Waking up felt weird being back in this bed, I glanced around my old room, glad it had been redecorated, I let my mind wonder to the Cullens, I knew I couldn't avoid them forever, with the wedding just a month away and with Forks being a small town, I knew I was bound to see them sooner rather than later, the only saving grace with that high school was finished with, I dragged myself out of bed and over the mirror, I glanced at myself trying to find any recognition or the girl who I used to be, my once brown hair was now a lot lighter due to all the sun I had been exposed to, my brown eyes seemed to lack the sparkle and now I had the scar that ran from my thigh down to my ankle, not many people had seen the full scar due to my insecurity about it, I also didn't want to have to remind everyone and receive the pity glances and comments, the cover story was that I had been hiking and fell down a ravine and cut it along the jiggered rock face, although that sounded actually more believable that I had been an idiot and tried to calm a phasing wolf down, I grabbed the cream that sat on the edge of the desk and rubbed it over the scar, the doctors said it would help reduce the swelling and scar tissue.
I sat still staring at myself in the mirror, now dressed and ready for the day
"Iz? I'm off to meet Alice at the flower shop" Bella's voice called from the hallway, I quickly thought for a second before replying,
"do you want me to tag along?" I said trying to silence the inner battle that my brain was currently having with itself,
"I would love that, you sure? I'm not trying to guilt you into anything?" Bellas surprised voice said back,
"no it's fine let me grab my bag, I'll meet you downstairs" I said,
"okay, thanks Iz, I can't wait for you to see them" Bella's voice said full of excitement, I smiled knowing this is the right thing to do, it was Bella's wedding, I couldn't stand back in the shadows, as I stood and grabbed my bag shoving the estentials into the bag I quickly gave myself one last lookover in the mirror before heading downstairs, I took a little extra time walking down, my leg was nearly fulling healed but somethings slowed my down in stairs due to the movement it caused,
"I know dad, I am treading lightly" I heard Bella whispering to my dad in the kitchen, I chose to ignore the comment and walked into the room, dad was sat at the table with a frown on his face with a cup of coffee while Bella was stood by the sink,
"morning family, is that coffee freshily brewed I'm dying for a drink" I said walking over to the cupboard and grabbing my old travel mug,
"yep, made it about five minutes ago, so your off wedding preparation shopping with Bella and Alice" dad said trying to drop it casually but failing, I quickly filled my mug up before turning to him,
"isn't that what twin of the bride does? Helps with the planning, plus someone needs to reign Alice back" I said smiling,
"good luck on that front" Bella grumbled, I laughed and glanced over dads shoulder to have a look what he was reading,
"Riley? Isn't that who went missing last year?" I asked glancing up at Bella concerned, Paul had told about all about Victoria and her army, I almost came back to help but Paul pointed out I was in no condition due to my leg,
"yes, his parents have put out a fresh appeal looking for him, I feel awful that we couldn't find anything" Dad said frowning,
"you did all you could dad, sometimes you can't fix everything" I said softly,
"well just don't you two ever disappear again, I've had enough of that with Bella running off to Italy and you disappearing in the middle of the night" dad said seriously, I frowned,
"dad come on, it's my wedding I won't be running anywhere" Bella said, I glanced round at her and frowned knowing one day she would have to break that promise to protect myself and the Cullens, suddenly a car was beeping outside,
"as inpatient as ever, anyone would think she was planning a wedding" dad joked as he stood up,
"be careful and watch your leg" dad whispered to me, I frowned,
"I'm not a China doll, I'm fine, now come on Bella we better not keep her waiting" I said picking up my jacket off the chair at the side of dad, Bella nodded and grabbed her purse before walking to the door, I took another deep breathe to prepare myself for this moment.
I walked out of the door and saw Alice practically bouncing next to the car, Bella walked in front of me and greeted Alice before I reached them, I saw Alice grinning at me,
"Hi Alice" I chose a simple greeting as I wasn't sure what was the appropriate greeting,
"Iza! I've missed so much, what are you wearing? We need to go shopping, I hope you liked your room, I so happy you chose to come Jasper and Edward didn't believe me when I told them my vision of you flower shopping with us" Alice rambled, I smiled to myself at her rambling,
"Alice take a breather, I'm . . . happy to see you too" I finally said deciding on the correct emotion, we were quickly on our way to the flower shop Alice still rambling about everything from flowers to isle design and finally dresses,
"so I know you didn't bridesmaids but now with Iza here" Alice said, I glanced in the mirror towards Bella as she was shaking her head,
"nope, no other bridesmaids only Iz" Bella said firmly, my eyes widened,
"woah, woah, woah, bridesmaid? I never agreed to that, you know the day is about you, I will just sit at the side" I said quickly, definitely not wanting to be the centre of attention for a second,
"I've already seen it, you will walk down first then Bella and Charlie" Alice interrupted,
"I hate your visions" I grumbled crossing my arms, Bella and Alice laughed.
