The group arrives in the living room. Leo places Evelyn gently on the couch in front of the many televisions screens.
"Thanks Leo." She says as she smile at him.
"You're welcome, Evee." He says as he reruns the smile.
Then her brothers snuggle close to their sister. Being careful to hurt her. Raphael joins the group and in his hands is a small blanket.
"Here in case you need it." He says softly as he offers her the blanket. Evelyn is surprised at first but she happily accepts the jester.
"Thanks Raph." She says with a smile as she wraps the blanket around her shoulders.
Then one by one the turtle brothers sit around the siblings. Mikey sits in the arm chair. Donnie stands beside his master. While Raphael leans against the couch that the three siblings. And Leo stands behind the couch. Standing over the siblings. Finally Splinter stands front and center, ready to tell his story.
"I still can't believe you guys are real." Gregory says as he looks at their new friends.
"Yeah I've heard people tell stories about you guys. But I've always knew you guys were real." Raimundo says with a smile. His face lit up with joy and wonder, as if he has just met the eater bunny.
"So how did you all come to be?" Evelyn asks as she looks at the rat.
" I have memories memories of when I used to be what you call normal." Splinter says as he begins his story. " It was fifteen years ago I remember that day. It started like any other day, But ended changing the course of many lives." He says. " I witnessed an accident a young boy carried a glass jar,with 4 infant turtles inside." Splinter said.
"That was us." Mikey interrupted. This caused his brothers to shush him. Which also caused Evelyn and her brothers to laugh at the sibling antics.
Splinter clears his throat before he returns to telling his story. "A blind old man was crossing the street when he was almost run down by a large truck. Thankfully a young man was able to push the old man out of danger. However this caused the young boy to drop the glass containing the infant turtle." He says. "As the truck swerved a metal container bounced out of the truck. The young boy tried to reach for his pets but it was too late. They slip down the drain along with the strange container." He continues. "It smashed open revealing a glowing ooze which covered their bodies. Seeing them in this state. I took pity. Gathering them up in a coffee can, I took them to my burrow to tend to them." He explains. "I had woken the next day and found that the four had double in sides the ooze had affected their growth. The ooze also changed me also changed me make me larger more intelligent." He says.
"Wow" Eveyln and her brothers say together.
"They followed me everywhere, except above ground. I knew that the people of the service would not understand we were so different. I was amazed by their dexterity but even so I was not prepared for what happened one day. Once day, one of them spoke my name." He says.
"Aww thats so cute." Evelyn coos as she imagine the small turtle speaking in such a small but sweet little voice. It reminded her of how a child calls for their parent for the first time.
"Yes as I look back it was awfully cute." Splinter says with a chuckle. The laughter becomes contagious as everyone soon laughs along. But then Splinter continues his story. "Soon they were all talking and then intelligence followed after. Realizing that the world above is sometimes a dangerous place I began to teach and then chitsu a secret art of stealth and power and all that I knew of this world then from a battered book on Renaissance art said I fished From an old storm drain I chose name free to them." Splinter says as he looks at his sons. Telling them to introduce themselves.
"I'm Leonardo" Leo says as he walks around the couch and stands with his sensei.
"I'm Michelangelo, hehe." He says as he smiles and winks at the kids. This causes the three kids to smile.
"Donatello." He says as smiles at the kids.
"I'm Raphael." Raphael says with a cocky smug attitude while he twirls his weapon in his hand.
"Yeah all the good ones end in O's." Mikey calls out. Wanting to knock his older brother's ego down a few bars. This causes his other brothers to high five him. Mikey then turns to Raimundo and sticks his out his hand. Then Raimundo gives him a high five. This causes Evelyn and Gregory giggle. Soon the giggle turns becomes laughter as Mikey is bonked on the head by his brother Raphael.
"Together they are a team, they are brother. Together they are..." Splinter says before the four brothers come together.
"Turtles Forever!" All four brothers say all at once as they all high five.
"Our something like that, that we all call out at once." Mikey explains as he sits beside Raimundo.
"First rule around here. Ignore Mikey and your life will be a lot easier." Raphael says as he leans on the arm of the couch that the three siblings are resting on.
"Wow this is amazing." Gregory says completely blown away by their story.
"You guys are like super heros. But without any power." Raimundo says. "Unless, do you guys have powers?" He asks excited.
"I like this kid." Mikey said as he looks down at Raimundo. Then he ruffles his head.
"Of course you do." Donnie says teasingly.
"Great another Mikey." Raphael says annoyed.
"So basically what you guys are saying. Thats you all were, slimmed." Gregory says with a chuckle.
