Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans.
The silence of the night was broken by the sound of glass suddenly shattering. The window of one of the buildings of Jump City was smashed to pieces. A shadowy shape slid through the hole he had made in the glass, ready to loot the contents inside the store he was breaking into.
As he landed on his feet to stand inside the building's main room, Red-X peered through his mask at all of the goods surrounding him - which he intended to steal for himself.
He had broken into the donut store.
All around him, glistening in the moonlight which shone through the window he had smashed, were hundreds and thousands of donuts.
"Oh yeah!" Red-X said eagerly to himself as he gazed around himself. "Glazed donuts, sugar donuts, sprinkled donuts, jelly donuts, chocolate donuts… All right here - and all mine for the taking!"
"Not tonight, Red-X!"
The masked crook froze upon hearing a voice coming from behind him. He slowly turned around to find he was no longer along in the store. Facing him with fierce determined expressions were five young superheroes he recognised all too easily.
"Well, well, well!" Red-X sneered. "It's a little late for you kids to be out playing this time of the night."
"The Teen Titans are not here to play!" Robin glared. "We are here to capture you!"
"We shall not let you get away with this!" Starfire hollered. "Illegally breaking into the store which sells the circular cakes with the holes in their centres!"
"Trying to steal donuts from here?!" Beast Boy roared. "Not gonna let you do that, dude! Not when I ordered a big boxes delivery from here to our tower!"
"Not to mention you broke the window here, man!" Cyborg looked around at the shards of shatter glass on the store floor. "Why can't you crooks just use the door like any normal person?"
"Because this is no ordinary person," Raven muttered. "This is Red-X."
"And it's our job to stop him!" Robin thundered. "Titans, go!"
On the orders of their leader, the five superheroes sprung into action. They launched themselves at Red-X, intending to capture him and bring him down before he made off with any stolen baked goods.
But the mysterious menace had been expecting that. He was all too ready to fight back against the Titans. No way was he going to let them foil his plans to rob the donut store that night.
Robin made the first move. He pulled out his staff and swung it in Red-X's direction. His masked rival was too quick for the leader of the Titans. He was able to leap out of the way of each blow, resulting the his staff only succeeding to strike several stands and shelves, sending donuts flying everywhere.
Cyborg switched his mechanical arm for his cannon one. He fired several sonic blasts towards Red-X - who managed to easily avoid each blast before throwing a jelly donut towards the half-robot. It landed straight in Cyborg's cannon, blocking it up and leaving it unable to fire any more shots - much to his bewilderment.
The dark atmosphere of the donut store was suddenly filled with lights as Starfire began shooting eyeblasts towards Red-X. With his ever-quick agility, he was easily able to dodge these too as he threw a pair of sprinkled donuts at the Tamaranean. They stuck over her green eyes, leaving the stunned alien princess looking as if she were wearing a pair of enormous dough spectacles.
A loud thunderous noise erupted through the store. Beast Boy was charging towards Red-X, having transformed into a large buffalo. He darted towards the young criminal, ready to attack him with his enormous horns - only to miss him as he crashed into a row of shelves on the wall instead. He staggered back from the damage he had caused, his horns now hanging several donuts looped around them.
"It's no good, kids! Ya just can't stop me!" Arrogance filled Red-X's tone as he held up a single glazed donut in his hands. "When I'm through with you lot, every one of these donuts will be mine! I won't just be eating them, but I'll be using them as my new weapons. Nothing can stop me with these babies! Not even the Teen Titans-"
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"
Red-X's boasting was cut off as he heard Raven chanting her summoning spell behind him. He swung around to take on the half-demon - but for once, was far too late.
There was an ominous cracking as the ceiling tiles above him crumbled and split apart. A large hole burst through them to let a huge crate come plunging down. It landed with a loud crash right on top of Red-X, knocking him out as it burst open, sending the donuts it had held inside flying everywhere.
With Red-X unconscious, the Titans cheered triumphantly. Thanks to Raven, they had managed to foil his criminal plan and defeat him.
"Well done, Raven!" Robin congratulated her. "You stopped Red-X!"
"Alright!" Cyborg added with a wide grin. "Way to go, Raven!"
"You are the girl!" Starfire cheered jubilantly.
"Thanks, guys." Raven smiled humbly at her friends. "I just happened to remember that unlike most donut stores, this one keeps its stock upstairs instead of at the back."
"Oh yeah, that's right!" Beast Boy grinned. "How did you know that?"
Raven's gaze darkened at the shapeshifter. "Because I recall the last time I was here, I found you in the upstairs storeroom, stuffing your green face!"
Beast Boy's grin disappeared. He glared at the half-demon who was already ready to rip him a new one - even when he deserved it.
"Well, our work here is done!" Robin said, standing over the unconscious criminal they had just apprehended. "Let's go put Red-X where he belongs!"
"Uh, Robin? Are you sure we can do that right away?"
"Huh?" The mask over Robin's eyes concealed the confusion they were filling with. "What d'you mean, Cyborg?"
Cyborg gazes around at the thousands donuts that had been knocked out of place during the battle with Red-X. They were now piled in heaps everywhere, making the place look very untidy.
"I don't think the store owner is gonna be happy to come here tomorrow morning to find his shop looking like this."
"Agreed." Starfire nodded. "We cannot leave this store scattered in such an untidy state or the merchant shall be very unhappy."
"It's true," Raven murmured. "This place ain't gonna clean itself."
"We're heroes - and we gotta do what's right!" Saliva dropped from Beast Boy's tongue as he thought of exactly how he was going to clear up this mess of savoury treats. "Right, Robin?!"
Robin sighed. Knowing his teammates as well as he did, he could tell exactly what they were thinking. A defeated smile crossed his face. He could see no other way around this new problem the five of them had on our hands.
"I was wrong; our work here is not done," he said wearily, shaking his head. "We've got a long night ahead of us here. Titans, go!"
"Oh boy!" Cyborg smiled cheerily, munching away on the jelly donut in his robotic hand. "These are good!
"Glorious!" Starfire giggled sweetly as she nibbled away on a sugar donut. "I just love the nuts of dough!"
"To think Red-X was gonna take these all for himself!" Beast Boy grinned broadly, his face smudged from the chocolate donut he'd just stuffed through his mouth. "We couldn't let that happen!"
"I guess heroes and villains do have one thing in common…" Robin said thoughtfully as he held up the glazed donut in his gloved hand. "Everybody loves a good donut."
The Teen Titans laughed heartily as they proceeded to eat the donuts at had littered the store in the battle against Red-X. The masked villain lay motionlessly under a huge pile, still out cold. Now that he was unconscious and defeated, he was a problem no longer. There was no more fighting in the Jump City donut store that evening…
…except for when Beast Boy and Cyborg began arguing over a sprinkled donut they both had their eyes on. Needless to say, Raven was able to put a stop to their bickering - in a very brutal way…
The end.
