Toshineko stalked through the crowd, watching them parting around him, their paws raised to his care. The city rose in tall, stagnant buildings, grey concrete, yet it should never have been built to speak of fake power, Keidolifya. The country itself was nothing to him, not like their civilians would understand that anyway.
Yet it was one power, one stronghold, that would cement his path across the country, the stalk of death that he led, head held high with a tilt to his chin that spoke volumes to those that knew him.
He waved his hand at the civilians filled with humans, animals and Pokemons with a big smile and spoke with a Keidolifyan accent.
"Thank you, sir. Many kindnesses to you, sir. Thank you... Thank you so much."
The citizens of the city of Keidolifya, however, did not know that he was not the army general, of their country, Quan Ozai. He couldn't blame them, really, considering that he was wearing a replica of the general's red military suit, complete with his lapel pins denoting his rank.
Although, there were spots of blood on the hem of one or two on his disguise. Eh, nothing he could do about it. It's not like people would notice.
A moment of peace, the lion mayor raising their paw to praise him – and then he gave the signal. No more than a twitch of his ear. He knew he had to keep a low profile in the parade for his mission to succeed.
The parade lasted for about 15 minutes, and after 13 minutes, they were dispatched to the dock to interrogate the Audian civilians suspected of being a spy in Keidolifya.
The dock was wide, and several colorful cargos were placed like walls built to make the leap of escape impossible. Luckily for them, they were at the end of the dock were it had lots of space for them and they wouldn't have to be nearby the ocean water, and nobody else, except the captured civilians and the flying drone with a small camera recording, could see or hear them.
The soldiers brought out the captured civilians from Audia, some animals and some humans, their eyes streaming with tears and muzzles gagged, hiding their cries from his army.
What they also saw was the rabbit he held on his hand.
"Citizens of Audia... Did you think yourselves above the might of the Keidolifyan Liberation Army?" he said with a wide grin.
They would believe it, now that he was wearing the army's garb, even though he do consider himself mightier than Keidolifya. He laughed and flung his arm out wide, the crowds stumbling back, wide-eyed. If anybody from the Keidolifyan military realized what his plan was, they would've done something to protect themselves or their civilians. Too bad they were too busy playing right into his hands to even notice.
"No, please!" the tiger citizen cried.
"Don't!" a male human citizen begged.
Someone, he didn't much care who, held their paws up, as if that was going to be enough to stop him. Some kind of fox with white fur... Oh, so gauche.
"Among you...is a spy!" he said, pointing my fingers at them.
He paused before one of the hostages, a male rabbit with white fur, and smirked as if the thought had just come to him.
"You... Citizens!" He spread his arms wide, shrieks in the air. "The spy among you – you know who it is, the insidious little rat that lies in your midst! Reveal their identity to me...or else this Tiaspin rabbit shall die!"
They gasped, begging for mercy, the rabbit shaking. He didn't look, only trembled, thinking his fate was sealed. He would have considered them smart, if they have done what he told them.
"Ah... Have you no answers for me?"
He shook his head, as if he was disappointed, though it was all as he expected. They could throw out names, but he would find out the truth soon enough, one way or the other.
"A pity... Such a pity..."
The rabbit was only a kid, scrawny, skinny, and he towered over him. He didn't say anything, not as he took the rabbit's arm shortly, sharply, twisting.
The rabbit's scream cut through the air, citizens reeling, though his soldiers held fast, closing their ranks. They wouldn't let anyone go, not as Toshineko's paws rested on either side of the rabbit's head, while his eyes danced with cruelty.
"One snap and there goes his neck..." He breathed. "Oh, but won't you tell me where the spy is in your midst? It could spare his life..."
His grip tightened and the rabbit shrieked. "Me!"
He paused, raising his eyebrow.
"And who dares speak in my presence?"
A bull, who he could tell was from Audia with his horns bowed, trembled a little. Even without knowing him, he could tell it was from rage rather than fear. He knew he didn't like that, but it was still a little amusing to him.
"Me..." The bull swallowed hard, tilting his chin up defiantly. "I am the spy. Don't hurt him..."
