"Yawara-san, you haven't eaten yet!"

Kirai's annoyed voice rang out from across the house, where she was once again inspecting Yawara's fridge. It had been 3 days since Yawara was first confirmed to be Cure Healing, and since then Dai and Kirai had discovered that she had some... bad habits, to say the least.

For one, she very often forgot to eat. It seemed she spent so much time at the computer that she would sometimes go up to 48 hours completely forgetting to eat a meal. For another's she was incredibly bad at self hygiene. Taking a bath, taking her meds, and brushing her hair were all things she regularly either forgot to do or simply didn't feel she had the energy for. As such, Dai and Kirai had been doing their best to keep her on track with at least a couple of these things.

"Yawaraaaa!" Kirai was getting impatient.

Yawara blinked, finally paying attention, and looked over from her desk. "A-ah... I'm sorry, I got distracted." It made her feel rather embarrassed to have all her forgetfulness known like this, but in truth it was nice to have the assistance at times.

Kirai let out a long sigh, and came fluttering in carrying an apple. "At least eat this okay? It's good for you."

Yawara smiled - Kirai, despite her loudness, was rather endearing in her insistence on taking care of Yawara. Thus, she accepted the apple and took a bite out of it, sitting back in her chair and looking out the window. Dai, who had been curiously observing her online activity, now spoke up.

"Are you gonna go outside again soon? It's been a few days..."

Yawara frowned - less at Dai and much more at herself. It had been a big step for her to go outside and to defeat the daiboru like that, as well as a big change. However, ever since then she'd been scared to take any further advancements. She almost felt... held back. Like she couldn't do it, even though she'd proven to herself she obviously could. Through her thoughts, she attempted to explain.

"I-I'm really sorry... I've just been scared, I think. I -"

However, her train of thought was interrupted by a sound that rarely ever occurred in this house - the doorbell, followed by a knock at the door. Dai and Kirai appeared surprised, and turned to look at Yawara.

"Hey, who's that?" asked Kirai.

"I don't know." muttered Yawara, looking confused. "I wonder if..."

There then came another knock, this time followed by a clear, cheerful voice from behind the door.

"Ya-chan! Are you there? I have the book you asked for!"

Immediately Yawara's whole demeanor changed. She sat up straight, her eyes brightened, and happy smile came across her features.

"It's Ama-chan!"

With that, she got up from her seat and hurried to the door. Dai and Kirai stared at each other in confusion, before getting up to follow her as she exited the room.

Yawara hurried to unlock the door and open it. Behind it stood a smiling girl dressed in pink and black, with dark skin and her hair worn up in box braids.

"Hey! You didn't answer my text, so I thought I'd just bring it over now!"

She then held out a book she'd been keeping under her arm. Yawara recognized it as a piece of fiction by a trans author the other had said she'd like. She nodded in excitement.

"Ah, thank you! You can come in if you want, I have -"

However, before she could continue, Dai and Kirai appeared on her shoulders, and immediately began to ask questions.

"Who's this?" demanded Kirai, "You didn't tell us you had any friends!"

"She's pretty..." muttered Dai.

Yawara felt rather sheepish as she watched her friend's reaction change from happy, to confused, to surprised, and then to excited all at once.

"Whoa, what's that?!" She exclaimed, "Are they pets? How can they talk like that? That's so cool!"

Yawara fiddled with her hair in embarrassment. "Ah, uh... Dai, Kirai, this is Amai. She's my best friend! Amai, this is uh..." she trailed off and hung her head with a sigh. "It's a long story."

Amai now sat across from Yawara at the kitchen table, listening to her describe everything that had happened over the past few days. Dai and Kirai simply sat nearby eating crackers, watching them interact. In truth, Amai had never been happier to hear anything in her life - it was wonderful to her that Yawara, after spending so many years inside, had gone out and done something this big.

"This is amazing, Yawara!" She smiled happily as Yawara finished her story. "Not just that you're a pretty cure now, but you did it all by yourself! You went outside and did something big and you finished it yourself! That's a big deal, Ya-chan!"

Yawara was overcome with a smile, and felt heat rise to her face. It made her incredibly happy to hear Amai's praise, and she felt her heart skip a beat slightly. Amai then developed a curious expression.

"So, what are you doing now?"

Yawara's expression faltered, as embarrassment filled her again. She struggled to find her next words.

"Uh, well... nothing, really."

"Huh? Why not?"

Now a strange sadness caught itself in her chest. A frown overcame her features, and she began to wring her hands nervously.

"...I... I'm scared."

Amai's expression softened. She knew that look - her friend had something she needed to say, and didn't know how. She put a soft smile on her face.

"It's okay. You can tell me."

Yawara took a deep, shaky breath before finally starting to speak. Dai and Kirai watched quietly, mouths full of crackers as they listened.

"I'm just... worried. I feel like maybe - maybe it was a fluke. Like I'm not actually cut out to do this. I'm... not really anything special. I'm not strong, I don't leave the house, I can barely take care of myself. I'm just... me. I don't think I deserve to be a pretty cure."

Amai couldn't help but smile sadly. Yawara had always been like this - underestimating her own ability, her own worth, while lifting up everyone else. She reached out and gently put a hand on top of Yawara's.

"First of all - it wasn't a fluke. You became a pretty cure for a reason, and that case you have is proof. Second - don't tell me you're not strong, okay? That's not true. You're one of the strongest people I know! You've been through so much and still came out such a kind, loving person. That takes strength! You deserve every single opportunity that comes to you, and we'll be with you every single time." She turned to Dai and Kirai. "Won't we?"