"It wasn't slim, it was ooze." Raphael says as he points to Gregory, but Greg just rolls his eyes.
"So then how did you know marital arts?" Evelyn asks as she looks from the turtle brothers and to the rat. "I mean, if I'm being honest. When I fought against you Leo. There was something familiar. And I mean really familiar." She says as she looks from Leo to the rat that she still doesn't know his name.
"That is a story that is intertwined with someone you three are familiar with." Splinter says as he approaches the group.
This catches the attention of all three siblings as they and the rest of the turtles look at Splinter. He approaches Evelyn and then hands her a photograph. She takes it and shows it to everyone. The picture show a group of six people. A husband and wife holding a toddler in their hands. While a man has his arms wrapped around two small children. One boy and one girl. And in the girls hands is a small rat.
"I remember this picture. This was after got that new sign for dad's dojo." Gregory said.
"Where did you get this?" Evelyn asks the rat as she and everyone turns to look at Splinter.
"This is one of the few items I have saved from our old home. It is a precious reminder of a family I once thought was lost but is now found." Splinter says as he looks from the photo and looks deep into Evelyn's eyes. This sparks something in Evelyn mind as she gets a closer look at the rat.
"Wait, can it be?" She asks curiously as she stands close to Splinter. She looks deep into his eyes as he does the same. "Are you..." she asks softly as she reached a finger out to him. As if on cue, Splinter gently takes her finger and opens her hand. Then he tenderly rubs his head in the palm of her hand. Seeing this, surprises her. This action was something that she shared with the pet rat that belonged to her uncle long ago. And that name was. "Splinter?" She says both shocked and happy to see her old friend.
"Yes it is dear, Evee." He says with a chuckle. "You have grown so much." He says softly as he nuzzles his face in to her palm again. "You always did have your father's eyes." He says as he gently cups her face. "But you have your mothers kind and gentle face." He says lovingly.
"You really are him. Splinter!" Evelyn says joyfully as she practically tackles the rat master into a hug. Then Gregory and Raimundo also join in the group hug.
"I can't believe you are the rat that Uncle Yoshi had as a pet." Gregory said still just as shocked as his sister.
"And now you can talk." Raimundo says happily.
"Yes a lot has changed." Splinter says as the group hug ends. "Gregory. You are the spitting image of your father. But you have your mothers brown eyes." He says as he looks at Gregory, gently combing his hair. Then he turns to Raimundo. "And you, little Ray. You were just starting to walk when I saw you last. Now look at you." He says as he gently holds Raimundo's small human hands in his.
"So then if you are here. Then does that mean, Uncle Yoshi is here too?!" Evelyn asks excitedly. However at that moment the joy that glowed in Splinter's eyes began to fade. This causes the three siblings to become sad.
"Oh so then Uncle Yoshi is..."Gregory tires to say.
"Gone." Evelyn says as she gently holds her brother's close to her as they also feel sad by this new information.
"Yes, it was fifteen years ago." Splinter says.
"Do you know how?" Evelyn asks Splinter.
"That is a story for another time." He says with a shake of his head. "For now we must tend to your wounds. Your bandages need to be changed." Splinter says as he offers her his furry hand. She happily accepts and he leads her to his room. "Donatello please call Miss O'Neal and ask her to come to the layer. I will need her assistance." Splinter tells his son.
"Will do Sensei." Donnie says as he pulls out his shell cell and starts calling.
As this happens Leo, Raph, Mikey are left alone with Raimundo and Gregory. Questions still buzzing in their minds. Raphael asks the question.
"So why do you all refer to Master Splinter's sensei as Uncle Yoshi?" He asks.
"Well the story goes is that when Evee and I were little. We were on our way home when we got attacked by two guys that wanted to rob us." Gregory starts to explain. "Our dad fought them off but he was out numbered. We would have been killed if Uncle Yoshi has not shown up." He continues. "He and our dad fight off the bad guys. I don't remember whole thing but Evee told me what she saw. And she said it was like they were a perfect tag team." He says.
"Wow." Mikey says.
"So that's what happened." Leo says impressed.
"Yeah since then. Our dad and Uncle Yoshi became close. Like brothers." Gregory says. "I remeber he would always stop by with sweets and toys." He says with a smile.
"We've heard so many stories about Master Yoshi. But now we someone besides Splinter who actually knew him." Leo says impressed. "Do you think you could tell us more about master Yoshi?" He asks.
"Well...I don't remeber much. But you could ask Evee." Gregory says. "She will remeber more about him." He admits.
"Ah." All three brothers say.
