Hello everyone! A few things first. I have changed a few things around in the world of Mha, for one UA is a University, Having the characters be eighteen at the start of Mha will help a little down the line, plus it is kind of weird how they just allow seventeen year olds in the mha verse to just fight crime by themselves with no repercussions. I will be changing the way a few things work as well. I will not be following canon 100%, some things may appear near the same, and some may end up not happening at all or out of order. I am sure we are all tired of reading the same events happen in the same order. One last thing, Izuku is seventeen at the start of this fic, and it's a year before he can go to UA and as such it'll be a bit before the entire class of 1-a meets. That is not to say he won't meet anyone from the cast for a shit load of chapters. He will be meeting several characters at different points in the year. With that I hope you all enjoy!

The Analytical Gamer

Izuku Midoriya sighed as he opened the door to his apartment. Izuku was a young seventeen year old of decent height, standing at a respectable one hundred and seventy nine centimeters and being rather plain looking, with green eyes and green hair. The only thing to break up the monotony of his face was a smattering of freckles.

Izuku glanced around the near silent apartment, his mom was out working late again. Izuku was grateful for all his mom did for him, and yet he couldn't help but wonder if it's time for him to get a job. The extra spending money couldn't hurt and it would take some pressure off his mom's already heavy workload.

He dropped his bag by the door and leaned down to grab his latest Hero Notebook from his bag. He had just finished this particular book on the walk home. Some new hero had debuted and he caught her first fight on the way home. She had a rather simple telekinesis quirk, but he quickly realized she could only manipulate objects in a small radius around herself.

Izuku lightly smacked himself before he could get more into what he witnessed about her quirk. He needed a new book to finish writing down his full analysis about her battle.

The soft hum of the refrigerator and the pitter patter of his socks on the hardwood floor are the only sounds in his apartment. Izuku walked into his room and looked around the merchandise in his room. Seeing All Might smiling back at him from several surfaces always made him smile, this time was no different. He grinned ear to ear as he turned to his bookshelf and moved around his collectables so he could slot in his newest notebook.

Once he was satisfied with the orientation of his Death Arms figurine he placed his Hero Notebook number thirty eight into the awaiting space and stepped back to admire it. He nodded to himself, happy for finishing his hundredth Quirk analysis he turned to go cook dinner when a light green object appeared in his vision.

The young vernadette jumped and let out a yelp as he held his hands up to block his face from the object. When nothing hit him he cautiously squinted between his hands at the strange object. After a few seconds of it staying unmoving he stepped forward to study the strange thing in front of him.

It was a light green screen, floating in his eyes. It had a light blue border running around the outside of the screen, a couple of centimeters from the edge. It was slightly opaque, not enough that he could see completely through it as his desk was slightly distorted and tinted the same mint green. Izuku then looked at the actual words on the screen and blinked at what they said.

[Congratulations! The requirements have been met to unlock the hidden power in your soul! You are now the newest Gamer! Use this power to complete your heart's desire.]

Izuku waited for several seconds, as the words repeated themselves in his head again and again. He suddenly jumped a few feet in the air in excitement.

After years he finally unlocked his quirk! He ran through several scenarios in his mind imagining himself following in All Might's footsteps. Hope and joy ran rampant through his very being as Izuku trembled in place. He could finally become a hero! He couldn't wait to find out what his quirk did!

Looking at the screen again he studied it. It still showed the same words. Not budging from his vision. He leaned left and right wondering how to close the menu.

"Close? Exit? Collapse?" Izuku hummed to himself. He couldn't find a way to close the menu. It stood, unmoving in his vision. "Shrink? Delete? Minimize?" The boy jumped as it collapsed into the edge of his vision. It Shrunk into the bottom left corner of his vision, showing as the old symbol of an unopened email colored the same green shade of the screen. A small red number one sat by the email.

Less than a second after closing the screen a new one appeared before him. [You have completed route 5 of 50, The Analytical Hero! Due to completing the hundredth hero analysis in your nerd books you have been granted a few gifts to help you on your way!]

Izuku scratched the back of his head as he wondered what it meant by 'routes'. "Minimize" he mumbled out, this one minimized just the same as the last one but the red number next to the icon increased to two. Izuku couldn't help but laugh, even as hiccups broke through his laughing and his shoulders heaved.

He sobs eventually won out as he collapsed to his knees, remembering how awful his life was because of his 'Quirklessness,' he remembered the lost friendships, the ruined notebooks, and the burn marks across his torso. He could only speculate on how his friendship with Kachan would have progressed if only he got his quirk with the rest of his childhood friends. He felt a flash of red hot anger at himself and his quirk. Why just why couldn't he have unlocked his quirk at the normal age!

