Izuku opened his window to feel the late spring sun as he coasted down the wide road. Traffic was light and he was enjoying the beautiful change of landscape. The next song I Love You Will Still Sound The Same by Oh Honey played on his playlist, he smiled and turned up the music.

Passing the last of the densely packed cities, Izuku began seeing the smaller villages and hillside towns. Taking a deep breath, he knew he had made the right decision, he was scared, but his mom had told him, if he wasn't scared, he wasn't living. The music stopped as he heard his phone ring. The display showed Momo. He hit the answer button. "Momo I'm already gone, stop crying."

"Fuck you, Kuku."

"Don't call me Kuku, my name is Izuku. Are you really that upset at me? You can come visit."

"Oh, I know, believe me, I'll be there soon, I got it okayed by the editor in chief."

"Really? That's great, wait," Izuku frowned at the display, "it's not because you want to visit, can you get off my back? I promised the book would be in your hands as soon as I settle in my new house."

"That's why I didn't set the trip right away, you and I both know I'll be coming to get it live." Momo sounded like she was pouting.

"You are so cold hearted, I miss one damn deadline," Izuku laughed, "and you act like I've been doing it my whole life."

"I read an article Izuku, once a writer misses one deadline, they are 93.6% likely to do it again."

"What kind of bullshit is that Momo?"

"I'm just upset, my favorite author is moving away, no more long lunches and talking about ideas, fuck Izuku now I am sad."

"At least I'm going somewhere nice, when you come to see me, you can take a nice holiday."

"Fuck you Kuku, you know I would rather die than breathe in all that romantic air."

"How did you get to be a top romance agent Momo? You are the most unromantic person I know it really is a miracle how you have a nose for romance." Izuku smiled, he had known Momo almost seven years now, she never ceased to amaze him.

"I liked it better when you were young and were scared of me Izuku, why did you have to go and grow up?"

"Sorry Momo, it was bound to happen, last I checked kids get old, speaking up which you must be ancient, weren't you already in your late twenties when we met?"

"I hate you Kuku, you better get that new book to me on time, I'll see you in six weeks, I'm staying with you and I expect five-star lodging, so warn me if not."

The line went dead.

"Oh Momo." Izuku giggled, he had met Momo the summer he turned fifteen. He remembered when she had introduced herself, he was convinced she was a dragon that had come to life. A shy boy, he was used to his shy mom and this woman was a whole new creature. He had met Momo because he had been encouraged by his teacher to enter a writing contest. The junior section had already closed to entries, so his teacher told him to enter the open category, which was romance. Izuku had laughed but since his mom had forced him to watch romance movies with her since he was a kid, he knew the plot formula. He had decided to write a boys love teen romance, it was full of first love angst and long kisses, everything he wished he had in his life. To his dismay the romance won, on a lot of levels it had been uncomfortable for him. The prize was an interview with Romantic Reads, the largest publisher in the romance genre. At fifteen he had to stare down Momo and discuss a BL romance that reflected his own desires, he had blushed the entire time. Plus, he had to come out to his mom, since she was looking at his book too. It had pretty much ranked up there was the worst possible scenario for a gay fifteen-year-old, ever. Things only got stranger when RR wanted to publish his book. Momo helped him polish it up and it was on the market within a few months. It was ranked the number one teen bl love story within three weeks of publication and knocked two open romance books off their top spots. They had signed Izuku to a several book deal. Thankfully his mom had suggested he write under a pen name and helped him choose Kuku Shimura. The impression the book was penned by a female made them even more successful according to Momo. At fifteen he began his undercover life as a BL romance author, strange considering he had yet to experience anything close to a romance. His phone rang again, it was Momo.

"I'm going to forgive you for that attack on me, but I did forget one thing, editor told me to tell you he wants more sex in the next one."

Izuku blanched, "um, okay, I thought I put more in the last book."

"He touched his hard member and it quivered? C'mon Izuku, I barely got that out of you."

Blushing, Izuku took a deep breath. "Why can't I stay with teenage love stories? I write those very well."

"Do you want your readership to grow? You'll have a longer shelf life if you bump it up to a full sex romance. Izuku your twenty-two, have sex already and write from experience."

"Momo, that isn't funny, I've had sex!" Izuku yelled.

"Not that shit Neito did to you Izuku! Real sex, you know, where you orgasm so hard the earth moves." She teased.

"Momo! Leave him out of this. I'm moving to the romance capital this town hosts more weddings than any other area. I am going to drown in love up there and write beautiful romances with sex scenes." Izuku's heart pounded, sex scenes were so hard for him to write, especially since he never really understood the hoopla. Sex was okay but earth moving? Izuku snorted not even close.