"But I can tell you some of the stuff I remember." Gregory offers.
The brothers decide to listen as Gregory shares his story of Master Yoshi. As this is happening, Donnie calls April to come over. And she arrives a few minutes later.
-Time Skip-
April arrives at the layer and in her hands is a bag full of supplies that she was asked to bring. She's greeted by the face of four familiar green faces. However she's surprised to see two younger families faces.
"April!" Gregory and Raimundo say together as they run and hug her.
"Raimundo. Gregory." She says happily as she accepts the hug. "What are you guys doing here?" She asks as she looks from the little boys and then to her turtle friends.
"Thats a long story, but for now we have a friend that needs your help." Donnie says as he and Leo lead April to where Evelyn is resting. They enter Splinter's room and she sees a familiar rat and an even more familiar young girl.
"April?!!" Evelyn says both surprised and happy to see a familiar face.
"Evelyn?" She says shocked. "So you're the ones the turtles told me about." She says as the group enters the room.
"I guess so. And I guess you also know the turtles too." Evelyn says with a timid smile.
"Yes they were the ones that helped me after my last job ended weirdly." April explains. "But how do you know them?" She asks.
"They saved me. I was in a bad situation with the purple dragons. But they were able to save me and my brothers." Evelyn explains.
"Ah so thats why Donnie told me to bring these supplies." She says as she places her bag down. "I was a little confused at first. Especially when he asked me to bring a bra." She says.
"Yes, while I was dressing her wounds she didn't have all her proper attire." Splinter says.
"Why don't you have a bra?" April asks as she sits down beside Evelyn.
"Well for some time. I've had to dress as a boy. Which ment having to bandage my chest." Evelyn begins to explain. "And I've been dressed like that for years now that it's kind of become a habit." She admits bashfully.
"And when we first met her. She was dressed as a boy." Leo says. "It wasn't until now that we learned that he is a she." Leo admits.
"Yeah. When I first grabbed her when she passed out. I thought I felt something off about her." Donnie admits. "And now it all makes sense. Which confirms our discovery." His face turned red as he bashfully remembered accidentally grabbing Evelyn's breast.
This causes Evelyn to also blush as she remembers feeling a three fingered hand grab her chest. Leo can't help but glare at his brother. Feeling a twinge of jealousy. Seeing everyone's reactions causes April and Splinter to laugh.
"Well don't worry. Now that I'm here. I can take care of everything." April says. And that becomes the others cue to leave. Splinter and the boys leave the girls alone. April looks over Evelyn's wounds and help put new bandages. Then digging into her bad. She pulls put an old bra that she had when she was Evelyn's age. Eve tries it on and its a good fit. Then April lends her some of her old clothes that she ware when she was in high school. And they were a perfect fit. The outfit was a blue jeans and a cute t-shirt with a peace symbol on it. And the look is completed with a denim jackets.
"Thanks for the clothes April." Evelyn says bashfully.
"Oh don't mention it, Eve. I've thought about giving you some of my old clothes since you looked to be my size when I was your age." April explains as she bushes Evelyn's hair.
"Thanks I appreciate it." Eve says with a smile as she feels April gently brush her hair. Then she puts her hair in a half up, half down style. This allows her hair to fall freely around her. Once the girls are done, they exit the room and join the others. The girls enter the room and the turtle brothers stair with wide eyed and their jaws dropped. They are surprised to see their new friend all cleaned up. Before Evelyn was in a beaten up hoodie with baggy and torn jeans. Now she looks more like a girl. A normal teenage girl. And the turtles being teenage boys that they are. Can't help but stair at her looking cute.
"Wow sis, you look so cool." Raimundo says as he looks at his sister wearing her new clothes.
"Thanks Rai." She says with a blushes.
April notices all the guy's reactions and she leans over to them and whispers. "Close your mouth boys or you'll catch flies." She says with a small chuckle. This causes all the boys to focus.
"Alright well if thats all. Then I'll be leaving. I've got to get back home. I've got some stuff I need to do before I open up shop today." April says as she grabs her bag and leaves. Everyone bids April goodbye as she leave.
Then the rest of the day continues normal for the turtles and their father. As for the young dragons. They continue to look after their sister as she rest and recovers from her injures. When evening rolled around, the turtles got Pizza and the small families came together. As Evelyn watches the scene before her she can't help but smile. Her brothers are smiling and having fun with Leonardo and his family. Its been years since she's seen those smiles on their faces. And she's so happy that her brother have bonded with Leonardo and his siblings. They really fit in. As if they were already brothers. And Splinter has been so welcoming towards the three children. Watching this scene unfold makes her realize something. Now she can leave and go search for her father. Now that her brothers will be safe and happy, she can begin her mission.
