The guild was quite lively on new years eve, this time the silver ranked adventurer decided to join them in celebration.
"Finally orcbolg joins us, always rambling about goblins."
"Yes I am pleased with his presence aswell" Sword maiden said with a blush.
"It's about time you took a break, you have been hunting Goblins all week, I'm sure priestess here is tired too." Cow girl said with a stern tone.
"Ho-ho scaly, it certainly is quite the celebration. Say beard cutter, what say you and I have a little drink off?"
"Suppose so" Goblin slayer replied in his usual monotone voice, this was a special occasion after all, everyone he knew was here, even the hero showed up to thank him for saving her orphanage all those years ago.
"Here ya go, one cup of fire wine" The dwarf handed him a cup filled halfway with his own special brew.
GULP everyone was curious to see the adventurers reaction to the wine, they all knew how powerful it could be.
"Tastes good" Goblin slayer said in a monotone voice
"One Fer me then" the dwarf downed a cup with ease.
"Another?" The dwarf said with a sly grin
"Sure" little did everyone know but the wine was starting to kick in, and he was starting to feel the effects.
"Drink up" the dwarf slid him a cup, and he drank it a little slower but still with ease.
"hmph" Goblin slayer made a very quiet grunt.
They repeated the process a third time, and by now Goblin slayer was sweating.
"I think I have had enough" Goblin slayer spoke as he reached for his helmets buckle, the people around the table didn't really pay attention until he took his helmet off for the first time in awhile.
"Careful beard cutter might attract a wife heh-heh"
That is when some music started playing from a nearby orchestra, "Goblin slayer, would you care to dance?" the Sword maiden was the one who asked the unexpected question they made all the females blush.
The adventurer sat for a moment thinking, the alcohol was affecting his brain, usually he tries to not indulge someone's feelings, especially Sword maiden's, but this time he was a little more relaxed. He sat there before Finally replying "Yes".
The two of them got up, and walked to the center of the guild hall
"Have you ever danced before?" Sword maiden asked
"No, but I have seen people dance "
"I see" Sword maiden let out a soft giggle
"Here" she spoke as she moved his hand onto her hip, and slipped her fingers in between his.
As the two of them danced much to the surprise of everyone in guild, the Sword maiden leaned in, and whispered
"I love you"
Goblin slayer at this point didn't know how to react, so he froze up
"I... see"
"Is that all?" the Sword maiden said playfully
"Yes"
"then you won't mind if I do this..." The Sword maiden's words were muffled as she leaned in for a kiss
everyone at the guild had dropped whatever they were doing, and just stared at the two.
The Spearman spit out his mead
"what the hell?"
"How was that?" the Sword maiden tilted her head waiting for an answer,
after a moment he spoke
"Good"
"I'm glad" the Sword maiden rested her head on his chest plate