"Okay, okay, you get your heart broken and you run off, fine, I look forward to reading the next book."

The line went dead.

Izuku sighed, leaving the city had been a big decision. Momo was right, he had wanted things to work out so badly, he had overlooked a lot in his relationship with Neito, even the sex. Izuku grimaced, when Neito married that woman, he had missed his first deadline. Feeling emotionless, he couldn't even begin to try to write a romance novel. When he still had not written four months later Momo demanded he go on vacation. There had been a small blurb about a town called the romance capital, it had sounded funny to him so he had booked a hotel but the town had turned out to be enthralling. If anything could jump start a romance novelist's career, it was this place. Izuku had decided to take the plunge and use the money his mom had left him to buy a house in the small town. Watching the market, he had seen a beautiful house listed for sale on the website for a local real estate company. It was the kind of home his mom had dreamed of buying her whole life. After driving up one time for a viewing, he knew it was perfect, signing the paperwork and handing over the money, the house was his. Now with the few belongings that fit in his one-bedroom apartment, he was moving into a gorgeous old three-bedroom home on a huge orchard. His stomach flipped in excitement, the air coming through his open window smelled clean and sweet, he was ready for his new adventure. Bypassing the town's main drag, he went straight to his new house. Parking in the wide driveway, he stepped out and stretched. He looked around the quaint neighborhood, this was what he was looking for in life, quiet tree lined streets and beautiful homes with white picket fences, he smiled. Walking around to the front he noticed a large black truck parked on the street, a blonde man was leaning on the vehicle watching him.

Katsuki watched as the small vehicle pulled into the driveway. He wondered if this was the fucking extra that had bought the house. Clenching his jaw he waited, he needed to be calm. The small green haired man that popped out of the vehicle was a surprise, he looked young, too young to buy a huge rundown home. Maybe he was an assistant or something?

"Can I help you?" Izuku walked slowly up to the blonde and the truck. He was a big guy, built solid, like his truck.

"Yeah, are you the new owner?" Katsuki kept his voice clipped.

Grinning wide, Izuku stuck out his hand, "I am, I just drove up today. The name is Izuku Midoriya"

"Moving here for the first time?" Katsuki ignored his hand. He could see the kid's expression falter, he pulled back his hand awkwardly.

"Uh, yes, I visited here once and fell in love with the place." Izuku could tell this guy was not here to be social. "Uh, did you need something?" The blonde handed him a large brown envelope. "What's this?" Izuku turned it over in his hands.

"I'd like to buy the property from you."

"What?" Izuku looked at the blonde in confusion. "I - I just bought it though."

"Right and you've bought a place that's not right for you," Katsuki glanced at his small car. "I'm guessing you're not much of a handyman?"

"Um, well I've only had an apartment and my mom always handled stuff like that before."

Katsuki clicked his tongue the kid was an idiot. "Oi, you're in over your head Deku, this place needs someone that can take care of it properly. Sell it to me and go find a place more suited to you." Red eyes sparked as he glared at the green haired kid.

Izuku normally hated confrontation but he'd only been here a minute and now another asshole like Neito was ordering him around. Anger leapt through his veins like fire, his heart pounding Izuku pulled himself up to his full height as he glared back at the massive blonde looking down on him. "I'm perfectly capable of taking care of this property, I wouldn't buy something I couldn't manage." Izuku shoved the envelope into the blonde's chest. Backing up he clenched his fists to hide his trembling hands, "Thanks for the welcome to the neighborhood," Izuku bit out sarcastically, unsteadily he turned to walk away.

The kid was scared, at least he was trying to stand up to him. Katsuki felt bad for a moment but fuck, the house had been promised to him and losing it to some Deku was beyond irritating, hell he was doing him a favor. Bakugou needed to break him fast and run him out. Grabbing the kid's wrist, Katsuki threw him against the truck and leaned into him, face inches from his. "I don't think you understand that I'm asking you nicely." Katsuki shoved his hips against the kid pinning him, he brought up a knee pushing his legs open. The kid sputtered and squirmed.

Heart now pounding in fear, Izuku tried to move away, the hard metal of the truck's handle dug into his head. The blonde's body was rock hard and his knee was pressing up against him intimately.

Katsuki smiled watching him struggle, he was a good-looking kid. Reaching down he pulled out Deku's shirt and slid the envelope up inside slowly, laughing as he saw the red blush race up from the kid's neck to his freckled cheeks, green eyes wide with embarrassment.

