelica said It wasn't my fault! It was all…

Drew sighing said Come on, let's get inside you and find you some clean clothes that Uncle Stu and Aunt Didi can lend for the time being. And I think we'd better get you a bath while we're at it.

(Angelica gasps in horror. She frantically begs not to take a bath, putting up a fuss while Drew struggles to get her to calm down as he carries her off inside.)

(Betty pointing Hey, what's that?

(Everyone, sans Drew and Angelica, turns to see the unattended burgers starting to burn to a crisp.

Stu said horrified) My burgers!

(The scene changes to nighttime as everyone is gathered on a hill behind the Pickles' backyard, watching fireworks nearby. Angelica is seen dressed in an overgrown T-shirt belonging to Stu, sulking, unable to enjoy the evening dressed how she is now due to the fruit punch incident. We now see Spike and babies watching the fireworks. Stu approaches, holding plate filled with the burnt burgers as a reward for the dog's heroism earlier.)

Stu said setting the plate down as Spike eats up one of the burgers) Here you, boy. Burnt to a crisp, just like how you like 'em.

(While Spike eats, Tommy notices the beetle on the dog. This time, Tommy plucks the beetle off of Spike and puts it on the ground instead of attempting to eat it. Tommy then gives his furry hero a hug as he watches the fireworks with his family and friends (and his ball.)
