Chapter 7 Baby, Have a Heart

Summary: A slightly altered ending of Angelica's flashback in "Angelica's In Love". Rather than grabbing the babies and giving them boogies to vent out her broken heart on them when they tried to comfort her over her sudden break-up with Dean, Angelica doesn't have the heart to bully them.

(cut to Dean and Angelica having a tea party with Cynthia)

Angelica said More milk? (pours some milk into Dean's cup)

Dean said Thanks.

Angelica said And how about you, Cynthia?

Dean said Angie...

Angelica said Yes, Dean-o?

Dean said Do you think we could be alone for a second?

Angelica said But, Dean-o, we are alone.

Dean said No, I mean... (points to Cynthia)

Angelica said Oh... (tosses Cynthia) Yes, Dean-o?

Dean said Well, I just wanted to tell you...

Angelica said What, Dean-o?

Dean said Well, you make me feel... funny.

Angelica said What do you mean? I don't have cooties.

Dean said No. Not like that. Like... like I could do something... crazy.

Angelica said Crazy?

Dean said Like... ride a bike without training wheels, or eat a couple of snails, or...

Angelica said Yes?

Dean said Or... (gazes at Angelica)

As Dean and Angelica were gazing at one another, the babies were standing nearby, watching and having no idea what was going on.

Lil said What are they doing?

Tommy said I don't know. It looks like they're gonna eat each other's faces, or something.

(The babies watch as Dean takes off his sunglasses prepares to kiss Angelica. Suddenly, a woman's face shatters the romantic moment.)

Dean's Mom off-screen Dean! Where are you?

(Dean getting up and putting his sunglasses

Dean said See you later, Angelica.

Angelica said What so you mean?

Dean said It's time I was moving on.

Angelica said Is it another woman?

Dean said Yeah… my mom. He rides off on his trike, leaving to meet up with his mom. Heartbroken, Angelica looks on as she starts to tear up. The babies approaches her in sympathy, trying to comfort her.)

Lil said We're sorry, Angelica.

Phil said Yeah, we can tell that you really liked Dean a lot.

Angelica said (enraged) Liked a lot?!

(The babies stumbled back in alarm as Angelica angrily advances on them as she looked like she was tempted to pound them.)

Angelica said I'll show you what I like a lot!

(She looked like she was going to grab and pick up the babies to give hit them over the head, but she suddenly felt that she didn't have the energy, much less an excuse to take her broken heart out on her cousin and his friends. The babies lowered their guard down in confusion as Angelica's anger deflated all of a sudden as she turns around and walks away in a huff.)

Angelica said Ya know… forget it. I don't feel like it today. You dumb babies just don't get anything at all…

(Tommy, Chuckie and twins exchanged meaningful looks before they watched Angelica walking away in concern and sympathy. Angelica continues to walk away as she shed a few tears, crestfallen.

The flashback ends as Drew's car is still going down the driveway, but it's no longer raining)

Angelica narrating) Losing Dean was the hardest thing that had ever happened to me. I felt like a toy without batteries. But love's like that sometimes. As Bob as my witness, I'll never fall in love again.

(Drew and Angelica return home and got out of the car.)

Drew said Hey, there's our new neighbors.

Jacqueline said 'Ello. You must be Drew Pickles. I am Jacqueline Tormund.

Drew said Oh, hi, Jackie. Pleasure to meet you. Uh, this is my daughter, Angelica.

(Drew then notices a young boy approaching him, his daughter and Jacqueline.)

Drew said Oh, who's this?

Jacqueline said Oh, allow me to introduce my son, Jean-Claude.

Jean-Claude said 'Ello, Monsieur Pickles. 'Ello, Angelique-a. I am, how you say, pleased to meet you.

(The young boy politely bows down as he takes Angelica's hand and kisses it.

Jean-Claude said I think I'm going to like it here in America.

(Angelica smiles at Jean-Claude and romance blossoms once again…)
