Chapter 3

41. LOVESTRUCK: After their second kiss, Scarlet whispered into Freddy's ear, "I hope we can become more than just friends soon enough."

With that in mind; the vixen kissed Freddy on the cheek, rubbed her fluffy red tail with the white tip under his chin with a coy smile playing on her muzzle and headed back to the barn. To say Freddy was both completely enchanted and lovestruck was an understatement.

42. TWITTERPATED: Freddy was on cloud nine the next day. Every time he would think about Scarlet, he felt like he was walking on air.

43. KNOWLEDGE: Unbeknownst to Freddy, word got out about his and Scarlet's kissing session last night. Now not only did his friends know about the situation at hand; but the whole Barnyard knew too!

44. GOSSIP: Pretty soon gossip was spreading like wildfire throughout the Barnyard about Freddy and Scarlet becoming a couple. A weird one at that.

45. SCREWED: Freddy felt like he was royally screwed now.

46. CONFRONT: How was he going to confront Scarlet at this point?

47. OSTRACIZED: Of course this didn't stop the jeering and ostracization from the other animals. Namely the Jersey Cows and a couple of wisecracks from Pip.

48. COMFORT: "Just ignore them," advised Peck. "Besides they're jerks anyway.Plus I bet they're just jealous of you. I know I am buddy."

Freddy smiled a bit. Peck knew just what to say at the right times.

49. FLOWERS: Freddy decided to go pick a few flowers from Mrs. Beady's garden to give to Scarlet.

50. TREE: After finally picking enough flowers for a small bouquet, the orange ferret looked everywhere for Scarlet; only to find her under a big, shady apple tree.

51. SIT: "Hi Freddy," greeted Scarlet. "Would you like to sit down with me for a while?"

This caused Freddy to blush heavily and swallow hard. But he complied.

52. TALK: "C-can w-we talk for a-a bit S-Scarlet? U-um if you d-don't m-mind that i-is?" stammered Freddy nervously. Scarlet merely nodded and began to listen.

53. QUESTION: After what seemed like hours and hours of talking to each other; when it was really only forty-five minutes, Scarlet had a somewhat shocked expression on her muzzle.

"Y-you want m-me to be...?" she trailed off.

Gulping, Freddy replied in a gentle tone, "My girlfriend. If that's what you want?"

54. STARE: Scarlet gave Freddy an eerey blank stare then she just looked at her paws for awhile. Not saying anything. Sure she was normally quiet. But this was scary quiet.

55. HUMILIATION: Freddy felt a twinge of sadness. He decided to leave Scarlet with her thoughts as well as go before he humiliated himself any further.

56. GIFT: Freddy presented the small bouquet of flowers to Scarlet. Giving another sad smile, the ferret was about to get up from where he was sitting beside Scarlet and leave.

57. PLEAD: "Freddy. Please don't go away. Please stay here with me. Please," Scarlet finally spoke, her soft voice trembling.

58. HOLD: Freddy saw that Scarlet looked like she was about to cry. This caused the jittery ferret more anxiety. So he did the last thing he least expected. Freddy held Scarlet in his arms.

59. ANSWER: Feeling his face flush deeply, Freddy spoke up in a gentle manner,"I-it's okay S-Scarlet. I w-won't go a-away. I'll s-stay right h-here beside y-you."

Scarlet smiled a little bit. "Freddy? I want to answer your question," Scarlet explained softly.

Nodding, Freddy was about to reply but was soon met with the beautiful vixen's lips pressed gently against his own.

After parting from Freddy, having a shy smile on her muzzle and blushing pink, Scarlet whispered, "I would love to be your girlfriend
