"Now call me when you get there, say hello to your dad and Bella, and we will see you in a month" mom said while fussing over me just outside the check in desk,
"I will mom, and I will see you soon" I said trying to sound positive,
"I'm thinking maybe I was wrong for making you go early" mom started to say,
"Renee" Phil warned from behind her as he leaned on the car, I shook my head sightly at Phil,
"Mom, I will be fine, you were right, I can't keep running, I need to face them head on and everyone knows nothing like a wedding to bring family together" I said
lying through my teeth, mom sobbed
"Oh, you're all grown up" mom said before finding a tissue out of her bag, Phil walked over,
"Good acting kiddo, be careful and ring me if I need to hit anyone with my baseball bat
"Phil whispered in my ear as he hugged me, I laughed and nodded,
"Right, I better get going or I will miss my flight, bye mom, bye Phil" I said tearfully as I gave them one last hug and walked through the check in.
'now boarding flight 345, please make your way to gate 12' I heard the intercom say overhead as I sipped my coffee, I grabbed my carry on and headed to the gate, I
glanced out of the window as I stood in line, thinking this would be the last sunshine I would see in a while, I still wasn't sure how I was going to handle
seeing everyone, dad was the first one I had to figure out, he was picking me up from the airport, I hadn't seen him since I left and I was scared of his reaction, Bella was meeting me at dad's tonight, she promised only her and I wouldn't have to face the Cullen's until I was ready, for which I very very
grateful for, Paul and the pack were expecting me tomorrow, I wasn't nervous to see them, expect Paul, just because I didn't want him to shut me out when he saw the reminder of the accident, the people who I was terrified of seeing the most were Jasper and Emmett.
Jasper I wasn't sure how it would go; I was angry for him just leaving and abandoning me without a second thought but overall, I was upset, I thought he understood me and was like me, then for him just to up and leave it destroyed me.
Emmett, I tried to forget about him as much as I could, I was hurt from everyone else leaving, but Emmett, he was my everything, I loved him, he was my rock and saviour all wrapped up in one, when I was sad, he was there, when I was lonely, he was there, I was never second best in his eyes, I would have done anything for him, he events after our birthday party haunt me to this day,
"Iz, come on I'll take you home" Emmett said as he rubbed my arm as I stood by Carlise's office door as he stitched Bella up, I glanced at Bella afraid to leave her, I smiled and nodded, so I turned to Emmett and took his extended hand, we walked in silence to his jeep, before something clicked,
"Em? Jasper? Where is he?" I asked quickly,
"don't worry, he's fine, Alice and Rose have taken him hunting" Emmett explained rubbing the top of my leg, I nodded slowly, still thinking I was a little in shock,
"Em? How come he did not attack me?" I asked quietly, the question had bugged me since the incident, I was right next to Bella when Jasper attacked, Edward had thrown us both back, Bella had been cut on the arm, with me bashing the side of my head,
"I don't know, I'm glad but I honestly don't know, I thought I had lost you for a second" Emmett said softly, for once the big funny outgoing exterior was gone and I saw his fear, I took my hand and turned his face to mine just as he pulled up outside my house,
"Em? I am fine, not one scratch on me, I'm here with you and safe" I said smiling at him, he smiled then frowned as he touched the small cut at the side of my head,
"Oh, don't mind that, blame Edward for that" I said jokily trying to lighten the mood, Emmett slowly smiled,
"Charlie is stood waiting, you go in, I'm going to nip home and see if there is anything that needs doing, I'll be back later" Emmett said, I quickly unclicked my belt,
"Okay shall I leave the window unlocked?" I said, feeling a bit unsure, Emmett quickly gave me a kiss,
"Always babe, I'll be with you forever and always" I found it a bit strange, but Emmett was always one for corny lines, I smiled and hugged him, before I got out of the car.
The memory was a bittersweet that was the second to last time I saw him, he did come that night but not for long and we didn't really speak, then the next day at school he had vanished, I always held a bit of resentment towards Bella, at least she got a goodbye and an explanation no matter how fake it turned out to be now, Emmett just left me, no bye, no letter. Nothing.
The flight went quickly and before I knew it, I was waiting outside,
"Iz!" I heard a familiar voice shout, I spun round trying to find the origin of the voice, I stopped dead in my tracks when I thought I saw the all too familiar figure of Emmett stood over the road, I blinked and just like that it was gone, was he there? It was possible he was a vampire after all,
"Iz! I have missed you kid" Charlie voice pulled me back into the current world as he crushed me into a hug, all my worried suddenly disappeared as I hugged him back,
"I've missed you too, I'm sorry dad" I said tearing up a bit,
"Hey, hey, no crying, it's all fine, your back and that's all I care about" I smiled and held onto him a bit tighter,
"Now come on, Bella has got a cherry pie on the go for you and quite a few people are waiting for you" Charlie said as he grabbed my suitcase, I suddenly panicked and Charlie quickly continued,
"Jake, Sam and Paul and the rest, I didn't realise you were all close, but they have been at the house all day waiting" Charlie explained, I smiled and laughed,
"I'm surprised there is any food left if they have been there all day, they eat like wolves" I laughed to myself,
"Well Sue did send them over with three baskets full" Charlie laughed,
The drive back to Forks was long but comfortable, I never realised how much I had missed Charlie since I had been gone, I found myself glancing over at him, wishing I never left and stayed but at least I was back now, facing my memories if I was ready or not.
