"Happy birthday, Albus."

Behind his moon-shaped glasses, Albus Dumbledore's eyes twinkled. He was incredibly moved by who had taken the time to wish him many happy returns on his special day - regardless of how begrudgingly they were spoken.

"Oh, Aberforth," the grand wizard said softly. "You remembered my birthday."

"Of course I did." Aberforth gazed scornfully at his more famous sibling. "You're my brother. I could never forget your birthday."

"You did last year…" Albus murmured. "And the year before… And the year before that…"

"No no, it's not that I forget your birthday!" Aberforth shook his head. "It's just that I ignored it."

"Oh did you now?"

Albus stared hard at his younger sibling. It was clear from Aberforth's revelation that his resentment towards him was as strong as ever. Even if his brother was acknowledging his special day right now, he was still clearly holding bitter feelings towards him.

"So what made you decide to come by on my special day this year?" Albus asked.

"Because I saw this - and it made me think of you." Aberforth held up a golden gift bag. "We may not always see eye-to-eye, but you're still my brother at the end of the day. Soooo … happy birthday, bro! I hope you like your present - although I'm sure you will."

A thankful smile found its way onto Dumbledore's face. He took the gift bag from Aberforth with a grateful nod. Holding it before him, he opened it up to peer inside - before letting off a gasp upon finding out what his brother had got him for his birthday.

"My favourite!" he cried. "Thank you, Aberforth!"

Completely thrilled with his present from his sibling, Albus quickly pulled it out of the gift bag - revealing it to be nothing more than a packet of Sherbet lemons.

Aberforth smirked in satisfaction upon watching his bother start to enjoy the gift he had gotten him. He knew Albus would be very pleased to receive his most favourite candy which happened to be made by muggles.

It was far easier than getting him a birthday cake. At his grand age, they would need to put on and light a large number of candles, which Aberforth was sure Albus would never be able to blow out due to how anciently old he was getting.

The end.
