- Arthur's P.O.V -
At the layer, the turtles arrive back at their home. They quickly exit the truck, Raphael carrying Evelyn in his arms. While Leo still has Raimundo in his arms, Mikey running right behind them. They enter the layer as a worried Leo calls for his brother Donnie.
"Donnie we need your help!" Leo calls out.
This catches not only his brother's attention but also the attention of Gregory and their Sensei. Donnie looks and sees his brothers returning with Raimundo and a now unconscious Evelyn.
"Sis!?!!" Gregory calls out, worried to see his sister in this weakened state.
"What happened?" Donnie asks.
"Her wounds opened again. And she's losing blood." Raphael explained.
Their Sensei stands beside Donnie as he examined the young woman. Leo sets Raimundo down. As soon as his little feet touches the ground. He rushes towards his older brother and clings to his side. Both little brother watch intensely as they wait for the fate of their older sister.
"Thankfilly she hasn't lost too much blood. So she's going to be okay." Donnie explains. This causes everyone to relax and let out a relieved sigh. Both little brothers are so greatful that their older sister is alright. "But we will need to stitch her wounds again. And let her rest." He explains.
"Bring her to my room. I will treat her wounds." Master Splinter said. He jesters Raphael to follow him. Gregory and Raimundo attempt to follow Raphael but Leo gently holds their shoulders.
"Hold on you two." He says softly. Them he kneels down to be at eye level to Gregory's and be slightly close to Raimundo's hight. "I know you guys are worried. But you can trust our father. He will make sure that Evee is alright." He send encouragingly as a tender smile spreads across his face. The two brothers look at each other before they turn and nod at Leo.
"Why don't you guys come and sit on the couch. Ill see if I can find a blanket for you both to share." Mikey suggests. The two little boys follow Mikey to the couch that sits in front of an array of many televisions. They both sit on the couch, Raimundo snuggles into his older brother while they sit. Mikey returns with a big blanket and he and Leo wrap the young boys in the blanket. They snuggle into the fabric as they as well as Leo wait anxiously for the result of Evelyn's condition.
- In Splinter's Room -
Master Splinter leads Raphael into his room. Donatello enters the room with fresh medical supplies. As Raphael places Evelyn down, the injured girl begins to awaken. Her weak eyes open and she sees three familiar faces.
"Where am I?" She asks weakly.
"You are safe dear child. There is nothing to fear now." Splinter says softly and he tenderly strokes her hair.
"Gregory and Raimundo, where are..." Evelyn says as she tries to get up but Raphael gently stops her.
"Dont worry, the kiddos are outside the room." Raphael says as he holds her shoulder. "They are worried sick about you." He says with a small smirk as he gently lays her back down on the mat.
"Which is your queue to relax and get better." Donnie says as he kneels beside her and his father. He then hands their father the supplies.
"Thank you my sons. Now please return to the others. I will be out once I've tended to her wounds." Their master ordered. They both bow to their Sensei before the turn to look at their wounded friend.
"Take it easy Evelyn." Raphael says with a small wave.
"I'll leave her to your care Sensei." Donnie says with a tender smile before he closes the door to their fathers room.
Once the boys have left the room, Master Splinter turns to look at the weak young woman who is laying on his bed. He can feel his own heart ack at the sight of her weakened form. But he smiles tenderly at her and gently moves a loss strand of hair from her delicate face.
"Thank you...um I'm sorry I don't know what your name is." Evelyn says weakly.
"Shh..there is no need to thank me dear child. For now you must rest." He says is a soft voice. Like a voice talking to a small child. Master Splinter places his furry paw on Evelyn's cheeky before he slides it down the side before he stops at a pressure point. This causes Evelyn to fall into a deep sleep. Once the young girl is fast asleep he begins his work.
- Time Skip -
Splinter exits his room and he's meet with six worried faces. All of his sons, including the younger brothers of Evelyn stair with baited breath as the wait for the results.
"How is she, Sensei?" Leo asks, breaking the silence.
"She is alright. I've tended to her wounds and now she is resting." Splinter explains and everyone is relieved.
"Can we see her?" Raimundo asks bashfully.
"Yes Raimundo. You and Gregory can go and see her. Just stay quite. She still needs to rest." Splinter says gently as he pets the young boys face. Both boys walk into the room and see their sister resting peaceful. The sit down beside her as are so glad to see that she's okay. Once the boys enter his room, Splinter looks at his sons.
