Naruto POV
"Sasuke, take the Suna kids, I know you want revenge.", Orochimaru said smiling evilly at the Anbu. Akira growled as Sasuke made a step towards us. Meanwhile Kabuto had laid Tsunade down and stood over her in a defensive stance. "Baki, Temari, Akira get Tsunade, Gaara and I will fight Sasuke.", I said earning a nod from my teammates. Sasuke chuckled and drew his sword. Gaara opened the small gourd on his belt and let the sand seep into the ground, while I took out my predator blade. Akira growled as she grew in size, until her head was roughly at the same height as mine, drawing a slightly surprised look from the Uchiha.
I noticed Orochimaru jumping away and the Anbu following instantly, although they had orders to recover Tsunade and only see the sannin as a secondary objective. I reasoned, that they were drawing the strongest shinobi away from the captured Tsunade, making it easier for my team to recover her.
Then Sasuke forced my attention back to himself as I heard a chirping sound, that I immediately recognized as the chidori. I managed to just dodge the beam of lightning that Sasuke shot at me, landing on one knee I looked at Sasuke who was slightly surprised that I had dodged his attack. Then I heard a pained howl from behind me and turned around to see, that Akira had not been quick enough to get out of the way and had been hit by the chidori. As far as I could see, it was not a fatal hit, but I knew that Akira didn't have the strength to continue fighting, so I nodded and she disappeared in a cloud of smoke. I looked over at Sasuke and had to smiled as I saw sand coming out of the ground behind him and went on the attack to distract him. Our swords clashed while I tried to hold him in one place, making it easier for Gaara's sand to sneak up on him. Catching Sasuke off guard, I caught his left leg with my sword, drawing a scream from him and causing him to drop down on one knee. His sharingan glowed as he looked at me, trying to capture me in an illusion. I knew that it wouldn't work, since Kurama would just push out some of his chakra and break the illusion, even if I was completely incapacitated, so I let it happen and watched Sasuke's eyes widen, when he realized that his plan had not worked.
Then Gaara's sand hit. A moment later, Sasuke was hanging upside down in front of mine and Gaara's faces. "How are you that strong?", Sasuke managed to get out, while the sand kept the air that reached his lungs to a minimum. "I have someone to protect.", I answered simply, not elaborating further. Sasuke then smiled and suddenly the sand around him exploded with chakra, freeing him and startling Gaara and me. I looked around to see where he had went, when I saw a giant dragon, made out of fire, fly towards me. I jumped to Gaara, who was still recovering from the explosion and went through a series of handsigns, pushing chakra into my hands. Pointing my palms at the dragon a strong gust of wind rose and slammed into the dragon. I knew, that air was weak against fire so I pumped way more chakra into the defense as I usually did to overpower the attack. My eyes went wide as the dragon still pushed through my wall of air and was even growing as he did so. Then there suddenly was a wall of sand in front of me. I ducked down and looked at Gaara, who had recovered just in time. We heard the dragon slam into the sand, although I felt nothing from the impact.
When Gaara lowered his sand we saw Sasuke standing there with black markings moving over his body. He was smiling as he blew fireballs at us. We were too busy to evade the fireballs to counterattack and he was slowly transforming into the second stage of his curse seal. After he was done and his wings had fully emerged he changed to hand to hand combat, with the simple problem, that his hands were surrounded by blue chirping chakra. Gaara had a few close calls, getting saved by his sand not just once. However, I wasn't faring much better. My saviour, although, was my mother's sword, which I could use to block the jutsu powered strikes of the Uchiha.
I knew, that even when he was using the curse seal, Sasuke could only keep up the jutsu for a limited amount of time, so we would just have to outlast him.
I could see however, that Gaara was getting tired and that he was increasingly relying on his sand and Sasuke was getting closer and closer to hitting Gaara himself. We couldn't keep this up, so I was looking for a way to stop Sasuke.
Hey, I need your help.
Yeah, I see. Let's do this.
I smiled as I lit up with orange chakra. Sasuke looked at me with surprise evident in his eyes. Nonetheless he went forward again, attacking me with his chidori. I evade his strikes with ease and even managed to land a few hits on the increasingly angry Uchiha. By this time, Gaara was getting a well needed pause as he was panting rather hard, apparently not wanting to tap into Shukaku's power. After another failed attack from my opponent I kicked him away from me and held my hand out, forming a rasengan. Sasuke looked at me with pure hatred in his eyes, before shooting at me again. I however didn't evade, but kept standing in his way, while adding chakra to my rasengan until it was slowly forming outside of the circling sphere, creating a rasenshuriken. As it was finished, I launched towards the Uchiha, fully intend on letting our jutsu crash together. I knew, that the chidori was on par with a normal rasengan, when it came to power, so I predicted that my rasenshuriken would just overpower my opponent's jutsu and dispel it. And that was exactly what happened. The rest of my jutsu's energy that wasn't used to cancel the chidori hit Sasuke, launching him into the crater from the earlier explosion.
As the dust settled Gaara and I looked over the edge onto a bloodied body, that was so battered, that it was almost unidentifiable.
