Desmond was planning to make a project where he would research several kingdoms. As soon as Amber heard that he was about to come and look through Enchancia, she automatically volunteered to be his tour guide and show him the most astounding landmarks in the kingdom.
"Have you gone to Freezenburg yet?" Amber asked the Mezbez prince as they started their walk down Dunwiddie village. Desmond nodded and explained how Hildegard showed him a famous tree covered in frost to the point where the tree was beautifully blue and sparkled. "Well, the Frost Tree is NOTHING compared to Enchancia's brand new Fruit Tree," Amber said as she pointed to the tree in the middle of the village filled with ginormous fruit. She went on to explain how their sorcerer, Cedric, actually conjured this himself a few months ago. It now can feed all of the villagers. Desmond's jaw dropped and then a smile grew as he frantically took notes.
Overhead on her broom, Lucinda noticed Princess Amber spending so much personal time with this prince. A smirk formed on her face as she went, "Ahhh... So this is what Sofia was telling me about? Amber really does have this boy wrapped around her fingers. Maybe I can do something to help."
All of a sudden, a few fruits began to fall from the tree. Desmond looked up and gasped as he noticed a large watermelon about to drop right on top of Amber. "Look out!" he cried as he jumped and attempted to catch the watermelon. He wasn't able to catch it, but he moved it enough for it to land beside Amber instead of on top of her.
After Amber gave a small scream, she looked to see Desmond catching his breath. "Desmond... you- you saved me," she said.
Desmond gave a gentle smile before going, "Watermelon's are super thick. I couldn't let it hurt you." He then gave a slight laugh as he added, "Plus I know you wouldn't want your dress to be stained." Amber laughed along before they began walking to the next landmark.
"Awww man..." Lucinda said. "Desmond saving Amber was supposed to make her fall for him. Oh well, let's see what else I can do."
Desmond and Amber had now reached the newly opened museum. "And look! There's a whole exhibit dedicated to crowns," Amber told Desmond. She added how every single one of them would look great on her.
"Except maybe that one," Desmond joked as he pointed to an old rusted crown where more than half of the crystals were missing and some of it was even broken.
"Oh! Goodness no. NO ONE can pull THAT off," Amber replied. Desmond laughed along as he took more notes on the Dunwiddie Museum.
Lucinda peeked through a window. How in the world would she make a match making situation in a museum? "I've got it!" she exclaimed. She opened one of the windows and casted a breeze. Some of the crowns fell over and Desmond rushed to pick them up for Amber. Suddenly, Lucinda doubled hexed and made the breeze twice as strong. Desmond now slid right into Amber. Lucinda smirked. Desmond was so close to Amber that now something was bound to happen.
However, Desmond just backed up and then set the crowns down. "Sorry Amber, the window opened and a breeze blew on me," Desmond said as he adjusted Amber's tiara back in place. Amber called a guard over to go and close the window back.
Lucinda sighed. "Desmond. What are you doing? That was your chance," she mumbled.
Next thing Desmond knew, Amber was taking him into caves underneath the castle. Reaching the entrance, Desmond wouldn't step forward with Amber. He began stepping back and looking everywhere else. Amber could hear his muttering.
"Come on, Desmond. Don't you want to see more exotic traits of Enchancia," Amber said as she motioned him forward. Desmond gulped before slowly moving towards her. "You're about to meet the trolls under the castle," Amber exclaimed.
"TROLLS!?" the fearful prince cried as he once again paused in motion. Amber clarified how they weren't scary and that Sofia is actually friends with them. "Sofia is friends with everyone. That doesn't count," Desmond replied. Amber smirked and rolled her eyes before coming and dragging Desmond forward.
Desmond suddenly noticed the beautiful living space of the trolls. He looked up and noticed the ceiling was super sparkly, almost as if he was staring at the night sky. "Woah... Aren't those-"
"Star stones?" Amber said, finishing Desmond's train of thought. "Yes. Yes they are. The trolls all love seeing the stars, just like their famous, beautiful, smart, royal, superior, blonde, fashionable princess... ME!"
Desmond began to jot more notes until he paused and smiled up at the stones and back at Amber. He regretted being so scared to come down there.
Lucinda popped her head from behind a wall. She realized this was the perfect spot to make something happen. "Hex," she whispered as she pointed her wand towards the ceiling. Now, it even smelt and felt like the night sky, which she knew both Desmond and Amber loved!
Desmond's gentle smile grew as he nervously began reaching his hand for Amber's. Lucinda quietly cheered to herself until she looked back at the royals and gave a small gasp. Right when their pinkies touched, a troll popped up behind them. "What'cha lookin' at?" he asked them.
Desmond and Amber both gave small shouts. Amber looked behind her and gave a sigh of relief. "Oh... it's just Gnarlie," she said with a gentle laugh. Amber then had Gnarlie explain to Desmond fascinating facts about the trolls so he could put it in his project.
Amber finally led Desmond to the Ever Golden Glades. "This is practically our enchanted forest. Dozens of magical creatures live here," she told him.
Desmond was no longer just taking notes, but he now was drawing as well. He could not pass the opportunity to have a picture of this beautiful forest. His eyes were lit up. "What kind of magical creatures are there?" Desmond asked.
"Well, one of the many examples is a fire-tipped phenix," Amber answered as she pointed into the trees. "I have learned that loud noises startle them, making them burst into flames. BUT-"
"They're able to reform from their ashes," Desmond finished. Amber was very impressed, asking how he knew. "I read about them in a book on magical birds," Desmond replied.
This setting was probably even more beautiful than the caves. Lucinda realized how this might be her last chance. The only problem was... what would she do? Everything else had failed. Heroic situation, forceful closeness, and a romantic setting. If those didn't work, what would? Lucinda leaned against her broom and began to ponder. Suddenly, she realized the solution was right in front of her. Her Ravencatcher! She could use her broom to give Desmond and Amber a ride.
Desmond pointed to another tree. "Look, Amber," he said. "A water-tailed willow." There were so many beautiful wild creatures in the forest. Desmond quickly began to draw the bird until something caught underneath him.
Amber and Desmond were now riding on Lucinda's Ravencatcher. "I didn't know Enchancia had wild broomsticks!" Desmond cried as he tightly held his grip.
"It doesn't!" Amber responded, screaming just as much as Desmond was. After a few seconds, the ride was now smooth. "Wow. Desmond, open your eyes. It's... it's beautiful!"
Desmond, still holding his grip, opened his eyes. They had a beautiful view of ALL of Enchancia. It was almost like riding in a flying coach, but they could actually feel the breeze. It actually felt like they were riding the air instead of just looking into it. "It really is beautiful, but also terrifying," he replied.
Amber giggled, not surprised of the boy's horror. Desmond turned and looked back at Amber. He smiled along. They noticed the broom come to a stop. Amber was now laughing completely, Desmond's smile grew even more. He could tell she was getting a thrill out of this ride and was enjoying her time with him.
Out of nowhere, the front of the broom quickly bounced and leaned back. In response, it made Desmond start to fall forward towards Amber as he was turned around and accidentally kiss her. Desmond readjusted his position and nervously go, "A-Amber! I-I... I did NOT mean to do that! I started to fall and that was NOT my intention. And... And-"
Desmond embarrassedly rambled on and on. Amber simply smirked then leaned forward and gave Desmond another kiss. "It's ok," she said. "It was the best part of my day." Desmond's face began to flush. He and Amber were now giving a long kiss on a broomstick over Enchancia as the sun began to set. Lucinda's mission was complete!
