Naruto POV
I was standing next to the Kazekage with a mask over my face, waiting for the visitors from the sound village. Temari, Gaara hung on the ceiling with their chakra concealed. Both also had mask on to conceal their identity. Baki and Fly stood next to the door in their Anbu attire with closed eyes searching for chakra signatures that were approaching. Dragon stood on the other side of the Kazekage while Cat was standing in the far corner with his existence practically erased. Akira was sitting on my shoulder playing a bit with my hair.
It was now almost noon, the time when we were expecting our guests. And soon enough Fly and Baki opened their eyes signaling us that there were people approaching the office. We heard someone knocking on the door and after Rasa had called them in our suspicions were confirmed. In front of me stood Orochimaru clad like a Kage with black highlights opposed to the yellow of the Kazekage's attire. After him Kabuto entered the room and the last one that entered the room was the Kazekage's secretary who gave Rasa a small scroll and left the room immediately afterwards.
"Good day Lord Kazekage. It is a honor to visit you.", Orochimaru said with a bow. I knew that this visit was just the preparation to kill the Kazekage since he had taken over Rasa's post in the other timeline and had lead the sand together with the sound into the invasion of Konoha at the chunin exams. And because of that I was not surprised at the private meeting that Orochimaru proposed after Rasa had greeted him back. The Kazekage looked at me with a questioning look in his eyes. I shook my head slightly, saying that I did not think that a private meeting with Orochimaru would be a good idea. Kabuto narrowed his eyes at me while Orochimaru forced a smile onto his lips. "I don't think that this many people should be present for what I want to discuss with you.", he said with a look at me, Dragon, Baki and Fly. The Kazekage looked at his guards and smiled at the Otokage. "I ensure you that my guards can be trusted.", Rasa said while going through a few papers. "Well, if you insist. I wanted to talk about the upcoming chunin exams in Konoha. As you may know I don't exactly like my old village and I was maybe planning on visiting my old friend, the current Hokage, and maybe invade his village along the way.", Orochimaru said with sugar sweet voice. "And you wanted to have Sunagakure as reinforcement with you…", Rasa concluded with narrowed eyes. "Yeah that was what I am here for.", the snake sannin replied nodding. "Why exactly would I want to do that? I mean we still have not fully recovered from the third shinobi war, why would I try to attack Konoha without having the optimal number of Shinobi?", the Kazekage asked. Orochimaru gritted his teeth at this answer. "It could have been so easy for you. You just had to say 'yes' and this whole deal would have been over.", Orochimaru finally sighed, causing me to ready myself.
Orochimaru suddenly launched forward with a sword coming out of his mouth. But because I was ready for it I managed to deflect the sword away from the Kazekage. The sword went into Dragon's shoulder drawing a pain filled cry from the Anbu. The Kazekage jumped from his seat and Baki and Fly went away with Rasa. Meanwhile Akira had jumped down and grew into her larger form. Temari Gaara and Cat had engaged Kabuto and were continuously landing hits which were negated by Kabuto's fast healing. Orochimaru saw that and looked at me and Akira with calculating eyes. Then he threw Kunai at me and Dragon and jumped towards Kabuto. Dragon and I got out of the way of the Kunai but before we could do anything he had thrown another set. This time it was not aimed at us but at the backs of our three comrades who were fighting Kabuto. Gaara's sand defended him against the Kunai thrown at him, while Cat seemed to have sensed it and evaded it with a simple jump to the side. Temari on the other hand had no ability that protected her and was not trained to sense danger and we were forced to watch the Kunai go straight through her body, ripping through her bones and tissue like through paper before hitting the wall. Orochimaru had meanwhile reached Kabuto and they were both grinning at us. Gaara cried out in rage and sand started to collect around him as he let Shukaku take over. Orochimaru realized that he had no chance against a jinchuuriki in his tailed beast form so he took Kabuto by the arm and they sunk down into the floor. Temari somehow was still standing and was now slowly collapsing. Gaara didn't seem to notice that our enemies had fled as he continued transforming. I jumped to Temari's side and caught her as she was about to fall to the ground. She looked at me with a shocked expression on her face and moved her mouth as if she wanted to say something but no words escaped her lips.
Somehow I managed to keep a cool head and saw that cat was treating dragon's shoulder before pouring chakra into a seal on my wrist and summoning one of my three pronged Kunai. "Akira take Gaara to the hospital.", I commanded my tiger friend before flashing away to the hospital hoping to have enough time while simultaneously thanking myself for creating the marker at the hospital, even though the reason for it was not a very happy one.
