Dr. Spuddies is here to give you:
A great gaming crossover for everyone who's played a Zelda game or collected waifus in Genshin Impact!
The Legend Of Genshin: A Tale Of Two Heroes
Prologue Chapter Preview: Twin Destinies
Imagine if Nintendo allowed Mihoyo to make a Genshin Impact crossover with any of the 3D Zelda games. I'd pick Breath Of The Wild first, because it has a vast open world to explore, just like Genshin, but Twilight Princess, Ocarina Of Time and Skyward Sword are good options too.
"It must be an awful lot of responsibility for those two young ones. They're not even old enough to drink most alcohol, and yet they're entrusted with the task of saving the world!"
-Tingle, that nutjob in green who thinks he's a fairy reborn
A pair of heroes... from two separate worlds... that suddenly bump into each other, and must risk everything to protect the kingdom of Hyrule from a hidden evil whose hallmark is subterfuge and sedition. (But it's not Ganon, or Majora, or Vaati, or even Demise!)
Their quest will be long and dangerous, and their resolve and willpower will be sorely tested. They will go to impossible lengths in the name of friendship, and to help those who cannot help themselves.
It looks like it's time to start a new game, with a new save file for two players!
Player 1: Link (the BOTW incarnation)
Player 2: The Traveler, Lumine (not Aether)
How are these two going to meet each other though? Stay tuned, an answer will be waiting in the next few chapters! (Following the aftermath of this prologue.)
Our story starts off with Lumine visiting an inn and falling asleep as soon as she hit the bed. It had been a long day of running around the wilderness of Mondstadt, doing commissions for the Adventurer's Guild.
Author's note: Sleepy Link has always been a thing, from Link To The Past to Wind Waker, so we'll start off this quest with the female Traveler snoozing.
However, while she was asleep, Lumine had a peculiar dream, with a mysterious voice speaking in her head that may or may not have given her clues she needed to know about where to look for her missing twin, Aether.
The conversation with the voice went something like this... and in the dream, Lumine was laid down on some kind of stone table in a dimly lit room (pretty much the Shrine of Resurrection in BOTW.)
The Voice: Traveler... open your eyes. I bring tidings, both good and bad. This is not a normal dream. And neither is your imagination playing tricks on you. You're actually aware of what's going on here.
Lumine: Who are you? And... I know that I'm dreaming, yet it's also real? Why are you bringing me news? What's happening?
The Voice: My, oh my, are you full of questions. First of all, I prefer to remain anonymous, because a lot is at stake here, it's dangerous for me to get involved in ancient prophecies, yet I must do so anyway. You may call me "The Voice." Secondly, this dream could be considered a lucid dream, but I am 100% real as an individual. I'm using my telepathic power to reach out to you, because you are desperately needed for a future struggle between good and evil.
The Voice: As for the news and tidings I bring, here's the good part: I know a path to finding your twin. The bad part though, is that it requires you to travel to a whole different world.
Lumine: Well, now I'm one step closer to reuniting with my brother. But how am I supposed to get to another world? I lost my abilities to warp time and space when that Unknown God attacked and separated me from Aether.
The Voice: No need to worry. I have the means to temporarily restore your dimension-traveling powers. But you must do your thing quickly after waking up, the effects of my spell won't last that long.
The Voice: And remember, once you go, there is no returning to the world you are leaving behind, the one we call Teyvat. That is, until you reach the end of your journey and find your brother. Then, and only then, will you finally be at peace with yourself, and have a place to call home, where you can remind your deceased family members that they won't be forgotten... visit their graves and tell them about the adventures you had. That's all I know about your future, according to my predictions, and I could very much be wrong. Now, go! Defy fate, and take a stand against tyranny!
"Perhaps... once you reach this new world, the kingdom of Hyrule... you'll meet SOMEONE, a courageous soul, who might be able to aid you in your quest."
Lumine woke up to the sound of a church bell. She couldn't believe what had happened that night. Some kind of prophet had wormed their way into her mind using psychic powers, told her about where to look for her brother, and gave away vital clues. Not only that, but she realized that, to her astonishment, her dimension traveling powers were back, and with them, the angel wings that she had lost during her fight with the Unknown God all those years ago.
At first, Lumine hesitated. She couldn't go back to Teyvat if she tried this. But she had looked all over the Seven Nations for her brother, to no avail. It was time to say goodbye to this realm. Hyrule awaited her arrival.
"Farewell, Mondstadt. You were the closest thing I ever had to a homeland in my memories. I need to find the only family I have left, though. So maybe I'll be back someday in the far future."
And just like that, a portal opened in the room of the inn, and after it closed, the only evidence that Lumine was ever there was the payment of Mora she had left for the innkeeper. She had packed everything up and headed for the second world on her journey... HYRULE.
Side note (for the audience:) Who do you think the Voice is?
