Chapter 1

The sunset was getting near, the sun was reaching the horizon, and there I was appreciating the view at the beach. My time was coming to an end, and the only thing in my mind was that they would never remember what happen ten years ago, and now they would even forget about me, like I was never there in the first place. Tears were trying to form in my eyes, but I couldn't let that happen, not when he was going to meet me in a few minutes for the last time.

"Sora." A voice I new too well said in a happy but out of breath tone. He had finally arrived.

"You. Are. Late." I said looking at him, he had stopped a few steps away, with his hands on his knees trying to catch up with his breath.

"I'm sorry, my train run a little longer, that's why I came running." He explained, taking on of his hands to his head and smiling at me. "Any way. You said you needed to tell me something? What is it?" He asked while walking closer to me.

I sat on the floor, and he did the same sitting by my side.

"It's nothing special. I just wanted to be with you. It's been a long time since we got out the two of us." I said without looking at him. I didn't have the strength to do it, if I looked at those eyes, and if looked at mine, he would know that I was hiding something from him on the spot.

"That's true. Sorry about that, trains are going crazy because of the next game." He explained.

"I know, and it's a big game for you. You need it for your scholarship. Last year in high school bring a lot of pressure." I said, still avoiding looking at him.

And then out of nowhere, a pain stroked my chest. A pain so intense that made me hug myself, I tried to stand up but as soon I did it, I fall on my knees.

"Sora, what happen, are you alright?" He asked, worry on his voice, which just made me feel even worse.

I felt his hand on my shoulder, the pain was getting worse by the second. And I knew it was calling for me. But it was still early for that, so something must be happening.

"I need to go." I said, once again trying to get up to leave.

"You need to go where Sora? He asked, his hand still on my shoulder, and now the other one holding my arm, helping me balance myself.

Without saying a word, I stretched my hand with my digivice and a portal open in seconds. I knew that from that moment Taichi would be full of questions because for all that the digidestined knew, opening a portal like that was not possible.

"Sora, what is happening?" He asked, I could hear the wonder in his voice.

I did not answer, there was no time. I tool his hands out of my shoulder and arm and then reach for the portal. But just before the portal could close, behind me I felt his hand grab mine. No. he shouldn't have done that, he shouldn't have followed me. As I stepped into the Digiworld the pain started to subside, I look back and there he was still holding my hand.

"Why, why did you follow?" I asked him.

"Do you really think I would let you come alone when you were in so much pain just a few seconds ago and in front of me?" He replied, in disbelief. "And who in the world did you open the portal just like that?" He questioned.

"It's a very long story. But for now, we need to find Gennai, and send you back to the real world." I told him.

Taichi finally let go my hand, just to cross his arms and look at me like he was mad.

"I'm not going back without you." He spoke.

"Come on, we have a lot to walk to reach Gennai's house." I said ignoring the statement he just made.

We started to walk, side by side. Even though he was there I still could not tell him the true, or at least not all of it.

"Taichi, you cannot tell anything you see here today to any of the others." I told him.

"Hmm? Why not?" He questioned.

"You just can't alright? It's… it's complicate, ok?" I told him.

He nodded in agreement, but I could see that he was still wondering why I had made that request. After a long walk we finally could see Gennai's house and after a few more minutes we were reaching the door, with Gennai already there waiting.

"Sora, how come you are already here? Isn't it still early?" Gennai asked confused to see me.

"Yes, but something must have happened Gennai. I need to go to the Ancient city." I told him,

I could see the concern on Gennai's face, but there was nothing more I could say since I still didn't know what had happened.

"Ancient city? Can any of you start to explain anything of what is going on?" Taichi asked.

"Since you are here, I will let you know, so come on in you two." Gennai said gesturiong us to enter the house.

Once the three of us were inside, we sat at a table and Gennai brough a book to the top of the table. The book was large that any other book in his bookshelf. He opened the book and the first image was the shadows of the first five digidestind.

"You remember what I told you all six years ago, right? That there were five children that came to the Digiworld before you?" Gennai started, Taichi nodded in agreement.

"I remember that, but we never knew who they were." Taichi said.

Gennai turn the page and an image of me with eight years old was there.

"Well, Sora was one of them. And the only one that stayed with her memories of those times. The other four don't even remember to have been here at all." Gennai explained.

Taichi looked at me, but I could not say a word.

"Why is she the only one that remembers though?" Taichi questioned.

"Because that was the only way to save the Digiworld at that time." Gennai replied.

"So, you know who are the other four? Right?" Taichi asked me.

"Yes, I know who and where they are." I finally spoke.

"And what's the Ancient city?" Taichi asked again.

Gennai turned the page once again, and on that one was a tall building with a bright sphere with eight different colors. And then Gennai spoke again.

"The Ancient city is where the source of all the power that maintains the Digiworld exist. The first five found out the source and then they created the city to protect it. The city is hidden and the only one that can enter are the first five digidestined. But right now, only Sora knows where the city is."

"And why was Sora in pain just before we came to the Digiworld? Does it have to do with that city?" Taichi asked.

"That is because I'm connected with the city and the source. And if something or someone tries to destroy it, that is how I know." I explained.

"That is also why she is the only one that remembers." Gennai added.

"So, what you are saying is that someone is trying to get to the source? What would happen if the source was destroyed?" Taichi questioned.

"This world would disappear forever." I spoke and the room went silent.

I needed to go to the Ancient city fast, before someone else entered the city, since once I would be in the city, all would be fine.

"I need to go and now." I said while getting up from the chair.

Gennai closed the book and put it back to his place. Taichi grabbed my hand once again as I started to walk out of the house.

"I'm going with you, and we should call the others, if someone is trying to get to the source, we will need all the help we can get." He suggested.

My reaction was faster than lighting.

"NO. And you are not coming either." I told him.

"Sora, I think Taichi is right. You shouldn't go alone. Call over the rest and then go." Gennai said from the other side of the room.

"No, I will go with Biyomon." I stated.

"Sora you don't know who is trying to get into the city, listen to me and call over the rest of the digidestined." Gennai said serious, and I knew he would not let it go.

"Fine, but then don't come complain that everything is going to repeat." I warned him.

Taichi grabbed his D/terminal and sent a message to all the other to come, after a few minutes all of them were there, and so where all our digicompanions. I was outside with Biyomon while Gennais and Taichi inform the others of all they knew.

Koushiro was asking all the questions that he wanted to know more about, special about the first five and what happen. Yamato was angry that someone was trying to destroy the digiworld, Hikaru and Talkeru were worried about the digimons, Joe was his usual self and wanted to get things done so he could go back to study, Mimi didn't know what to say and Daisuke, Miyaki, Iori and Ken were just confused about everything.

"Sora, what are you gonna do when all of this ends?" Biyomon asked me worried.

"The sam thing I did ten years ago. It's the only thing I can do and it's the best for all of them." I replied, again controlling myself not to get tears on my eyes. This was not going according to plan.