Izuku turned his face as the blonde leaned in so close he could smell the mint gum he was chewing. The rough envelope slid up his skin until the corner poked out the neck of his shirt and dug into Izuku's chin. "Who are you!?" Tears sprang into his big green eyes. Blinking them back hard, he pushed fiercely, yelling this time, "leave me alone!" Izuku tried to get the blonde off but the hard muscled chest didn't flinch, a cocky grin spreading across his face instead.

Finally backing up, Katsuki chuckled. Walking around the driver's side he swung himself up into the truck, the engine roared to life as Deku scrambled from the sidewalk onto the lawn. Watching the blushing greenette run into the yard, Katsuki slid down the window. "I like you Deku, you're no pushover, for that I'll give you ten days to sell to me."

The truck drove off down the road.

"What the fuck was that?" Izuku watched as the truck turned down the street, he noticed the personal license plate KCHN. The back of the truck sported a magnetic ad, Katsuki Construction & Historical Needs. "Kacchan," Izuku whispered, so that was it, this guy probably wanted to flip the property and make some money. Izuku stood for a moment trying to stop his shaking, he had never been so afraid. Pulling out the envelope, Izuku looked inside, it was a contract of purchase for the home. The anger returned, storming up to the front, Izuku unlocked the door and then stopped, he didn't want that lunatic Kacchan screwing up his first moments in his new home. He shut his eyes pausing, he took a deep calming breath. Stepping into the main hall, he smiled, the house was as amazing as he remembered. The hall ran the full length of the home, a staircase on the left that led to the three large bedrooms and big bath, on the right was the living room with an old fireplace. Walking in further he saw the family room on the left, peeking in he admired the big picture windows that looked over the overgrown apple orchard in the back. Continuing down the hallway he walked into the best part of the house, the kitchen. It had been a sitting room and kitchen once but someone had done a do it yourself remodel and made it all one room. It was old and the appliances looked suspect, but everything worked and the large space was magnificent. Huge picture windows in this room also looked down on the apple orchard. Izuku touched the windows, they were all original from what he had researched, the rippling in the glass showed their age.

"Hello!" A voice called from the door.

Izuku poked his head back into the hallway, his eyes wide with panic, was he back?

"Hello?" A pink haired woman stepped into the open front door. "Heeelllooo? I saw you come in."

Now what? Izuku forced a smile and walked down the hall, "Uh hi, can I help you?"

"Oh hey, wow look at you, you're just a kid, I'm Mina, neighbor on the other side," she pointed across his driveway, "the little blue house. My living room window looks right into your front yard." She laughed as she walked down the hallway bags in her hands, she pushed past Izuku into the kitchen.

Was this whole town looney? "Um, what are you doing?" Izuku's heart was pounding again, suddenly this town was feeling less quaint and scarier.

"Just putting stuff in your fridge, figured you didn't have time to stop at the store and the market in town is just for tourists, you've gotta go into the next town for a real food store. I guessed what you'd like, just the basics." Laying the bags on the wood countertops she opened the refrigerator and began unloading various items into the drawers and shelves.

"The electricity is on? That's a relief, I was going to call." Izuku noticed the light in the fridge was on.

"We all knew you were coming today, Ochako let us know, she already had Yuga turn on the electricity down in the city, your gas too."

"Didn't I need to confirm my name and address?"

Mina looked at him, "why? Ochako had everything from your paperwork. Also, we're all glad you used her, sometimes these out of towners use their own agents, pissy ugly things that come in and act like we're stupid as shit or something. It meant a lot that you used a local person."

"I'm glad," Izuku hadn't even realized he could have used someone else, he bit his lip, might as well keep that to himself.

"Where's your stuff?"

"Oh!" Izuku pulled out his phone and texted the driver. "It looks like they should be here soon."

Popping open two beers, Mina handed one to Izuku. Walking to the picture window she sat down on the wooden bench that lined the wall underneath. She eyed Izuku, he was really young, they had all thought a couple was buying the house at first but when Ochako reported a single man, the entire single female population had a full-blown conniption fit. Looking at him now, it was only going to get worse, he was really good looking. Adorable, in a handsome way, big green eyes, lean but strong and the most beautiful green curls that framed his face. She could tell he was a bit naive and probably shy. "I saw you had the privilege of meeting Katsuki."

The blush rushed back up into freckled cheeks. "Oh um, yeah, who is he?"