Flashback no Jutsu!
I was waiting for Dragon, Fly and Cat to come back to our meeting point when I noticed someone jumping in my direction. "Naruto! Get your Jutsu ready we need to get to Suna fast!", I heard Fly's worried voice. I was a bit stunned by the fact that the Anbu captain let her emotions be heard so easily but when I saw them I understood it fully. Fly and Dragon had a good chunk of their clothes burnt and also had cuts and burn marks all over their bodies. But what was really worrisome was the condition Cat was in. Dragon was constantly trying to heal his partner which obviously didn't really help his wounds. If I didn't know that Cat was the third member of the Anbu team I would not have been able to identify him. His whole face and most of his body was burnt and one of his feet was missing the front part of it. I almost puked at the sight but I could barely keep it together while drawing one of the three pronged Kunai and focusing on the marker in front of Suna's gates. Once I had found it I ran towards the others to meet them halfway. As soon as I was with them I laid my hand dragon's shoulder and reached out to take Fly's hand before teleporting us to Sunagakure.
At the gates the guards went into defensive positions but as soon as they recognized Fly's and Dragon's uniforms they became worried seeing the state cat was in. "Dragon go and head for the hospital but try not to cause Cat anymore pain. I'll run ahead and alarm the medics to prepare an emergency room.", Fly said with stern voice before taking off into the village. "Fox lead the way, make sure noone is in the way.", Dragon said while taking Cat onto his back still continuing to infuse healing chakra into Cat's system. I nodded and we took off through the narrow streets of the sand village with me shouting for the people to make a path for us. Amazingly it worked an we got to the hospital in less than two minutes but Cat was not doing well. His condition worsened every second. Luckily Fly was waiting for us at the entrance of the hospital and lead us to the emergency room where the medics were already waiting. Dragon laid cat on the operating table and immediately a nurse came and shooed us out of the room closing the doors behind us.
While waiting for the doctors to come out and tell us about Cat's condition I took a few minutes to go and get the scroll where my father had explained how to create the seals for the Hiraishin. Fly gave me a wired look when I came back reading the scroll.
After a few hours I had understood the basics and had started to create a seal in front of the emergency corridor using the instructions in the scroll. Fly watched me closely while I was applying the seal. Once I had finished the seal and I sat down on one of the seats in the waiting room Fly approached me and sat down next to me. "What does that seal do?", she asked curiously trying to study the seal which was slowly fading away. "That's a Hiraishin marker. It marks a place where I can teleport to.", I explained watching the black seal slowly vanish. "Why did you mark the hospital?", the Anbu asked with a raised eyebrow. "I mean you already have marked Suna's gates.", she reasoned. I was slightly confused. "Did you not see how long we took to get here by foot, not to mention the strain we had to put on Cat. It's a miracle that he even survived that long. I mean I don't know when he got injured but I know that you took around thirty minutes to get to our meeting point after I had felt the explosion which was probably the end of the fight. And then the few minutes we needed to get to the hospital might have been enough to push Cat over into death's hands. So I'm not going to let that happen again if I am able to save someone I won't risk that chance by wasting any time to get here.", I explained, trying to hold back my emotions since I still represents the Anbu still wearing my mask. Fly nodded and wanted to reply something before a door in the emergency corridor opened and a doctor came out with sweat rolling down his forehead and bloodied gloves and lab coat. Dragon, Fly and I looked at the doctor expecting the worst. Because of that we were overjoyed to hear that they had managed to save Cat although it was not easy. The doctor said that if we had taken seconds longer it could have been different.
Flashback no Jutsu Kai!
I sat in the same chair waiting for a doctor to come out of the operating room where I had brought Temari. Gaara and Akira sat next to me with the Kazekage was walking around obviously at the end of his nerves. Our heads turned towards the door as it opened and the doctor came out. "She made it.", was the only thing the doctor said before he went away, probably to get something to drink. Gaara and Rasa hugged each other in celebration before going in to see if Temari was awake yet. I smiled at the two of them and at Akira dismissing her. As she went back to the realm of tigers I waited for Gaara and his father to come out before I went in. As they came out Rasa went towards me. "You have the next few days off, let Temari recover. After that you will already be heading out to Konoha.", he said before going away. Gaara had already went away so I was alone as I entered Temari's room.