That night when everyone was asleep, Evelyn begins packing for her to begin her mission. She kisses both of her brothers heads, whispering a soft "I love you" before she leaves the layer. She arrives at the top of the garage and spots Raphael's bike takes the brakes off. Evelynpushes the bike towards the front of the garage and opens it. Just as she's about to walk out with the bike, familiar voice stops her.
"Going out for a midnight ride?" The voice said. Evelyn looks behind her and sees Leo leaning against the truck.
"Leo?!" She says surprised. She parks the bike and turns around, taking the helmet off. "Shouldn't you be asleep." She asks as she places the helmet on the bike.
"I could ask you the same thing?" He asks as he gets up.
"And where do you think you're going with my bike." Said another voice.
Eveyln looks to the side and sees Raphael sitting on the table where all the tools are resting. Evelyn is shocked that she didn't even notice him. Then suddenly the other turtle brothers appear from the shadows. As if by magic.
"I...well..." Evelyn tries to speak but her voice is locked.
"Leaving." Leo says. This causes her to look down at the bike.
"Why?" Michelangelo asks.
"My father is still missing. I've got to find out what happened." Evelyn explains.
"Where will you start." Donatello asks.
"I don't know. But I have to do this." Evelyn says she grabs the helmet. "For 7 years we've heard nothing from him. I'm the only one strong enough to find him." She says as she puts the helmet on before she mounts the bike.
"What about your brothers?" Raphael asks. This causes Evelyn to stop. "You're really willing to leave them behind?" He asks.
"If it means that they have a chance at a better life. Then yes." She says honestly as she grips the hadnle. "They deserve a better life than the one that they have now. And being with you guys. They can." She explains. "Its been years since I've seen them smile like they did with you all. They can finally have the family that they deserve. And I want that for them. And I'll do anything to give them that happiness." She says as she looks at all of the turtles. "Even if it means that I'm out of the picture." She says as she looks to the side.
"But it won't be the family that they need." Leo says as he places a hand on her shoulder. "Yes they might have everything that they want with us. But there will always be the one thing that they will need. And we can't give it to them." He says. "They need their sister. Eve; they need you." He says this time he gently takes off the helmet. This causes her hair to fall freely around her.
"And we do need you sis." Said a soft voice. Everyone turns and sees Raimundo and Gregory standing at the entrance of the garage with Splinter standing behind them.
"Guys." She says surprised to see them. Suddenly both brothers rush towards their sister and hug her tightly.
"Don't leave us." Raimundo begs as tears begin to form in his eyes.
"But I can't. I'm so ashamed of what I had to do to give you all a better life. What I did was unforgettable. And I believe that I can only make things better by find our father by myself." Evelyn begins to explain.
"We don't care what you did. What matters is that we stick together." Gregory says.
"And you don't have to find your father alone." Michelangelo says as he gently places a hand on Evelyn's shoulder.
"Yeah we can help you?" Donatello offers as he joins the small group.
"You guys will help us?" Evelyn asks softly as she watches the rest of the turtles brothers gather around her.
"Master Damion Carson is a dear friend of my beloved Master Yoshi. He happily welcomed us into his family when we first moved here. So the sons and daughter of Master Carson is always welcomed here." Master Splinter says loving as he also joins the group. Tenderly stroking Evelyn's back.
"We always look after our own. And since our Sensie's have a bond. Then that means that you and your brothers have a bond with us as well." Leo says. "Which means you don't have to do anything alone any more." He says as he stands beside his brothers.
"Besides, I still want a rematch. You did promise a rematch." Raphael says as he playfully punches Evelyn's arm. This causes a giggle to escape her lips as she rubs her arm.
"You're part of our family now." He says as he gently takes her hand in his and gently squeezes it.
"Family." Evelyn says softly as she looks down at her hand that Leonardo is holding.
Leonardo realizes what he's done and bashfully let's it go. Then Evelyn looks at her brothers and then at the Splinter and the rest of the turtles. She never thought that she would ever feel that warmth that comes from a family bond again. At least for her. But here it is. She is so moved by the welcoming and acceptance that the turtles and Splinter has offered her. That she can't help but cry. And they come rushing down her eyes. Splinter tenderly holds her as she cries. While the turtles smile that their new friend and family member has finally felt welcomed.
The new family returns to their home. And all return to their rooms to sleep. Evelyn snuggles with her brothers as they sleep. Then she finally falls asleep welcoming the Beginning of a new life, with her new family.
