What do you do when your last name is McMahon But Not By Birth. It was given to you and you choose a different path for yourself. The family business was something you want to be apart of but not the office but as a performer. You want to do what your idols do But don't want anyone to know what your last name is? Not to mention you aren't allowed to get involved with a wrestler by any means. This was Kennedy McMahons issue.
Kennedy McMahon is the youngest daughter of Vince and Linda McMahon. They had adopted her from an Orphanage in Italy on their twenty fourth wedding anniversary in 1987. Kennedy was placed at the orphanage after her teenage mother had died in child birth and neither family wanted her. Linda was in love with her since then. It took some convincing with Vince and talking to their older kids. But they would end up taking her home.
The Orphanage had been calling her Francesca since she had no name and she need one. The McMahon would name her Kennedy Francesca Rene McMahon. Being the youngest it meant she got spoiled the most and usually got her way. Especially when she hit the teenage years that would hit them the hardest and she was teaching them all this technology.
While the family was on the road Kennedy and Linda would be left at home most of the time. Kennedy started interning at the office once she hit 16 during the summers just to grow her education on the business. Kennedy had no interest in being in the office for long because she would end up getting a scholarship to UCLA and possible peruse her dreams to train to be a wrestler.
Kennedy would of course go to all the California shows she could given her class schedule her training schedule and other activities that she had to hide because her family would freak out. This is also where she would meet her on again off again boyfriend CM Punk. He just knew her as Francesca Rene until he heard a ringtone he set for Vince on his phone and when he went to answer it he realized it was her phone. CM Punk just thought she was a hooters waitress who college student just training and doing some ROH house shows to get the experience. Kennedy would fess up eventually but she swore him not to tell because they didn't even know.
Now Kennedy is 20 and doing modeling as well as her job and college and wrestling as well as have a super secret relationship with CM Punk. Her birthday was nearing which was the royal rumble on the other side of the continent. She hadn't celebrated a birthday with the family since she was 18 and she never wanted to leave California. But Bruce Pritchard who had known her since she was a kid and she called uncle Bruce had gotten a video from one of her trainers at ROH and saw some footage of her and punk working off each other when he would go do a promotion for them with permission.
Kennedy and Punk were laying on the couch cuddled together watch one of the crap reality show she watched. She was wearing his hoodie laying on his chest enjoying this safe place where it was just them and no one knew.
Her phone started to ring with a familiar wwe ringtone that started with "OH I Love You. " Punk just shook his head and turned the tv on mute and kissed her head getting up.
Kennedy gave him a soft smile because she hated he left any time anyone close to them both would call and no one knew about them.
She grabbed her Iphone and said "Uncle Bruce.. How the hell are you?"
Bruce smirked with the video playing in his background just looking at her and punk and the way they looked at each other.
"Oh I am good Kenne or do you prefer Francesca." He said with a laugh.
Kennedy was biting on her gel nails and said "So you know..Does my dad know?"
"No but i do want to show him this interesting video I got that Might help something brewing here at WWE" Bruce said to her.
Kennedy covered her face and said "Oh god I never thought you guys would get those. Which one did you get?"
"Uh a pretty interesting one where you happen to land a coast to coast during an intergender match. Also it show you and our champ can't stop making eyes at each other. Did you work yourself into a shoot little girl?" Bruce said with a smirk.
Kennedy let out a sigh and said "Sort of. We have been together for almost a year it will be a year at the rumble on my birthday. Are you really going to show my dad?"
"Well I could but I kind of had a plan that you might want to come surprise them. It obvious you don't want them to know all of this But there is a chance for you to be on Tv to get one of our guys over and it involves Punk too." He said starting the pitch.
Kennedy decided to grab her cigarettes which Punk hated and went out to the deck oh her condo.
"you do realize this will give the company more reasons to hate Punk right. Besides I barely talk to most of them other than Shane and my mom since they have their office jobs." Kennedy said taking a drag off the cigarette she had lit.
Bruce said "Even more reason to come you haven't been around since Summerslam when we were in LA."