The two of them nodded vigorously. "Of course we will!"

Yawara smiled through the tears filling her eyes. After all these years, Amai still cared about her more than anyone. She lifted her free hand to scrub her eyes before responding.

"I... Thank you, Ama-chan. And thank you, Dai and Kirai."

After giving Yawara a moment to settle, Amai spoke up, an idea coming to her. "Well, if you need help getting the courage to go out again... do you want to go shopping?"

Yawara looked surprised. "Shopping, really?"

"Of course!" Amai nodded happily. "You don't have to, of course, but... I have lots of places I'd love to show you! And maybe it would help you get a little more confident, you know?"

After a moment of hesitation, Yawara smiled. If she was going to keep going out, there was no one she'd rather do it with, so she nodded happily.

"Of course! I'd love to!"

Together, Amai and Yawara sat outside one of Amai's favorite ice cream shops. They had been to a few different shops that Amai enjoyed, and even bought a few things. Yawara was definitely happier than before; she loved spending time with Amai and being able to do it outside of her home was something new and exciting. Dai and Kirai currently sat under the table they were at munching on dessert, making sure to stay out of the eye of the general public. After a moment, Dai, who had been watching the two of them, nudged Kirai and spoke in a low voice.

"It's kind of like they're on a date, isn't it?"

"Eh?" Kirai looked at her brother in confusion - she supposed she hadn't really been paying attention. However, after a moment of observation she could definitely see what he meant. The way they talked to each other like no one else was in the room. The way they hung on each other's every word. The way the stared at each other when one was talking, and laughed so freely.

"...Yeah, you're right." A mischievous expression then came over Kirai's face. "Should we do something? What about it?"

Dai shook his head vigorously, looking anxious at that. "N-No! Don't... it's not our business." He turned to look up again. "... They'll figure it out on their own, I think."

Kirai pouted at this, but eventually she had to agree. As such, they continued to eat.

At the moment, the two girls were preparing to leave, having just paid. Amai was addressing Yawara in the meantime.

"You had fun, right? I know it's been a while, so if you didn't like it that's okay, we don't have to do it again."

Yawara shook her head immediately. "No, I had lots of fun! It was really nice spending time with you, so - I'd love to do it again!"

Yawara held her backpack down below the table, allowing Dai and Kirai to climb in. Afterwards, the group began to make their way home.

As they meandered down the sidewalk, Amai described developments in her workplace. "I might be getting a really big shoot done soon! My manager talked to the photographer and he said he really liked my portfolio. I might actually be able to keep moving up!"

Yawara smiled as she listened, enjoying the walk - however, all of a sudden, she stopped in her tracks. A sudden sense of dread had filled her chest, as if something was terribly wrong. Amai noticed she'd stopped and turned around, confused.

"Ya-chan, what's wrong?"

Before she could answer, Kirai wiggled out of Yawara's backpack and pointed ahead.

"Look!"

Straight ahead there was a series of benches, and surrounding them was a group of people. All of them appeared sick and depressed - slumped over on the benches or on the ground, eyes half closed, mumbling to themselves. And surrounding them, sure enough, were small black spirits draining energy from them.

Amai looked confused and scared. "Hey, what's going on? What are those things?"

Yawara took up a serious expression and clenched her fists. "They're the diaboru. The spirits that took over Healin' Hospital, and now they're trying to hurt people on earth, too."

Dai and Kirai both floated around Yawara's shoulders, and Dai spoke out. "Yawara, let's go.

Yawara nodded, and strangely enough, she felt herself smile. She was a pretty cure now, and this was her job - she knew how to help these people. Digging into her pants pockets, she pulled out her heart case and held it above her head.

"Pretty Cure hospital charge! Love love let's go!"

In a spin of light and color her transformation sequence took place, and she was ready to go.

"Loving, soft, and kind - the pretty cure of change, Cure Healing!"

The daiboru took notice of the cure presence and began chattering angrily, pooling together to form one large daiboru just like before. It advanced towards her with booming steps, making irritated chattering noises.

Amai stumbled back, looking fearful, but Cure Healing knew what to do. Taking a step back, she ran forward, lept high in the air, and landed a kick right in the middle of the daiboru's face.

Smack.

The daiboru was dazed, and began coughing angrily. However, before it could respond, she pulled the same move from behind, causing it to fall over stunned.

Immediately, Healing pulled out her heart case again and held it front of her.

"Healing arrow, injection of love!"

As expected, her case immediately glowed and turned into her bow and syringe arrow. Taking a step back, she pulled, aimed, and let loose - sure enough, the arrow hit right in the back of the fallen daiboru, causing it to dissipate into mist.

A smile came over Cure Healing's face. She'd done it! She'd helped! The people affected slowly began to wake up, and she went over to make sure all of them were okay. Soon, she heard footsteps from behind her, and Amai tackled her from behind with a hug.

"Yawara, that was amazing! That was so cool! You did it!"

Laughing, Yawara turned around and hugged her back, as Dai and Kirai came floating over smiling. As the two broke away, a curious expression came over Yawara's face.

"Wouldn't it be nice if you could be a cure too?"

She thought the idea seemed like a wonderful one - however, to her surprise, a strange expression came over Amai's face. Pained, almost upset.

"Oh, no I couldn't - I don't think - I don't think I could. I'm sorry."

Yawara felt confused, but just as soon as the expression appeared, it vanished, and Amai was smiling again.

"Let's go home, okay? I have macarons at my place!"

Yawara decided to push it out of her mind. Nodding, and making sure one last time that everyone was safe, she and Amai made their way home.
