Hi guys! Here's a new Classroom of the Elite story by me. Had this idea in my head for a while and finally pushed myself to writing it in the wake of series two. Hope you enjoy. :)
"Hey, Horikita!"
Suzanne Horikita cringed upon hearing the familiar, friendly voice which just greeted her. It was a sound that never failed to irritate the cold aloof girl. With a repulsed scowl, she lifted her gaze from the book in her hands - before narrowing her eyes upon seeing who had come to join her at the poolside.
"Whacha doing out here by yourself at the pool?" Kikyō Kushida asked with a bright, cheerful smile.
"That's precisely why I came here!," Horikita muttered, not pleased with having to explain herself to the girl who never gave her any space. "To be by myself."
"Here at the school swimming pool?" Kushida looked around at the calm still water that wasn't filled with laughing students all having fun today. "But it's so quiet out here…"
"It was…" Horikita hissed. "Until you showed up."
"Well, seeing as its just the two of us here!" Kushida beamed at the grumpy girl she was so eager to be friends with. "How about we go for a swim? Just the two of us?!"
"I didn't come out here to swim." Horikita averted her frown back to the book in her hands. "Nor did I come here to socialise. Least of all with you."
"Oh, come on! We have the whole pool to ourselves! It'll be a great chance for the two of us to have some fun together and become friends!"
"When will you get it into that empty head of yours!" Horikita rose to her feet, glaring at the girl she was so eager to distance herself from. "I have no interest in making friends with you."
Horikita turned, preparing to leave the school pool upon realising she was going to get no peace there anymore.
Desperate for her aloof classmate not to leave, Kushida quickly stood up before grabbing her arm. "Wait! Horikita-"
"WILL YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!"
Horikita's voice echoed around the pool hall as As burst out in all her annoyance. She swung around and lashed out with her free arm to push Kushida away.
With a startled cry, the blonde stumbled backwards - before loosing her footing at the edge of the pool. She started to fall towards the water - before grabbing onto the raven-haired girl's school jacket.
Horikita's eyes widened, filling up with horror upon feeling herself before pulled off the pool's edge. Realising what was about to happen, she attempted to tug herself free upon Kushida's grip.
It was no use. She was unable to prevent what was to inevitably happen to the pair of them. The two girls from Class-D fell with a huge, loud splash into the school pool.
Now completely submerged, Horikita and Kushida looked around to find themselves underwater. They were both thrown completely off-guard upon being forced into swimming pool by one another. They kicked and flailed about in the chlorine-filled depths, struggling to push themselves up towards the surface.
Horikita felt her clothes weighing her down whilst a shower of bubbles erupted from Kushida's mouth. They felt themselves sinking even further to the bottom of the pool. They were still trying to shake the shock off themselves so they could swim upwards to the surface - when they heard another span come from overhead.
The girls looked up to see a figure had just dived into the deep water they were both trapped in. He was swimming down towards the pair, clearly intending to rescue them. He wrapped one arm around Horikita's middle before doing the same to Kushida. He began to head up towards the surface, pulling the two girls to safety.
As she gazed up towards the person who was saving her and Kushida, Horikita's eyes narrowed. She had realised she wasn't as alone at the pool as she had believed. Even while looking at her rescuer through the water, she had no trouble seeing who it was. There was no mistaken that muscular figure with those lips which never smiled and those eyes which always held no emotion.
"You know, just because this is the school's swimming pool, doesn't mean you have to wear your school uniform to go swimming in it."
Ayanokōji's tone was as monotone as ever as he spoke. He stared blankly at the two girls he had just saved. He was as saturated at the two of them. Water dripped from the boy's brown hair and red uniform. Even after diving into the depths of the pool to rescue two of his classmates, the mysterious young man from Class D was not showing the slightest hint of feeling anything.
Horikita brushed her wet bangs out of her eyes to frown at the boy. "I came out here to be by myself," she said bitterly. "Turns out I was less alone than I realised."
"We'll, isn't that lucky for you?" Ayanokōji asked dryly. "If I hadn't decided to swing by here, you two may well have drowned."
"That was really mean, Horikita!" Kushida pouted. "Pushing me into the pool!"
"You've got some nerve! Asking to be my friend…" Horikita averted her scowl towards the blonde-haired girl. "Before pulling me into the water with you!"
"Hey! I wouldn't have had to do that if you hadn't pushed me in! I only grabbed you to try to stop myself from falling!"
Horikita raised an eyebrow. She knew Kushida wasn't as sweet and innocent as she made herself out to be. It was highly unlikely the other girl had grabbed her to save herself from falling off the edge - and was more likely to pull her down into the pool with her.
"Well are you two alright now?" Ayanokōji asked.
"Yeah! We're alright now, thanks to you!"Kushida stood up and smiled with a bow before her rescuer. "Thanks for saving us, Ayanokōji!"
"Well don't expect any thanks from me! All I want is to be by myself - and if I'm not going to get that here, clearly I must head somewhere else!"
Still frowning irritably, Horikita turned and stormed off. The soles of her shoes squelched as the soaked girl headed out of the pool hall. She was eager to leave behind the other girl, as well as the young man - who was watching her leave in his mysteriously eerie manner.
Whether you thank me or not makes no difference, Ayanokōji thought darkly, watching Horikita leave and taking a few glances towards Kushida. After all, I was only saving my tools. It wouldn't be good to lose either of you. I never know when I'm next going to need to use you to get what I want.
Thanks for reading this. Hope you enjoyed this and it gave you some laughs. Hope to see you soon as series two of this gripping anime will likely give us writers some more story ideas. :)
Cheerio!
