Everything turned on in an instant.
Chiyo didn't know what she just did, but it felt like she had some power surging through her. Her heart pounded as her hands trembled. She turned around to see the containers that held five monkeys began opening up. The first one to step out was a reddish monkey, who held his hand up to his head.
"Damn, how long have we been in stasis?" He groaned.
Her eyes slightly widened. If she wasn't losing her mind, she just heard him speak. She understood what he just said. It didn't take long for him to notice the girl standing there. He whistled as they locked eyes. His mouth turned into a cocky smile.
"Well, aren't you a beauty, and you were the one to wake me up!"
Not even a second passed when he was smacked upside his head with an audible 'ow' coming from him. It looked like the one who smacked him was a yellow monkey with pink eyes. As much as she felt like her face went a little red, he deserved it for how horrible that pickup line was.
"Sprx!"
Sprx, from what she called him, looked at her as he rubbed where he was smacked.
"What?"
"She's a child! A human child, and you're over here flirting with her!"
"I'm just being nice!"
Chiyo gulped. "...No, no, that was definitely flirting."
The two looked at each other then back at her. The other monkeys who came out after them looked at each other too.
"...You can understand us?" The black monkey asked.
"Yeah? I'm not sure how, but…"
The red monkey nervously laughed as everyone stared at him. The black one looked at Chiyo again.
"I apologize for my partner's inappropriate advances."
"I-It's fine."
Chiyo looked at Sprx again.