He did not see any begging, but he would see to it that he pleaded for more than his life. Those that defied him and evil begging for death.
That was what he liked. Not only that, but he could tell by his eyes looking away for a second that he wasn't really a spy. Still, he grinned and chuckled, playing along. "Well, well, well, it seems someone sees sense."
He shoved the rabbit aside, as he smiled and walked toward his mother. A female fur wailed a moment too late as he fired the handgun from his paw, the bang resounding, a ringing in their ears. His aim could not have been better.
The gleam of life faded from his eyes, blood spilling down his back from the bullet hole, shirt stained crimson with the spill of fresh life essence. At least his death had been instant.
"Ah..." He shook my head as if sadly, though the glint in his eyes told differently. "I aimed for the head...but, look at that, I got the heart,'' he said, putting the gun back into his pocket. ''A good shot still, is it not?"
He didn't even allow anyone a moment to recover from his cruelty, clapping his paws together. He raised his right hand, giving the signal to his soldiers to aim. And so they did, aiming right at the civilians. He pointed his finger to the civilians, signaling them to open fire, which they did.
Screams. Oh, how he loved the screams of foolish do-gooders. Bullets rained down, civilians fleeing, though they were only allowed to go a short distance as, of course, the soldiers keeping them in place from the rear. He did not want to waste any good soldiers, after all.
The rabbit lay amongst the bodies as he watched the bodies fall, one by one. This was intended to make it look like the Keidolifyan army had gone paranoid about the Audian civilians being spies, and so they would kill them without a second thought.
He smirked wickedly. They only saw the uniform. And what power did that give in a uniform?
He raised his right hand again, signaling his soldiers to stop.
His soldiers understood it and halted on his command. After the civilians were dead, he glanced at the flying drone and pointed at it saying, ''Know this, ignorant Audians! Those who dare spy on our great country of Keidolifya will pay the serious price! Turn off the drone.'' The red light on the drone turned off after his officer, disguised as a Keidolifyan military officer, pressed the button on the remote.
He finally took off the disguise and threw it at the ocean water. Underneath the red uniform laid a green jacket and trousers, his belt clasped in yellow with a red cat emblem on the buckle, his trademark smirk identifying himself as none other than Toshineko Hirozaki.
Thankfully, nobody but his military saw his real uniform. Because all the soldiers and officers that were there with him were disguised as the Keidolifyan military.
A pity... such a pity. The civilians that were killed never knew who the real murderer was.
His grin grew wider and wider, stretching from ear to ear. His male bear officer approached him and he said to him in his normal accent, ''Your mission is done here. Tell the higher-ups about the result, and make sure they know that this was the result of the Keidolifyan Army's doing.'' The officer saluted him and said, "Yes sir!", and so, they all headed for the exit after going through a little maze in the dock.
When they left, they waited for their armored vehicles on the sidewalk, and so, they came. They looked like they were from the Keidolifyan army, though when the doors were opened, he could see his disguised men nodding at them, recognizing that he was their leader.
He smiled and nodded back. He went on the back of a military transport jeep, the hood over it covering the sight of him and his men. ''Take me back to the headquarters. I still have much to do.'' The wolf driver said, "Yes sir." and he drove off.
Now that the operation was complete, he could rest easy for now, knowing that once the video of the shooting was leaked to the world, they would see it as the Keidolifyan Army's doing, most likely ordered by the Keidolifyan Liberation Party to capture, interrogate and shoot any suspected Audian civilians.
It would be an even better news for him, too, because everyone thought he was dead! They thought his army had been wiped out at the country of Neoria. They thought that it had been his blood on the battlefield. Yet not a single drop had been spilt from his troops, only the false troops they had set up to fail in their stead, dressed in their colors.
"No one will stop me,'' he said that with conviction, not wanting to raise his voice. All was as he wanted it to, the powerful beating of his heart could not be stopped. Wasn't faking one's death a beautiful thing?
He sure think it was! With the world believing him to be dead, his plan would be a lot easier to accomplish.
He could not wait to see it play out, exactly as the dictator determined.