After a half hour of crying he stood once again, wiping his sleeve against his face he looked forward with resolve burning in his eyes. "I will master my Quirk! I need to catch up if I want to get into UA next year!" With his declaration made he looked around. No new screen had appeared. Confused, he scratched his head. "Umm open? New Screen? Show me what to do?" Yet again nothing appeared.

Izuku sighed, wondering if everyone's Quirk was naturally stubborn, "maximize?" With that the two screens appeared in his vision again. The email Icon in the bottom left stayed where it was but the number disappeared.

Izuku focused again on the screens. The first one overlapped the corner of the second one, cutting off some of the words. Focusing on the second one brought it to the fore and he quickly read through both of them again. They didn't tell him how to progress from here but he figured he could just look it up online.

Sitting at his desk he noticed the screens followed him and sat just before the wall now. He opened his sticker covered laptop, covered in hero stickers of course, and brought up a search engine. Looking up strange green screen and Quirk brought up nothing important.

He shrugged and thought about what little his Quirk told him. Izuku hitting a dead end figured he would look up information about video games. His Quirk did call him a Gamer after all. Izuku only knew the basics about video games, being such a big hero enthusiast unfortunately cut into any other hobbies he might've had.

After an hour reading about several different kinds of video games and making no breakthrough he finally found something that worked. A quick mutter of "Item screen" brought forward another screen. This time it read [This is your Item screen, it shows your currently equipped clothing and armor as well as any items you possess!]

Minimizing this screen he looked towards the item screen that had opened. It showed the school uniform he was currently wearing in several boxes next to his body. The descriptions of clothes read as such.

Izuku frowned at the strange joking tone of his Quirk, perhaps it was sentient? He hummed in thought wondering what it meant by "Grandpa high" with his pants. Tapping the words with his fingers he felt as his pants changed.

Both his hands flew to his crotch as his dress pants all of a sudden flew up above his belly button. Biting his lip, with several tears in the corners of his eyes he fell off the side of his chair. A low whine escaped his lips as he frantically tried yanking his pants down. Yet no matter how hard he pulled his pants remained stuck to him.

His eyes flew to the floating screens pawing for a new option. After several long seconds he hit something that finally got his pants down. Sighing in relief, he rested his head against the ground.

After the pain and tears subsided he sat up and realized his pants were off. Looking at the menu again he saw that the option for off was now highlighted and strangely enough his pants were no longer in sight. He looked around for a few seconds longer and saw nothing still.

A glance to the side revealed that the empty boxes to the right of the screen had a non empty box. He blinked seeing his previously evil pants sitting folded in the middle of the box. He cautiously reached towards the box and felt his hand passthrough with no resistance. In fact, his hand grabbed nothing. For all intents and purposes his pants were stuck. Izuku tried several new commands and yet his pants remained out of reach.

He shrugged and with a hesitant touch clicked the "Common Student" option. It was only after a few seconds of no pain that he let out the breath he was holding and dropped his hand. His pants had disappeared emptying out the slot next to his menu. He took a second and noticed he only had ten slots next to the screen.

Then an idea hit him. He walked to his dresser and took out his gym clothes. His gym clothes consisted of a soft green tracksuit with some white accents running down both. Hesitantly he reached out and tried to push his clothes into the boxes. Nothing happened and he turned and tossed the clothes onto his bed. And that's when he noticed something.

His clothes did not reach the bed. When he turned to throw his clothes on his bed his menu moved with him and he ended up tossing his gym clothes through it. Blinking a few times he looked back at his menu and realized he threw his tracksuit at his 'body' in the menu. Looking down he confirmed he was indeed wearing his tracksuit.

The menu had updated and displayed his current clothing information, the durability was higher since this was activewear but it had more damage. It also appeared that this clothing did not provide any defense at all but instead each offered a +2 to constitution and had a "Set Bonus" that said it increased his movement speed by five. After a few moments of thinking he turned back to his dresser and took out a shirt that said Tuxedo in Kanji and a pair of dark gray shorts.

Izuku aimed for the boxes next to the menu and watched as they disappeared without a trace. There was no flash of light or sound to accompany the bending of space, his clothes just disappeared. Looking at the boxes next to the menu he saw his uniform and casual clothing each only took up a single space. Raising an eyebrow he leaned forward and sighed when his menu backed up. Under each box it read a simple title for each, "school uniform" and "casual outfit" respectively.

He played around with cycling outfits a few times, getting used to it before he heard the door to the apartment open.

He heard a muffled "I'm home sweetie," and the sound of a door closing towards the front of the apartment. He smiled wide as he switched his clothing into his casual outfit and opened his door. He ran to his mom just as she was putting her purse on the counter.