"Donatello, please call Miss O'Neal. We will need her assistance for treating Evelyn's wounds." He says as he looks at his purple masked son.
"Will do Sensei." Donnie says.
"Now we all should get some rest. It has been a stressful day." Splinter suggests.
"What about Gregory and Raimundo. Where will they sleep?" Leo asks.
"They can sleep with me." Mikey offers.
"Excellent idea my son. I think it will give the boys comfort." Splinter says.
"What about you Sensei?" Raphael asks.
"I will be fine sleeping on the couch." Splinter says with a smile. "Besides there is a 3 hour long marathon of my stories. And I don't have to worry about missing anything." He says with a chuckle before be walks toward couch.
"Well I'm hitting the sack. Night guys." Raphael says before he walks towards his room.
"I'll see you bros in the morning. I've got to make some room for my new roommates." Mikey says happily as he walks towards his room.
"Night guys." Donnie says as he turns to leave as well.
"Good night everyone." Leo says to his brothers. Then he walks towards their fathers room. He peeks through and see the young boys laying beside their injured sister. He can't help but smile at them. But he quietly walks towards them. He gently shakes Gregory to awaken. "Hey Greg, you and your brother can sleep in Mikey's room. I'll carry you guys there." He explains.
"Okay." Gregory says tiredly. Then he is waits as Leo scoops Raimundo into his arms. Then Leo opens his other arm and Gregory climbs into his arms. Then Leo carries them to Mikey's room. Mikey cleared some space and helped Leo place both brothers into the bottom hamic bed. Once Leo sees that both his and Evelyn's little brothers are sleeping safely, he leave to his room. But he stops and decides to take one last look at Evelyn.
He enters his father's room and sees his sleeping friend. After all the madness that happened this night, he finally had the chance to really look at her. And he still can't believe the events that happened. His friend that he's come to think of as a brother is also the girl that he may have a crush on.
"You really are one complicated girl, Evee." He says softly as he watches her peaceful face. He notices a lose strand of hair has fallen over her eyes. "But I'm glad that you are are safe now. And you and your brothers are now free." He says tenderly had he gently moves the hair back into place. But stops when Eveyln suddenly groans. Then once she returns to sleep, Leo moves again. "Sleep well, and see you in the morning. I'm sure you will have a lot to explain." He says softly before he leaves the room so that way his friend can sleep and so can he.
- The Next Day -
The next morning the turtles are eating breakfast with their new house guest. Mikey finished making the food and is not serving everyone. while his brothers, Gregory, and Raimundo are sitting at the table. Splinter makes a plate for Evelyn. After pouring a cup of tea, he puts the food on a tray and carries it towards the his room. He opens the door to his room just in time to find Evelyn waking up.
"Ah, you are awake." Splinter says with a smile.
"Yes, but my body feels sore." Evelyn says as she slowly sits up. Splinter places the tray of food down and helps Eveyln sit up.
"As expected, your battle against the dragons was most strenuous on your body." Splinter says. "While your body was badly wounded and needed to recover. Your spirit was pushing you to keep moving. And the desire to save your brothers was also the driving force for you to keep on fighting." He continues as he hands Evelyn the food and tea. "But now you are safe. So now your body and soul can now rest and recover. So be at peace dear child. You are among friends." He says tenderly as he smiles at her.
"Thank you, um...sorry but I don't know who you are." she says bashfully. "This may sound crazy but I feel like I know you somehow. " she says bashfully. "You're eyes they seem familiar some how." She says kindly as she looks into the eyes of the rat master.
"It might not be so crazy my dear." Splinter say with a chuckle. Hearing this catches her attention and she gazes at him curiously.
"What do you mean?" She asks puzzled by his words.
"All will be revealed soon but your now you must recover. And it starts with a healthy breakfast." He says softly as he encourages her to eat.
"You're right." She says with a chuckle before she starts eating.However just before she takes the first bite Leo enters the room.
"Sensei I have your breakfast and...Evelyn, you're awake." He says but is surprised to see Evelyn awake.
"Good morning Leo." She says softly as she waves at him.
"Glad to see you're okay." Leo says as he enters the room.