The flower shop was overwhelming the scents and colours were over stimulating, I wasn't quite sure the point of the trip when Alice already had most likely seen the flowers, then I guessed it was a bridal experience for Bella,
"what colour scheme is the wedding?" I asked while touching the lilies I was currently admiring,
"cream and gold" Bella replied while looking at some large floral displays,
"and your dress?" I asked realizing I hadn't heard anything about her dress at all,
"Alice is designing it along with your bridesmaid dress and the suits" Bella replied with a smile,
"if you were already going to end up dead I would kill you for making me be a bridesmaid" I grumbled, Alice's pixie like laugh echoed from the side of me,
"I've missed your humour Iza, thank you for coming today" Alice said smiling at me, I smiled back,
"well it was selfish on my part as well I have a favour to ask you" I said turning to face her, Bella suddenly turned to us, I guessed intrigued and worried around what I was about to say,
"I want an Alice makeover, head to toe, I need to feel like . . . me again" I said finally holding a lilly I had picked out of a bunch, Bella smiled while Alice was jumping up and down,
"oh Iza, I have so many ideas I have a full closet of mine just waiting for you" I quickly dropped the Lilly,
"Alice maybe it would be better at ours" Bella quickly said,
"no" I said firmly, I picked up the lilly before continuing,
"I can't avoid them forever, your house will be fine, will Esme and Carlise be okay with me coming over?" I asked not wanting to actual ask about the one person I really wanted to know about,
"they miss you, we were all terrified when we got back and Charlie was franticly looking for you" Alice said smiling at me sadly,
"I'm sorry, I know it was implusive" I said putting the flower back,
"Iz? What's brought this on? Two days ago we were dragging you back and now this" Bella asked confused, she was never one for dancing around a subject,
"I need to move on with my life, college starts next year and I can't move forward with all these buried memories" I explained honestly, I saw Bella nod and Alice spoke up,
"Iza? We have managed to get Emmett away so much but our house . . ." Alice said sadly, I nodded, quite grateful that they had done that for me,
"no I know, and I'm thankful you have done that, me and Emmett are complicated, we have so much left unsaid and I need to face that as well" I said honestly as I subconsciously grabbing my necklace,
"that's if Jasper will let him anywhere near you after last night" Alice said seriously, I looked confused between Alice and Bella, Bella blushed and put her head down,
"Bella?" I enquired,
"I'm sorry, I was mad after what you told me, when we got to the house I sort of exploded on Emmett" Bella said sheepishly, I suddenly looked mortified,
"then Jasper heard and then that led to Jasper and surprising Rose all trying to kill him" Alice explained, I looked at Alice horrified,
"Bella! So hang on now everyone knows about mine and Emmetts . . . night?" I asked not quite sure what to call it, Bella wouldn't look me in the face,
"I'm sorry, I'm surprised he manged to keep it from us for so long, Jasper is still fuming and had to go hunting to calm down" Alice explained placing some flowers in the basket, I put my weight onto my right leg which I realised very quickly it was a bad idea so pain shot up my leg, I quickly grabbed the table for support,
"Iz are you okay? Is it your leg? Do we need to go to the hospital?" Bella suddenly panicked,
"Bells, calm down I wasn't thinking and tried to put all my weight onto it, it's fine" I said lifting the jeans a little just to prove to Bella it was okay,
"I still can't believe you chose the company of dogs and that happened" Alice grumbled, I laughed,
"Alice I don't think you can judge" I said honestly,
"well, I know, sorry we didn't exactly do the right thing did we? Where was you when I returned to Forks though since about a month after we left I couldn't see you" Alice asked, I shrugged,
"I was in the hospital and one of the pack was normally with me" I explained, Alice nodded,
"and the dog Paul? Is he a friend or?" Alice enquired like it was just a passing comment about the weather,
"were best friends, he's my everything" I answered honestly, Alice nodded,
"so that's why he got under Emmett's skin so much" Alice seemed to have a revelation, I looked confused towards Bella,
"what happened?" I asked not liking being in the dark, Alice and Bella glanced between each other,
"what happened?" I repeated more firmly,
"well . . . you know how protective they both are for you, Paul had winding Emmett up, then Emmett got upset and pushed Pauls buttons, Paul started to loose it then Jake warned Paul and bought up the. . . incident, Emmett didn't know about it, but once he found out he kind of. . . lost it" Bella explained sheepishly, I looked confused,
"then?" I promoted,
"Emmett attacked Paul" Alice bluntly said, I gasped,
"what are they both okay?" I asked panicked,
"yes, luckily they both heal fast, it took Sam, Jake, Edward and Jasper to part them" Bella said,
"how come no one told me?" I asked quietly,
"Emmett actually" Alice said, I looked up shocked and confused,
"Paul wanted to but Emmett said he had put you through too much and didn't want to add to the stress with you moving back" Alice explained,
"hang on, when was this?" I asked confused, I thought this had happened last year when Emmett crossed the boundary but clearly I was wrong,
"about three hours before you got here, they were helping finish the move when the pack showed up" Bella said, I sighed,
"I'll deal with this later" I said and turned back to the flowers, Alice and Bella seemed to understand I wanted to drop this conversation and went back to picking flowers,
I quickly got my phone out of my bag and texted Paul,
Me and you need to talk, I know about you and Emmett
I quickly sent the text and waited for the reply,
Iz, I wanted to tell you, that bloodsucker made us keep quite I only did because I know how much I had hurt you and how much he had, can we meet up?
I sighed and walked outside the shop,
Not today, I'm wedding shopping with Bella, I need time to think, I think you should just stay away from the Cullens
I pressed send before I realized how stupid I sounded,
I don't plan on being anywhere near the bloodsuckers, you shouldn't too if your smart
The reply made me angry reading it, why did everyone think they knew what was best for me,
"Iz? Are you okay?" Bella's voice came from behind me, I spun round,
"peachy, are the flowers sorted?" I asked cheerfully, Bella nodded,
"all sorted, now shall we go shopping?" Alice said skipping out of the store,
"Actually, can I meet up with you in a little bit?" I said spotting a hair salon across the road, Alice ginned,
"of course" Alice said dragging Bella down the road, I smiled and crossed the road, it was time for a change.