Inko perked up as she heard Izuku's door close. Inko Midoriya is an older woman of short stature, reaching mid chest to Izuku. Unlike her son, she did not have any freckles and her hair was straight compared to her son's very unruly green curls. Turning she saw her son all but vibrating in front of her. Inko let out a chuckle as she looked up into his vibrant eyes. "Have a good day at school kiddo?" She asked her son.

Izuku could only nod frantically, he did not trust that he wouldn't speak too loudly and way too fast to be understood. He took a deep breath to calm himself and opened his mouth. Before pausing, Izuku wanted nothing more to tell his mom about his Quirk but he realized he knew next to nothing about it.

He wanted to know more first, after all, the ability to change clothes instantaneously does not immediately make him hero material. And so he resolved to figure out every aspect of his Quirk as quickly as possible and prove that he could be a hero to his mom.

"I saw Intelegenisis's debut today! It was really cool how she used her Quirk! She used it to pull herself around by grabbing the ground with telekinesis and then used the chunks of rubble around her as weapons! Not to mention I think she figured out how to apply her telekinesis tactilely! She sent the Villain flying in one punch!" Izuku mimed out punches and zoomed across the imaginary battlefield with his hands.

Inko just smiled as she patted her son's chest, "I am certainly happy you are so excited about your hero's son, but how late did you stay out watching her? It's nearly nine and you normally have something cooked by now?" She motherly raised an eyebrow waiting for her nervous son's response.

The young boy chuckled as he calmed down and rubbed the back of his neck, "Not that late Mom, I got home just before six. I kinda sorta ran out of space in my latest notebook and lost track of time thinking up applications for her quirk. I'll get started cooking now if you want?"

"No, it is quite alright Izuku, I don't mind cooking. How does chicken udon sound?" Inko smiled warmly while walking towards the kitchen, "I can bet that you forgot about your homework, go get it done and take a shower, young man. I will let you know when dinner's ready."

Izuku nodded smiling brightly, "Yes mom I'll get it done, it shouldn't take me too long okay?"

Inko shooed him towards his room with a pack of chicken breast in hand. "Go on son, I want you to enjoy your weekend."

Izuku wandered back towards his room, knowing he wasn't going to be doing any homework tonight. Tonight his quirk obsessed his thoughts, but he didn't want to play around with it while his mom was nearby. He still didn't know if anyone could see his screens after all. That didn't stop him from dreaming of defeating every villain and saving everyone he could see.

Izuku yelled a quick love you over his shoulder as he jogged from his apartment, his tracksuit equipped along with his red shoes and his school bag, filled with hero notebooks of course. He briefly thought back to the very weird item descriptions on both his shoes and his backpack.

[Feet: Sneakers

A pair of red sneakers that due to their bright coloring, don't actually help you sneak. You can tell these will outlast even the heat death of the universe!

Defense: +3

Running Speed: +1

Durability: 499/500

Condition: Almost Pristine!

Styles: Common wear, Double knotted, Untied

Back: Backpack

An ugly yellow canvas backpack, it cramps your style just by wearing. Ew.

Carry weight: +10

Durability: 40/50

Condition: Old middle school bag

Styles: Common Student, One shoulder, Defying gravity]

Izuku was wondering just how his shoes had a higher defense than any other piece of clothing he owned, and why exactly his quirk hated his backpack. He shrugged just chalking it up as one of the quirks of his Quirk.

Lightly jogging through Musutafu he kept and ear and eye out for any hero battles nearby but kept his quirk analysis tendencies down, his quirk was the main focus of today.

Reaching a mostly empty park about twenty minutes away from his apartment he lightly wiped the sweat from his head. He wandered behind a nearby copse of trees to experiment with his quirk. He didn't know how visible his quirk was and didn't want to get in trouble for using his quirk in public.

Once he felt sufficiently hidden he quickly pulled up his item menu. He saw something on it that had gotten him curious. Right there in the description of his tracksuit it told him it added a +2 to his constitution stat. He remembered reading about how some games had a stat sheet and he was excited to find out his stats!

A whispered "Stat sheet" brought up a menu once again but it also brought up another screen reading tutorial, just like with his item sheet. The screen read [This is your Stat sheet! It shows you all pertinent information about your body and mind!

First is your Strength, it governs your attack damage and your carry weight! Increase this stat to punch continents apart!

Next is your Constitution, it is responsible for your health pool, the amount of damage you take from attacks, and your stamina! Increase this stat to become an unstoppable damage sponge!

After that is Agility, this covers your movement speed and ability to dodge incoming attacks! Increase this stat to become an untouchable speedster!

Next is Dexterity, this is the stat that controls your hand-eye coordination, your attack speed, and any skill that requires a soft touch!

