The Revelation

I jolted awake, heart pounding and chest heaving as I sat up in the middle of the bed. I pushed my hair out of my face and dropped my head into my hands. I heard my bedroom door open and soft footsteps before someone sat on the bed beside me. "Narika?" Lara Croft, the one that had found me wandering around aimlessly bloodied and disoriented, on her property, asked as she put a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey Lara…did I wake you up again?" I asked not looking up from my hands.

"No. I was in the library doing some research when I heard you, was it the same dream?" She asked as she brushed my hair back off my shoulder, I sighed and finally looked up at her sadly.

"Yeah. I don't understand it, I mean I know that I have amnesia and that a good portion of my life is missing but why do I keep having that dream?"

"It's been two years Narika and you haven't told anyone the details of the dream. It isn't doing you any good to keep it bottled up like that." I sucked in a deep breath and slowly let it out, she was right. I had to talk to someone about it or it would drive me insane.

"It's in first person, like it's a game and I'm the player. I know it's a girl character I guess you could call her, but I don't know who she is. She's running from this thing…it's like fifteen feet tall with grey skin and black eyes. It's holding a large industrial like chain. Like one you would see on a ship to raise and lower the anchor. She has a gun with four bullets and a hunting and that's it. Then these guys show up and ambush her and surround her. So she calls someone else and orders a missile strike and blows the whole city up, herself included." It was silent for several seconds and then Lara sighed.

"Jesus Narika why didn't you tell me sooner?" I shrugged nonchalantly.

"It's my cross to bear Lara."

"That's not true love. You're like a daughter to me, I could have helped you or at the very least comforted you." I sighed and let her pull me into a hug and for the first time in two years I felt safe, and relaxed. "Go back to sleep Narika. I'll stay with you." She whispered but I was already asleep. Hours later I woke to an empty room. I stood and stretched before making my way down to the dining room. Zip and Allister were already eating breakfast when I arrived but Lara was nowhere to be seen.

"Hey kiddo, how're you feeling today?" Zip asked as I sat down and took a drink of orange juice.

"Fine. Where's Lara?"

"Up in her study, said she was doing some research and for us to leave her be for awhile. She did mention that she wanted you to join her up there when you woke up." Alister said kindly before winking at me over his coffee cup. I nodded and grabbed a piece of dry toast before heading out of the room but not before I heard Zip say.

"Man just give it up. You've been after her for two years and she's shown zero interest in you."

"I think she's warming up to me." I shook my head as I made my way up the grand staircase and into Lara's study. I rapped on the door lightly and then pushed the door open to see her sitting at her desk staring at her computer screen, several papers were thrown across the desk and scattered about the floor around her.

"You wanted to see me Lara?" I asked as she looked up from the computer and waved me over.

"Yeah come here. I want to show you something." Hesitantly I walked over and looked at the screen over her shoulder to see the remains of a ruined city.

"What is this?" I asked

"It was a city in Devon."

"What happened to it?" She sighed and turned to face me solemnly and said.

"Two years ago there was a bioterrorist attack in the city. The attack was contained when the city was destroyed by a missile." The room started to spin as a ringing began in my ears. Lara jumped up and guided me to the chair, gently pushing my head to my knees. "It's alright, take some deep breaths you'll be fine." After several minutes of deep, shaky breaths. I groaned and sat up.

"Lara…this can't be a coincidence can it." She shook her head as a determined expression fell upon her face.

"It's not a coincidence Narika. Listen from you told me I think the girl in your dream is you and if you called the missile in then you were on a mission probably from the US Government, there are two groups that they deploy. The Bioterrorism Security Assessement Alliance, or BSAA. I don't think you work with them as they are more military like and you were not wearing a uniform. So that leads me to think that you work with Feild Operations Support or FOS. I've called them and arranged a meeting with their top agents. I'm heading out now but I want you to stay here until I know more, do you understand?" There was so much going through my mind at once, mutely I nodded and she knelt before me.

"Promise me you won't leave the grounds."

"I promise." I whispered and she patted me on the shoulder and left the room.

(Lara)

I sighed as the plane began it's descent and looked out of the window, the sight took my breath away. There was a large manor house sitting atop a hill with a long driveway. There were a number of buildings at the bottom of the hill, an obstacle course and shooting range could be seen by the edge of the forest and a green house as well. The entire property was surrounded by a fence and several agents were milling about, some looked up as the plane settled onto the ground.

I stepped off of the plane and looked around, my eyes finally landed on two men approaching. The older of the two was 5'10 and had startling blue eyes and dark blonde hair, the younger of the two stood at about 6'1 with dark brown hair and eyes; he crossed his arms and glared at me angrily. The blonde approached and held out his hand. "I'm Leon Kennedy this is my son Murtagh HQ said you wanted to talk to someone about the incident in Devon two years ago?" I heard a hint of pain in his voice and saw his son's eye twitch to the ground quickly.

"Yes. What can you tell me about it?"

"Why do you want to know?" His son demanded and I shot him a quick glare.

"Murtagh it's fine."

"How do we know that we can trust her?" He hissed and Leon smirked and shook his head lightly.

"Son how many spies do you know would willing land a personal plane in the middle of our compound?" He sighed and resigned himself to staring me intently. "Forgive him but it's a bit of a touchy subject for us to speak of." I nodded.

"I understand that it's touchy but I have to ask you about it anyway." He searched my face for several seconds and then he crossed his arms, sucked in a breath and said quietly.

"Two years ago Neo - Umbrella released a new virus. Two of our top agents were sent in to discover if there were any survivors, retrieve a cure if there was one and dispatch of any infected. Things went…downhill pretty quickly once they arrived and they were separated, after that we only have half of a report…One of the Agents…" He stopped for a minute and then continued. "One of the girls we sent in she called in the missile strike that destroyed the city, the explosion was centered around her location so her partner was able to survive but she was lost."

He sucked in a deep breath and then slowly let it out before looking at me. "Is that what you wanted to know?"

"The agent you lost what was her name?" Murtagh sucked in a deep breath, and for a moment I thought there were tears in his eyes.

"Silvyr…Silvyr Kennedy." I stared at him for a moment and he nodded. "My daughter, now if you don't mind I would like to know why you've brought all these painful memories to the surface." I couldn't think for a moment for all the thoughts racing through my mind but I knew that I had to tell them. I took a deep breath and locked eyes with him.

"She isn't dead." Time seemed to slow for just a moment and then Murtagh lunged at me only to slam into his father's arm as he blocked his advanced. Leon's eyes matched the fury that was written across Murtagh's face.

"Why-" I stopped him quickly.

"I'm not lying, two years ago I found a young woman wandering around the back of my property. She was bloody and disoriented, I got her some medical care and they told me that she had taken a very sever hit to the head resulting in amnesia." Murtagh was glaring at me murderously and trembling in unchecked rage. "She said that the only thing she could remember was her name. Narika." When I said that name they froze.

"How do you-…" I pulled out my phone and quickly dialed her number, as it rang I held a finger to my lips.

"Hey Lara is everything okay?" As soon as they heard her voice, pure joy flooded over them and tears fell from their eyes.

"Yeah everything's fine. Listen I'm sending the plane back, pack you things kiddo it's time for you to come home."