"I Know I know. But I am not sure I am ready to show them this talent because I don't want this stigma on me because i am a McMahon." She said looking out at the city from her balcony in the Hollywood hills.
"Look I have seen your footage and your promos. You have a gift that needs to be shared. Besides you know you are only using that scholarship for the Dance squad for half time shows." Bruce said teasing her.
Kennedy smirked as said "not even that anymore. Wrestling is in my blood and i can't help it. I am just scared Dad is gonna hate it and hate me. Like I am not even suppose to be dating a wrestler. Punk and I have been together for a year almost and now I am going to have to hide that. It was so hard for me not to wanna be with him at Summerslam and it hurt us both. I mean I am going to have to choose between my name and the man i love."
She was sadden by the thought of Summerslam because they barely even got to say him. Though she was able to sneak a kiss when no one was watching since the McMahon clan kept a watchful on her since she was the youngest and she was a fan pretty much and didn't have to go through it like they did.
"All I can say is your dad is no dummy. Do you know how many people send us pics and tapes of you? A lot and we can only keep this back for so long till you go viral one day on your own. Because you have talent Kenne." Bruce said leaning back in his office chair praying she would bite.
Kennedy finished her smoke and looked in the living room where Punk was sitting.
"Have you even pitched it to my dad?" She asked.
"Not yet I just wanted to make sure you would be willing to come do television first before I had that talk because you are gonna be a big part of for a fued for Punk. So he will be getting a push soon if your dad bites now." Bruce said making it feel like a win
Kennedy rolled her eyes and said "You guys keep telling him that but he is still a mid card champ."
"Well once I pitch this to your dad I am sure he will call you with he info along with Punk." Bruce said with a smirk knowing it would be a full win if he got Vince on board.
Kennedy was nervous and said "I hope he bites because I wanna know how you are gonna write me other than a McMahon."
"Not all McMahons are heels You know. You could be like Shane and be a babyface." Bruce said to her.
Kennedy let out a laugh and said "Now we both know him and my mom are the exception to that rule. There is no way I would pass as a face."
"Sure you can trust me..Let me go talk to your dad and I am sure we will be calling you shortly I promise." Bruce said hanging up with her.
Punk was now standing int he door way watching her as she said good bye and asked "What was that about?"
Punk walked closer to her and wrapped his arms around her and let her rest her head on his chest like it was her safe space.
"Uncle Bruce has an idea that involves me coming up to the dance and seeing if I am what A McMahon is or isn't" she said laying her head on his chest.
Punk lifted her chin and said "I am sure whatever it is you will do amazing. I love working against you in ROH because You are a McMahon and You CAN fight. That's a tough combo."
This made her laugh a bit and said "I am just scared we won't get to see each other or they are gonna put me in a situation just for show since I am not suppose to be dating talent.
"technically you are talent and no matter the situation we are secure in this. I fell in love with the person not the name. Though that still blows my mind that you are a McMahon." he said with a laugh.
Kennedy said "It's hard for me too. Like I feel out of place. These people are rich and spend money like its nothing and yes its a nice lifestyle I get. But it scares me because it could all be taken away once this all comes out."
Punk held her close and said "And you make enough to live the lifestyle we live. Plus I will take care of you if anything does happen. I told you that the day we thought this all could be possible and you told me what your last name was. There is some sadness though."
Kennedy looked up at him and said "what?"
"I can't make fun of Hunter anymore for being with the bosses daughter. Because I am too." He said kissing her nose.
Kennedy let out a giggle and snuggled into his arms and said "Well sure you can because no one knows about us... Yet."
"Yet is that key word there Love." he said kissing her head.
No Chance in Hell would start to blare on her phone. Punk Smirked and kissed her head. She was grateful he didn't know how to work facetime so Punk could stay close and hold her.
Kennedy placed her head on Punks chest as she slid the phone to answer the call.
"Hi Daddy." She said with the fakest smile on her face to sound happy.
Vince who was in his office with Bruce said "Hey Princess.. What are you up to?"
"Nothing Right Now I have to go to practice in a couple of hours. What's up daddy?" She said biting her lip.