Coming up next is your Charisma, this stat increases the chance of getting a discount from shops, the ability to charm people off their feet, and will make people listen to your goals! Raise this stat to charm the pants, and other articles of clothing, off even your greatest enemy!

Next is Intelligence, this stat is your mental acuity, your knowledge of the world around you, how well your memory works, and the size of your mana pool! Increase this stat to become a sorcerer of unparalleled strength, throwing out attacks and instantly recognizing your enemy's weak points!

Wisdom is your ability to recognize the best path forward, it takes your Intelligence and puts it to use in figuring out left is faster than right! It also increases your mana regen. Increase this stat to be a chaingun of magic spells, releasing spells indefinitely!

And finally is Luck! This stat should be easily understandable, but here's a dumbed down version for you. It covers your general luckiness for nearby events, a hand of poker, and loot drops! Increase this stat to become the richest person in the world, and deal out critical hits at every slight touch!

These are your stats that will determine how world breaking you are! Raise them to gain immeasurable power and make the world know your name! The rest of the stats page shows you your health pool, mana pool, and any other information you may need. Happy Leveling!]

Izuku fought down his blush after reading the description of Charisma and tried to understand the page of information available to him. Yet it felt like it was now harder to understand exactly what the page said. With a growing sense of fear he minimized the info screen and read through his stats where he found what he thought to be the cause of this mental fog.

[Name: Izuku Midoriya

Level: 1

Age: 17

Race: Japanese Human

Title: Hero Fanatic (Lvl: Max)

Quirk: Locked

Health: 1,000/1,000

Mana: Locked

Stats:

Strength: 10

Constitution: 10

Agility: 10

Dexterity: 10 (15)

Charisma: 10 (5)

Intelligence: 10 (20)

Wisdom: 10 (15)

Luck: 10 (5)

Additional stat points: 10]

Izuku sighed, "Guess the low Intelligence explains it." Izuku knew he wasn't a genius, but he knew he was smart, being third in his class. He felt like his Intelligence should be higher. His quirk must have reset his stats to a beginners level.

Izuku looked towards the bottom of the bottom of his stats sheet and looked curiously at the additional stats point score. Bringing back the tutorial screen displaying his stat's descriptions he wondered about where he should spend his points. "Well, luck is out, I don't know what it means by 'Events' and I don't have a super important need for cash. Charisma is out too, it just seemed rather pointless. Strength was something Hero's needed in spades, and Constitution seemed equally important if I don't want to die from the first Villain I meet. Agility is needed to reach those in need, and dexterity so I can actually hit Villains. Intelligence seems necessary to know how to beat Villains, but Wisdom is needed to actually know how to apply intelligence." While gently humming to himself about his predicament a new screen appeared in his vision.

Smothering down his yelp, he was broken out of his musing by a screen. [Due to thinking through the best solution to your problems you have been awarded a point to Wisdom!]

Izuku smirked to himself, he didn't know if it was the current sixteen to Wisdom that provided him the answer to his problem but he knew what to do. He dumped all ten points into Wisdom, bringing the stat up to twenty-six. He didn't feel any different, there wasn't a rush of power through him. He felt the same as he did ten seconds ago. Yet the plan stayed the same.

The awarded point in Wisdom from thinking hard made him realize that he could train his stats! They did conform to the real world after all. With that he laughed in joy and grabbed a notebook from his backpack.

This one titled Quirk Analysis for the future No. 1. In it Izuku quickly drew up a workout plan, detailing a sprint to and from school, as many pushups as he could manage plus ten extra after even that, squats, setups, whatever workout he had stored in his head he put in his notebook.

After lowering his book he saw he gained another point in Wisdom and smiled to himself. Putting away his notebook and equipping it from the item menu he took off running. He had a plan, and a goal to reach towards. He will become the greatest hero the world has ever seen! He would prove every single person wrong! He would show Kaachan that he could be a hero! And no one could stop him!

Phew Finally done with the first chapter of my first published FanFiction. I hope you all enjoyed it thus far. I got the idea after reading various gamer fics around different verses. One of my favorites and most well known is "The games we play" By Ryuugi. It is a RWBY fanfiction on spacebattles and has since been uploaded by an independent poster to this site. It's a massive full book length story that includes a lot of world building. I won't be ripping it off but you might see a few references and throwaway jokes to that story. As you could also see it doesn't follow the typical path other Gamer stories use. A few readers may realize where a few differences lie and I hope it will keep this story fresh and fun to read. Right now I don't have a consistent schedule or any schedule for your information. I have written several stories before but this is the first I have published so any constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated! I really want to up my skills as a writer!

Please review, favorite, and follow!

And have a good day!