"Yeah, a little sore but other than that I'm okay." She says bashfully.
"Since you're awake. I'm sure that the others will want to see you." Splinter says.
"Yeah. Your brothers are worried." Leo says.
"Oh yeah, I should go see them and make sure they are alright." Evelyn says.
"Then let us join the others in the kitchen." Splinter suggests. "Leonardo please carry Evee to the kitchen. I will bring her food and join you all there." Splinter orders his son.
Leo nods his head before he leans down and scoops her up in his arms. Evelyn gently wraps her arms around his neck. Holding onto his shell. Then slowly and carefully he lifts her up into her arms. Then he leave. As Leo and Evelyn leave the room with Splinter right behind him, she can't help but wonder how the rat knew of Evelyn's nickname. Leo nor any of his brothers or her brothers have called her by that name. So she can't help but wonder how he knew of her nickname.
"Hey, look who's awake." Leo says as they enter the kitchen. Everyone turns to look and see Leo with Evelyn in his arms.
"Evelyn." Everyone says happy to see Evelyn awake. Gregory and Raimundo are the most happy to see their sister awake.
"Sis." Raimundo says happily as he and Gregory practically jumped out of their seats and run towards their sister where Leo places her down in an empty seat.
"Hey guys, I'm okay just...ouch still a little sore." She says as she bashfully lets out a painful cry. As her brothers hug her slightly. But she tries to hold it in.
"Sorry." They say at the same time.
"Its okay." She says with a smile as she rubs their heads.
"Well I hope you didn't lose your appetite." Mikey says as she places her food in front of her.
"Thank you Mikey, it smells good." She says. Then she takes a bite of the food. "Mmm..this is good. I'm starting to feel better already." She says as she smiles at the orange masked turtle.
"Always a pleaser." Mikey says with a bright smile.
"So Evelyn, would you mind telling us all why your were so involved with the Purple Dragons. And how you ended up the way you did." Donnie asks.
Evelyn takes a deep breath before she tells the whole story. And this time including the fact that her father the martial arts master and that he had trained herself and her brothers. But then after he disappeared, Evelyn continues their training.
"So how did the dragons recruit you to join them?" Gregory asks.
"Well unknown to a lot of people, there is an underground fight ring. People would gamble against fighters. And for awhile I did that. I would bet on my own fights and win. Then one night Hun saw my skills and made me a deal. And thus...thats how I joined." She explains.
"But sis, why would you do this?" Raimundo asks.
"I did it for us. We needed the money and since dad still hasn't returned. Its up to me to take care of us. And I was willing to do anything to keep us all safe. Even if it means I sell my own soul to the devil himself." She explains. "And I had hope that you both would never learn of my horrible secret." She says as she pulls back her sleeve to reveal her dragon tattoo. Everyone looks at it and are impressed by the design of the dragon.
"Well now I know why you never took off your jacket." Gregory says.
"Yeah, I wanted to hide the shame. And disgrace. The dragon has always been a symbol of courage, strength, and a noble heart. But those punks have taken that sacred animal and tarnish it." She says as she looks at her hand. "And when I got their mark on my body, I to felt that I have also become tainted and I would have. If it wasn't for Leo." She says as she looks from her hand and then to Leonardo.
"Its thanks to you and your brothers that I'm now finally free. And that my brothers are also safe." She says with a tender smile as she looks at all of the turtle brothers. "So thank you all." She says.
"Yeah thank you guys for saving my family." Gregory also says greatfully. Then Raimundo runs up to each turtle and hugs them one by one. Also saying thank you.
"It was nothing." Leo says bashfully as he and his brothers accept the three siblings gratitude.
"Its what we do." Mikey says proudly.
"Now I do have a question. How did you all come to be?" Evelyn asks as she looks from the four turtles brothers and then to the rat.
"Yes it is time that we all give a proper introduction." Splinter says as he stands up from finishing his meal. "Come let is retire to the living room." He says as he leads the group.
As Evelyn tries to stand, she feels a sharp pain run through her body. She stumbles and is about to fall. But Leo catches her.
"Here let me help you." Leo offers.
"Thanks Leo." Evelyn says with a smile before she let's Leo lift her back into his arms. Although the turtle is cold blood, some how his embrace feels warm to the injured girl and she can't help but feel at peace while being held by the blue masked Turtle.