"He's a local, like me, born and raised, he left for university, couldn't wait to get away, small town cramps your style that way." Mina drank from her beer and looked over the back yard, wow, it looked like shit. "He probably would've stayed away, but his parents died, it was hell, he went back to school and then came back pretty quickly. I think he was lost for a bit," Mina looked down at her beer, "but he set up shop as a home needs expert, got his license and became a contractor. He's smart, he specialized in historical homes and started doing well. You bought the home he's had his eye on for a long time."

Izuku sat next to Mina and held the beer, "that's not my fault that I acted first." he mumbled, he always felt a kindred spirit with anyone that lost their parents young, even assholes. When his mom had passed, he had lost everything.

"You impressed the hell out of him, I can tell you that." Mina elbowed Izuku.

Jerking back Izuku looked at the friendly woman, she was acting like he had known her his entire life. "I didn't get that impression, more like he's threatening me to sell to him."

"Ha, you stood up to him, shoved that right back in his face," Mina giggled, "sometimes it pays to be nosy, seeing the look on his face when you slammed that envelope back in his chest was priceless, I can't wait to tell everyone." She laughed into a sigh. "He's too good looking, he's got all the women, well except for me, bent around his pinky, gets away with murder."

"M-murder?" Izuku stared wide eyed at the pink haired woman.

"Yeah, if he really did kill someone, I bet they'd line up to bury the body." She glanced at the kid, he looked terrified, "I'm kidding you Izuku, geez, we're not a bunch of psychos." She tipped her beer, "well not all of us."

"Speaking of which," Izuku set down his beer, he crossed to the counter and picked up the envelope. Using all his strength he began to rip it in half, it was too thick, he grunted as it stopped.

"Here," Mina stood up and took the other half, the two pulled until it was ripped down the middle.

"That felt good," Izuku laughed as he tossed it in one of the empty shopping bags. "What can he do if I won't sell to him? Sit around a stew, just because he wants to make a quick buck."

Mina raised her brows, "What?"

"Isn't he one of those types? Wants to flip this place, make some money."

"Oh no, he loves this place, his great-grandfather was born here years ago, family lost it in some land fight, he's been trying to buy it back ever since his parents died. You're pretty much fucked but he can't legally take the property from you, just hope you don't have any issues, he's the only affordable one around that can fix this place if there's a problem."

"Oh, that's not good," Izuku pulled out a folder from his bag, and handed Mina a list. "Repair work Ochako recommended after close." At the top of the page, she had listed two recommendations for repairs, Katsuki Bakugou and Shoto Todoraki.

"Oh, I guess you could use Shoto, but he's three times more expensive and is booked out for a year, he lives a few towns over, not many of us like him."

Izuku laughed, "worse than Kacchan?"

"Kacchan?"

"The license plate."

Mina laughed, "Oh, shit, that's funny, never thought of that, yeah, Katsuki's just grumpy, he's a really good person, he wouldn't hurt anyone."

"Uh I beg to differ," Izuku rubbed the back of his head where the handle had dug into him.

"Well, when he's not all worked up, he has a temper, but even then, he's fair. His bids are always more reasonable than Shoto, he does it because he loves the work. Shoto, it's a family business, his dad is a driver and he's about the money."

"I guess I don't really have a choice, if Kacchan hates me, I have to call this Shoto guy to see if he can help me."

"Hello Izuku Midoriya?" The moving truck foreman called from the front door.

Izuku climbed into bed, he was tired, the rest of the afternoon he had veered between ecstatic about his new place, freaking out over Kacchan and confusion over the increasing number of people showing up in his house. Mina had helped him unpack he had figured another pair of hands couldn't hurt. Then every time he came down the stairs a new person was standing in his kitchen, unpacking, or in the living room. At some point he was sure he saw Ochako but by then his house was so packed with people, he had hidden in his bedroom and unpacked there. Later he had emerged and the house was empty, every box was gone, his belongings set up, someone had even hung his artwork. The kitchen was put away and whoever had done the unpacking had been smart, he would have chosen the same places for everything. "What a strange town." Izuku knew that they were being helpful, well besides Kacchan, all seemed genuinely happy to meet him. Izuku leaned back into his pillow, at least he was unpacked, he would just need to find a storage place for his books, he figured he could hide them in the attic. Green eyes flew open. "OH FUCK!" Jumping out of bed and flying down the staircase, Izuku turned on the front living room light. He looked at his bookcase. There along the shelf were the thirty-four novels penned by Kuku Shimura, someone had unpacked them and placed them carefully on his bookcase. Izuku groaned as he sank on the floor, whoever did this was probably having a field day with that tidbit of information. "Fuck," he breathed, knowing this place, the fact that he was gay would be out by the end of the week.