Vince smirked happy to hear she was still into her passions though he didn't know what practice she was really going to.
"Oh nothing just sitting in the office thinking about you and how long it has been since you have spent a birthday with the family." Vince said rubbing his Chin.
Kennedy lifted her head from punks chest and said "Yeah it's been a while. I was thinking about coming home this weekend though since it is the big two one."
"Oh Really? Well I have a question for you then." Vince was stunned to hear this and would make his job a lot easier to pitch her.
Kennedy had been dreading this day when the family would pitch for her to be on Tv since they all were stars in the business in their own rights.
"Yes really daddy. What pitch you got for me today dad?" Kennedy said as she started to pace
Vince let out a belly laugh and said "Well your Uncle Bruce happen to bring me an idea that you might like. Since you are going to be in town anyways how would you like to do a spot with our champ CM Punk. Since I know you are fan."
Kennedy raised her eyebrow and looked at Punk and said "What kind of spot?"
"Well we want to give a push and help build another star as well. How would you feel about an on air relationship with someone?" Vince asked not knowing that Punk and her were dating.
As Far as Vince and the Family knew she was single. She had no time for a boyfriend. Vince also thought this might get her out there and maybe bring in a new light to WWE.
Kennedy asked "with who since you have told me I am not allowed to get involved with anyone in your business. Because you scared I am gonna end up like Steph and Paul."
Vince was never gonna live that down and said "that is only when you were in the office roll. But I want to put you in developmental and get you trained to be Talent and then you can be free to date whomever you want. But we want to put you and Punk in an angle together to help bring up another star as well as both of you."
Running her finger through her hair and said "woah that's a lot. I mean I have school still and dancing and my life here. What's the angle though? Because I don't want to be the one to make the family look bad."
Vince let out another laugh and said "Don't worry I have done that enough so I am sure whatever you do can only make us better. But I want you and Punk to hangout and get to know each other and talk for a bit and you will do some backstage stuff at first and make it seem like you two have been together a while because at rumble we wanna do something big for both of you. Which i will tell you when you get into town for Rumble."
"Well how am i suppose to make that happen Punks on the road as Champ this week right and I have practice all week here." Kennedy said plating it off as she was looking at Punk who was leaning on the railing.
Punk hated the lies and hiding but he really loved her and never wanted to lose her.
Vince cleared his throat and said "Well Punk is in LA this week doing promotion for the event so I can give you his schedule and get you his number and you two can work it out after i call him once we are done."
"Ok well that makes it a bit better. But I have a lot to do if this is the way to go and it works out. Because I have to talk to my dance coach and let her know the deal." she said playing with her hair.
Vince nodded his head and said "I Understand that. So you go handle that baby girl and I will call you in a few once I talk to Punk. I can't wait to see you Sunday."
"Neither can I daddy its been a while since the family has been all together." Kennedy said biting her lip.
"Yeah you mom and brother will be happy to see you. I know Steph and Paul will be excited to. But you go do what you need to do to be here on your birthday. I love you." Vince said.
"I love you too daddy. I will see you Sunday " Kennedy said hanging up with him.
Kennedy smiled glad to hear that her and Punk would be paired together.
"Well this should be fun working together since we have always worked opposite in ROH." Kennedy said with a smile knowing it would be easy to act like they had been a thing for a while since they already had been for a year.
Punk looked over his shoulder and said "Very true. But it should fun. I mean we could play this like we have asked for. Do a new school Randy Savage Miss Elizabeth like we talked about."
"That would be fun. But don't expect me to wear a dress." Kennedy said leaning on the rail.
Punk smirked and said "I would never unless you wanted to."
Punk came was walking over to give her a kiss. But his phone went off and it was Vince. Kennedy smiled and walked back into her condo to her bedroom to start packing her suitcase. Punk would stay out on the deck to have to conversation and listen to the pitch and acted stunned. He personally was happy they wouldn't have to hide it. But he was scared because he was worried about how poorly he was going to be treated once the locker room found out about the two.
Dun Dun Dun I been wanting to do this story for a bit and i had other idead bout i wanted to go to a time where i enjoyed what i was watching.
